The produce department is usually well stocked, and the prices and selection quite good. They do support local and BC products. They have a large health and vitamin selection. As a frequent shopper I enjoy their loyalty program, every once in a while I get $20 off. They usually have good weekly sale items on a variety of everyday and specialty items. Helpful, attentive, knowledgeable staff. Convenient highway access with a medium sized, free parking lot. The thing that pushes them to 5 stars for me is their community support. Not only do they provide donations, etc. they have a room that they share with community charity groups free of charge - now that is easily worth a star.

The cashiers are rude and push you along without providing bagging help. It turns out that the cashiers must spent a certain amount of time per customer so they are timed. This is a bad policy! The cashiers push other people's items into the area where you pickup your food if you are slower than they want. They do not assist with bagging. Perhaps, they can't given that the store treats them as if they are on an assembly line. Prices are not properly displayed. Help from staff while you shop within the store is non-existent.

I drove fifteen minutes to show them the liver I bought, the day before, I cooked and it turned very green and made my dog unwell. The employee, who was wonderful, called for the manager or meat manager and when they arrived they just blew me off. I went out of my way to make sure no one else got sick and that is the response I get? The same thing happened six months earlier when I returned some lobster that made me sick. Just for reference these are the only two items I have taken back to a store in my life. Overall the employees are wonderful and the management, that I met, are horrible. Please post a sign returns are unwanted and we don't care!

We settled on some sourdough bread, croissants and homemade granola and I can honestly say all three items were among the best I've ever tasted. And being from the San Francisco Bay Area I know what good sourdough tastes like. The taste and texture were on point, perfect crust and chewy but soft interior. And I can't stop eating the (chocolate) granola, it's amazing!!

Roast beef, hams and cooked poultry products looked like they were ready for the garbage can ( a while ago ). Obviously no qualified supervision, the two younger staff members completely ignored me while they continued their conversation. I guess Jimmy Pattison ( the owner ) is quite content to offer dried deli products in this high priced store.

Best part here is that the orange juice was 2 for $7 but we were able to buy one at $3.50. So we are not forced to buy in multiples. IGA is known to have specialty items that you can't get at other grocery markets. Nice to walk in and see what is on sale. The store was very well laid out and everything is neatly organized on the shelves. No chaos. That is good. It is definitely way quieter than Save On Foods. If you are buying the common every day items, I feel like Save On foods would have better deals. Of course not always! Only on selected items.
