It was cold the day went but, if you get warm weather, try for their outdoor patio. I ordered the lemon rosemary hummus (delish) with gluten free crackers and it came out with lots of sliced veggies, olives and pickled carrots and onions. A great value! My main course was king salmon and it was perfect. I ordered a lemonade and was disappointed that the tall skinny glass it was served in was full to the top with ice, so there was very little left to drink. My husband enjoyed the Cesar salad he ordered, tasted like a traditional Cesar. He tried the special beef cheeks and found them to be very fatty and gelatinous. He wouldn't recommend them. They did have a N/A beer option he was happy about. Service was attentive and friendly.

Unfortunately, most places were already closed, so our options were limited--we decided to give this bar a try since they served pizza, and we're really glad we did. The employees were friendly and welcoming. They did seem a bit preoccupied with what we assumed were regulars, but it didn't take away from our experience. The food came out quickly and was really good. The pizza was especially delicious, chicken bacon ranch--definitely a highlight. We also tried the cheese curds, which were tasty (a little greasy, but that's to be expected). The atmosphere was great--clean, well-lit, and not overly loud like many bars can be. There were lots of board games available and even free popcorn, which made it feel like a fun, relaxed, and family-friendly spot. It's not over-the-top or trying too hard--just a genuinely enjoyable place to hang out. We didn't order any drinks this time, but the blueberry lemon cider caught my eye, and I'll definitely be trying that on our next visit. Overall, this was an unexpectedly great find!

The tots were so crunchy and had a great amount of Cajun seasoning. When I order tots at places I'm often disappointed because they're undercooked or very greasy or lack flavor, but these guys really nailed it. These tots were not greasy, as crunchy as they could have been and so tasty. Friendly service from the server with the cool short blonde hair and the rest of the team as well.

The vibe here is identical to all of the other McMenamin's properties. Low lighting, eclectic, and lots of original components. So cool to see the pictures here from back in the day with little changed in the space! The barback here is super cool and you can tell it's original. Our waitress was great - she was nice and huge shoutout to her for recognizing we had our passports because we almost forgot to get them stamped (hate to say we do this pretty often). I always get their hazy IPA, it never disappoints. They also usually have good cider options for my husband which is always a relief since he can't do beer much anymore. The food at any of their properties is always pretty solid and that was true here as well. I went pretty basic and just got a cheeseburger, but it was delicious! Cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. Stoked that we finally checked out this location - we'd definitely return if we were in the area again.

Pretty spot, light and airy with a plethora (word of the day) seating arrangements, from outdoor, to harborside to indoor "garden" balcony. The service was friendly and surprisingly on-point for a brand new place. Not just our server, but all the servers (and hostess) pitched in to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Big kudos on this front. However, for as nice as the aesthetic is, and the exemplary service, the real star of the show was the food. My wife and I shared an appetizer, had drinks, two entrees and shared a dessert and it was all amazingly presented and tasted out of this world. We started with the garlic shrimp, served in a garlic cilantro sauce, with poblano rice and crostini, it was a nice light dish at just the right portion to be shared or enjoyed solo. Usually this sort of dish will punch you in the face with garlic but this was seasoned perfectly. Next up was our entrees; a chorizo and rice mixture served in a hallowed out pineapple. Sweet and spicy (but not too spicy) it was a treat to the senses. My wife had the seafood enchilada served with a cilantro cream sauce and homemade corn tortillas, was out of this world (and this from someone who isn't over the moon about seafood). Finally, we finished our meal off with Bananas Dulce. Perfectly prepared, light, and exquisite served with a generous scoop of ice cream. The perfect ending to a perfect meal. I tend to be critical (especially in this black-hole-of-food area) of the local restaurants but Vino Mar is a surprising star that immediately gets added to one of my local favorites. Go and enjoy!

The restaurant is quite small, in an area leading into the kitchen. At first glance it seems rather -- bleak. Four tables, a pair of pool tables, a large video golf game. A small counter that once had some seating but now doesn't. It may be necessary to get the server's attention because they are pretty busy in the lounge. Yeah, ambience-wise this place leaves a lot to be desired. But this little place has some of the best diner food in town. The portions are large. Substitutions are not a problem. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their burgers and sandwiches are burly and always fresh, I am not exaggerating, some of the best burgers in Olympia. Hot food is served really hot, straight off the grill. Fries have to take a minute to be cool enuf to eat. Salads tend to be iceberg lettuce based but are always crisp and fresh. To be clear, this is all pub/diner fare, nothing fancy. The coffee, alas, is the same weak stuff everybody else serves. But for food that will tame the meanest hangover or Jumpstart a miserable rainy day, this is one of the best places.in town.
