I've booked LakeTran dial-a-ride appointments twice in the last few months for transportation home from ophthalmology appointments at Newell Creek in Mentor due to driving restrictions post-surgery. For both trips, the drivers arrived on time. The ride with Delores on Feb. 18 was especially pleasant. Dealing with a lot of traffic and especially the Rte. 91 bridge construction issues, she kept me posted on her planned route to my home in the event of bridge delays or re-routing. Usually I have no problem with Laketran. But there was this super rude karen b!tch, driver who drives bus 3 eastbound. I'm a student who asked for a student discount. She snapped that its only for high school students. I said "oh my bad, there was just a poster in my school saying otherwise and other drivers let me" I sit in the back and when i think the convo is done she yells back you need to call customer service and not be " combative" with her. I said I wasnt being combative, just trying to explain myself." She then asks if I'm a highschool student, I say no, she asks again and I say no. She asks again and I said I already answered. She says "I must answer her". She then calls for backup, god knows why. Saying I was "causing problems". over the radioThey then threatened to take me off "If I don't stop". Was running late for work and the ahole driving bus 1. Told me not to get off at the right stop(which I was originally going to get off at)(Lakeland) and to get off at the mall to catch the 3 west bus. I looked at the schedule and asked him if he was 100% sure. He got super annoyed with me and said "ya, get off here". Well I waited for an hour in the cold for the next bus to take me to Lakeland where I caught the 3 west. Was late to work. Got written up. And froze my butt off for an hour in sub 20s weather because that ahole wanted to tell me what stops to make when I didn't even ask him in the first place. I will just pay for Uber from now on. I ride the park and ride downtown and the bus drivers I have interacted with are all kind and courteous. I have gotten on the wrong bus before and when the driver didn't recognize me, they asked if I was on the right bus and if I needed any help, they told me when the bus I was looking for was going to be there. One time I was late to the stop and the driver stopped the bus to let me on when they saw me waving them down. Let me tell you, the bus drivers in the big cities would never do that. My fiancé was standing outside the pink lake health building waiting for bus 1 to pick him up to go to Painesville then home in Fairport Harbor. He was on the phone with me then entire time. The bus driver sped up when he saw my fiancé and laughed while going by him. These drivers need to do their job and pick people up. I called customer service and was hung up on. I called again and the lady told me that there was nothing that she could do. That he had to wait until the bus came around again in an hour. I have a 92 year old client that rides Lake Tran once a week, there seems to always be an issue. Either they leave her outside until someone gets here. (we open at 8:30, sometimes she's out there for 20 minutes) or forget to pick her up. When I call to speak with someone, I'm on hold for over 15 minutes and then when someone finally picks up the phone they are super rude. I would NOT recommend! read more
