Some accessible. It's fairly primitive. No hookups for RVs, however, there is a dump station. It's a whopping $10 to use. No potable water refills for your campers. FACILITIES/AMENITIES - fairly level gravel sites - picnic table - campfire ring with grill - vault toilets - drinking water - trash collection - firewood for purchase from host - Turquoise Lake is a short hike or drive nearby The host is a very sweet lady. She will come around on a golf cart to collect your info, let you know the rules and see if you need anything. TIPS * There are several other campgrounds within this national forest right next to Father Dyer if you aren't able to reserve the spot you want. * From Highway 24 (the main road in Leadville) the signs are vague on how to get to this area. Unless you know the area, you might get a little lost. So from Hwy 24 drive west on County Road 4 (also known as McWethy Dr) and follow signs to the Turquoise Lake Recreation Area. First, I was looking forward to taking my 3 year old to the ice cream social. Nope - canceled and they didn't bother to tell this to me when I made my reservation. Second, right as we were about to put our baby down to sleep (about 8pm), a group of 30 or more people rolled into the campsite next to us and proceeded to yell, scream, run around (through our site, too) and play loud music. Our baby cried through 2 hours of this until we finally had to pack up our stuff and leave! It was a huge disservice for the campground to put so many people in 1 or 2 sites! And they didn't bother controlling the chaos as it spilled over into the neighboring sites ruining the experience of their other customers. So, I'm sorry Sugar Loafin', but as much as I liked your campground, I will never return. I'm not going to risk the effort it takes to bring my family there only to have our camping experience ruined.

Such a cool spot that seems relatively new. Basically fencing put up around an area of tall trees. There's a dirt parking lot with plenty of space. The gate is a little janky but functions. It's overall well-maintained. Bring water and waste bags. I'll definitely be coming back every time I'm exploring Leadville!
