Our site was literally right on the creek, with the sound of rushing water providing the perfect soundtrack. I would definitely stay here again, but only if I could snag a creekside site. The upper-level campsites aren't nearly as appealing (but I believe they have full hookups). They're right alongside Highway 285, so there's quite a bit of traffic noise. We could hear the highway from our creekside site, too, but fortunately, the sound of the rushing creek did a pretty good job of drowning it out. The staff was very nice and welcoming. For me, the creekside sites are definitely the way to go at this campground/RV park.

Management was some of the friendliest and helpful of any place we have stayed. Park was clean, neat and easy to get in and out. WiFi was good, but we used Verisign WiFi most of the time there. Lots to do in the area, between 4 wheeling, fishing, rafting, and sightseeing. Great location to spend the summer surrounded by mountains.

But it seems to be true for ALL RV parks in the area, so blame Chaffee County government not them. It's fine, just bring a propane grill and firebowl - Quiet hours. Yep, this is a quieter campground and they don't want you being noisy after 10pm. Want to party and be loud? Go somewhere else. Their vibe is nice and I don't mind the rule at all - Dogs. Their policy is a bit unusual and they only allow one dog per camper. They also require you to walk them in an area specifically to pee and poop there. I get why, but they are a bit too tight on that one IMO (that's where I would suggest they relax a bit or maybe charge per pet, whatever) I would recommend staying just be aware of their policies

There were a few activities we wanted to do as a group and separately. This campsite offered close proximity to everything :) we were able to go fishing, hiking, rock climbing, and stop into town for last minute supplies! A little north of Buena Vista, turtle rock campgrounds is a self pay campground. First come first serve. There was a campground host on site as well. A lot of camp sites and they seemed to be spread out nicely. We got three sites cause we were a big group. They did offer group sites but we got there too late to secure one. They offer vault toilets. I will say, I like these better than porta potties! Make sure you bring hand sanitizer! Each campsite had a fire pit but you need to supply your own wood/fire starter! We enjoyed being close to town cause when a group tried to go fishing, someone car battery died :( we had several cars so we were able to drive to town and get a new battery! Quick and easy fix! Overall I think this campground was really nice and easily accessible! Really bumpy road on the way up so bring the right car! I hope to go back during better weather! We got caught in a rain and windy storm but it passed within 30mins. Can't wait for the next adventure!

And that can be a great thing so you can be attentive to what your at the ranch for. I attended a seminar here and absolutely love being in nature, got to see a family of deers each morning feeding. The staff at the ranch were friendly and did their best to accommodate the needs of our group. The facilities are well kept, the bunk beds in the cabins were comfortable and can host 6-7 people per cabin. Food was like school cafeteria food which was okay.

Pet friendly too--complete with poop bags and couch covers so my dog could live her best life and I didn't have to wrestle her off the sofa like a WWE match. The smoking station on the back porch? Genius. Keeps butts out of nature while still letting smokers feel fancy. The kitchen? Huge table, solid chairs, and a crockpot that made me feel like I'd been transported to a cooking show. Quality pots and pans for days, but only four coffee mugs. FOUR. For a whole chalet. Are we hosting an exclusive espresso club? And one dish towel? My sponge practically filed a complaint. Here's the kicker: it snowed overnight the first night, and by the time we came back from skiing, the walkway was shoveled and the hot tub lid was cleared off like some magical snow-removal ninja had swung by. Honestly, it felt like Santa was moonlighting as chalet maintenance. We did lose heat the first night for a few hours, which gave us an unexpected "polar survival" experience, but those thick duvets were life-savers. Overall, 10/10. All of the animals are well taken care of and added to the overall wonderful experience. The hosts are very friendly and offered a delicious breakfast. There is also a well-marked trail on the property, for those who wish to commune with nature. Cheesemaking classes are also available. We purchased some of the goat milk lotion, it's made on site (I believe). Wonderful product for the dry Colorado air. I would definitely recommend!

Everything from the beds to the breakfast was perfect, plenty of study space with games and activities, this place was worth every penny! The house is very well updated and is immaculately clean! Every detail is thought through: spacious bedrooms with plenty of extra pillows and blankets, sparkling bathrooms with all necessities -and then some, and a well stocked kitchen! Perfect location between the slopes & downtown attractions. And what an amazing host! All messages are answered in seconds, always available, welcoming and accommodating! We felt right at home. I would not look for any other place in Salida.
