Nice waitresses, but that's about it! Waited over 30 minutes for chicken tenders and a chicken salad sandwich. Chicken was way over cooked and actually looked like it was cooked twice. Chicken salad w/ cranberry and almonds had no almonds and tons of celery. Used to be good....won't go there again. read more

Gorgeous View, Great Tasting Food and so flavorfully. We had a very bad experience the night before at a restaurant so this was so appreciated. Very nice portions, I had the fried fish YUUUUUMy, cole slaw and baked potato. My husband had the burger with fries and he said it was Devine. We came in for a quick snack and a bloody Mary. The place started to fill up really fast around lunchtime and because of the shortage of staff we thought it might take a while to get things. We felt bad for the staff. However this place is well known for its local food and especially its location. Food is always consistent and tastes good. We saw that they had LOADED bloody Mary's but did not want to burden the staff and just asked. They made us two. They were fantastic with all the trimmings and the mix is made in house and was delicious. The Mary came with a pickle, olive, jalapeño popper, chicken strip, popcorn shrimp, cheese curds, bacon cheeseburger and celery. It was amazingly good. They should advertise it more and sell it for a higher price. Mary came with a beer chaser and you can see our bill. We felt like we had to pay more for the taste. Experience and quality... we did. Don't pass it by... definitely stop by. People need to be patient and compassionate with the service. Stop being entitled... it's hard to find workers... read more

Looking for a Friday fish fry and we're in Shell Lake. So glad we came here! Hubby had the perch pike fried with fries and coke slaw. His words "best fish I have had in Wisconsin" I ordered the baked cod and it was delicious. Service fast and friendly and with a view of Shell Lake. Atmosphere is light and bright. With a good bar area including TVs for sports watching. Great place! read more

Really good restaurant and everything was amazing about it. The service was amazing and the worker was a cutie. The food had the perfect amount of grease on it and tasted like a 5 star chef made it. The food is usually good at Lakeview, and it has a great location next to the Shell Lake beach, but customer service is consistently slow. Our table had a variety of dishes, and everything was tasty. But it was way too long between when our waitress would check on us. She even took a drink order and came back a half hour later saying oops, I forgot. Not the best experience. read more

Stopped here for a quick lunch that wasn't so quick, I certainly can understand being understaffed due to a holiday but that's only within reason. A soda took 20 minutes when arrived, food was 1.5 hour wait with no explanations, my chx ceasor had no chx. Food was marginal but the service was worse. Let me start by saying that the food is very good here, however their service has gone down consistently over the past two years. I do understand that it's hard to find help during these times. But, tonight we were there for nearly two hours and after an hour and fifteen minutes of waiting (even after asking the waitress to check on our appetizer) the waitress informed us that she forgot to put our order in. They did comp our drinks and give us a $10 gift card for next time...I'm just not sure there will be a next time unfortunately. read more

Disappointing to go in on a Sunday evening just before 7 pm, make contact with the bartender to ensure the kitchen was still serving, then sit at a table in the front (view of the bar) to find that we could not get served. After waiting for a bit, my wife instructed which wine to order as she went to the restroom. Upon her return, we decided they leave as we could not get service or any acknowledgment we were there. Love the LakeView. It is our destination dining spot. Our young kids love the place, as much as we do. Absolute best salad bar in the area. I often go just to eat a salad. Prime Rib sandwich is a favorite, as well as great burgers. Pizza is in my top 5 best, but would be #1, however they do not do deep dish. Always great for the family, even though they have a full bar and a few harleys out front once in a while. Should be a 5-star, but they dont have a tenderloin fillet. read more

Returned again for the prime rib. Big disappointment this time. Service was ok. But, the salad bar only had finely shredded lettuce like you would get at Taco Bell. Tasted ok, but, well different and is no longer included with the meat, cost three bucks extra. Not worth it. The prime rib itself was tough as a old shoe, almost impossible to cut it with the very dull knives they supplied with the meal. That also made it impossible to trim off the gnarly bits. Well the chicken alfredo i ordered wasn't bad but i also asked for their "cheese burger" soup and it looked and tasted like a potato soup. So i stopped our server and asked "is this the right soup? I ordered cheese burger and this is like potato" and this lady had the audacity to tell me "well its really just a concoction of stuff from today and yesterday. I was appalled, i couldn't believe she said that to me. Then she proceeded to call me a goofball because i didnt understand their "way of soup". We love going to Lakeview for lunch or dinner. Amazing margaritas on Thursday Mexican night! Their grilled chicken sandwiches are excellent as well as their burgers. Our favorite is the Southwest Chicken Salad. It's the best we have had anywhere. Great atmosphere and great bartender. read more

Kacey during the day doesn't do a good job, she is more interested in talking to her friends at the bar than insuring you are good on water/pop, and it takes forever to get your bill. I gave one star due to the fact that no stars was not allowed. I was in town for business and had wanted to dine at a local restaurant. My coworker and I walked in and found a table in the front of the restaurant. Only one other couple was in the front. A large group was in the back of the restaurant. By the time the waitress came back to take our order, the front of the restaurant had filled with locals having lunch. My coworker ordered wings and I ordered a grilled cheese and a drink. I saw people that were seated after us receiving their meals. They had ordered hamburgers and sandwiches etc. When our meal arrived almost 25 minutes later, the cheese on my grilled cheese was not melted. When I showed it to the waitress, she explained that the large party in the back had overwhelmed the kitchen staff. I understand that happens. My waitress said she would speak with the manager. She came back several minutes later to tell me the manager would comp the sandwich but that I had to pay the $1.50 for the can of coke. It is apparent that the front of the house manager is lacking in several skills. It was obvious that the front of the house manager had no issue overloading the kitchen by either a.) over booking without concern for scheduled staff or b.) not discussing with the kitchen manager a booked party of that size. No matter the scenario, I feel I was poorly treated. I am used to better customer service than was shown at this location. To be told that the meal was complimentary but I had to pay for the Coke confirmed the lack of quality customer service. I understand being busy but the fact that the manager did not come to the table is unacceptable. I will be back in town for business but this restaurant will not be revisited. I do not recommend patronizing this restaurant. read more

We stopped on our way up Hwy 63. We sat out in the patio and had a great view of the lake. My husband had the Rueben and I had the Italian beef. Both sandwiches were delicious. I will definitely stop again if we happen to be traveling through Shell Lake. read more
