We are repeat customers and this year took a 3/4 day trip to Brown's Falls surrounded by golden aspen. Our Wrangler, KC, is amiable, a great story teller and terrific at managing horses and riders. My family has done a couple of full day rides with KC, and he'll do his best to get you an eyeful of scenery, rain or shine! As an experienced rider, I was looking for a trail ride that would not be the stereotypical nose-to-tail walking trail ride that is so commonly offered, and this trail ride did not disappoint! We were able to ride in a pack, side-by-side each other. We rode from the ranch, out through a pasture, and up a hillside to the top of the butte. On the butte, they let us experienced riders do more than walk on our horses. Amy, Josh, and Josh were so warm and welcoming and shared some history about the area. Fantastic tour guides, and amazing humans. My friend and I were visiting Colorado for about a week, and Amy gave us some recommendations of additional things to do/see while we were in the area, as well. Next time I make it back to Colorado, I would absolutely go back and visit Platte Ranch again. WOW what a time. My…read morefriend and I signed up with this company to take us on a 2 day extreme class IV/V Overnight rafting trip on the Arkansas river. We both have experience with this company from rafting the Upper Salt River in AZ. Unfortunately the water levels didn't cooperate but, the rafting company modified the itinerary to give us the best possible adventure possible. Day upper upper Browns Canyon which led to class I've and the use of duckies. Operation am not a fan but, half of our group loved them. We were then driven 1.5 hours away for our dinner and tent camping (3 miles from our put in). Ryan and Eric our guides cooked a great meal and catered to the group. We awakened to a mist and heavy fog, which we were served pancakes and sausages for a warm breakfast, and let's not forget hot coffee. We then departed at 8:30 for our trip down the Royal Gorge were we hit class in rapids, lots of class 3s, great geology, good company, lots of fun and a great experience. Ryan our lead guide and Eric did a great job for 2 days of providing us a great experience and memories. You have many choices but from a personal experience this is the best company to deal with. We are already planning next year's multi day trip.

No integrity and no remorse for ruining our trip. Fast forward, we found an amazing company that agreed to work us in the same day and, after speaking to several people in the area, it is well known that Wilderness Aware Rafting has less experienced guides and get stuck in the river holding up "traffic" most days. Literally no one locally has anything nice to say. In hindsight, I am glad we didn't go with them.

The owners/managers were so accommodating, they took the 15-20 of us and said they would square everything away with the rafting company. We went on a 2 hour ride up/down/through the mountains and across creeks. It was so beautiful and amazing. Deer Valley Ranch was an absolutely beautiful place to get married, and we're so glad we chose it…read morefor our wedding. We booked fairly last minute, so the main lodge was already reserved for a family reunion, but we were able to rent Centennial Hall for our reception, and it worked out wonderfully. One thing to be aware of if you're planning a summer wedding is that Centennial Hall does not have air conditioning, so it can get quite warm during the reception. Even so, everyone had a fantastic time. We also experienced an unexpected issue with a neighboring property owner playing loud music during our reception. We later learned this has been an ongoing issue because he has expressed that he doesn't enjoy living next to an event venue. Fortunately, our DJ was able to drown out most of the noise, and, behind the scenes, Cammie handled the situation quickly by contacting law enforcement. Everything was resolved promptly, and it never became an issue that took away from our celebration. Overall, we couldn't have been happier with our experience. Deer Valley Ranch is a gorgeous venue with an amazing staff, breathtaking views, and affordable value. We'd absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful mountain wedding venue.

I called on a Saturday afternoon for a Tuesday morning ride, and they were able to accommodate us. Since it was the slow season and a weekday, availability was better. However, weekends tend to book up quickly, even during the off-season, so I recommend calling several days in advance. You won't receive an email confirmation, so be sure to make note of your reservation time. If you forget, you can always call and confirm it they are very friendly and happy to help. We chose the one hour ride, which was perfect for a first time rider like me. While it would have been nice to ride through the aspen grove, we're saving that for our next visit. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and the views were amazing. My 11 year old daughter, who has a little riding experience, also had a fantastic time. Our guide was supportive, informative, and engaging. She shared interesting information about the local wildflowers, mountain peaks, and the surrounding area, which made the ride even more enjoyable. Helmets are available on site and are optional. One tip: be sure to wear plenty of sunscreen and bring a cap or hat. There is limited shade on the trail, and the sun can be quite strong, especially at higher elevations. Overall, it was a very fun experience, and we're already looking forward to returning to try the one and half hour tour next time.
