This mall has been closed since July. Only JCPenney and Macy's are open. You enter through that store 'a main entrance.

Excited to go but disappointed upon arrival. I was looking to have a unique experience here but lost all my joy upon looking at the front door. Looks like a ghost town

I didn't find any of the Lakes that were supposed to be in here. So where do the Lakeshide? I'll have to figure that out next time. I won't just find one. I'll find them mall. I have a lot of issues with this mall. It took absolutely forever to walk from where I parked which was supposedly the best place to park for Victoria's Secret to the actual Victoria's Secret store. Like an absolute eternity. I went in half the stores in here when I came with Barbie (and she wasn't impressed by most of it). Went in only a few by myself, mainly to buy things for her. It's kind of an old run-down Mall and has some really unfriendly people running around inside it. The employees working in here in several of the stores that I went in were some of the least friendly at any mall I went to. On the other hand I found some really amazing outfits for my girlfriend, including some that she had not found in any other malls and believe me we went to a lot looking for them. Overall though I would have to say this was one of the more frustrating malls I went to. There weren't really too many good looking people inside but there were a lot of bad attitudes and you can't be a jerk to me unless you're really sexy.

Lots of stores, cleanliness is ok. Sometimes food left on floors in hallways. Mall cops always on patrol. Stores are pleasant

I haven't been to Lakeside in forever, so when I stopped in I was completely surprised with the shape of it. There was so many closed off store areas. A lot of stores aren't around anymore. We walked around quite a while and the mall was dead. It wasn't like we were there super early. I was shocked to see how empty most stores were. Some of the stores we walked by were completely empty. I didn't blame anyone for going in because some of the clothing displayed were items I'd never wear. There are so many long ad signs all around, and we could not find a map for the life of us. After finally walking to many stores and trying to find one, we sat down to eat and finally found a map. I'm not sure why the signs don't all have maps. Maps are convenient for people that haven't been here in a while or new customers. It's hard to find anything. I noticed a lot of those mini shop areas. Much more than there used to be. Some were for piercings or toys, and some for hair or sweatshirts. Two of the men working were on their cell phones talking loudly in another language. I was surprised by this. They didn't seem interested in customers walking by. They had an Easter display, but it looks really small. No one was even waiting in line. I think they go to Somerset instead, or just don't care to have Easter photos. Some areas of the mall are really dirty. At least the mall was quiet today in most stores. It did make it easier for me to shop, but at the same time it felt odd. Fridays are usually busy you'd think. I know that most people go to Partridge Mall during the spring, summer, and fall. You even get more customers there in the winter than you do here. Partridge offers better food areas and actual restaurants, and a movie theatre. Lakeside doesn't have that many options to choose from unless you want fast food. Something that either isn't filling or healthy. This mall really lost it's spark when the other one opened up. Ever since then, business has been slow. Constant shops are closing. Can you blame them when there aren't many customers around?

It's a pretty big mall that is not overcrowded during the pandemic and limits people inside some stores. The employees in the stores I went into, they were all friendly and professional. I will most likely be back to shop again. If you want something good to eat while here, visit the Chinese restaurant where the the food cafeteria is. I don't remember the exact name of it but I'm sure it's the only Chinese restaurant there open. There crab/cheese rangoon is good too.

Been coming here for years. I'm not one for walking around malls to shop. I like to get in and out of stores. I came up to DC Sports for a charity event. I was there to meet former Tiger Brandon Inge. The event was really good and it was good to meet Mr. Inge. The mall was your typical mall some businesses opened and a few were empty.

They aren't open late (8 PM?) but that's okay. There's plenty of seating around and the place is dog friendly. Parking's pretty good but it does get backed up and busy sometimes so beware. They have a beautiful water fountain and loads of places to sit if you're waiting for someone to finish shopping or what not. While not every store appeals to me, the shopping here's decent. They've had some vacancies for a while, but that's okay. I usually come here since they have a crocs store, but I wish they had a Starbucks here which they do not have. During the holiday season, they have an exciting and wonderful Christmas tree with a well decorated mall. Better then most! I like that it's clean and well kept here, but occasionally there's a TON of teenagers running amuck which can be annoying. I think it's because most of the stores apply to a younger crowd versus older crowds. Overall a great place to grab a meal, do some quick shopping or just meet up with friends to walk around.

It's dog friendly, as I have seen tons of folks coming and going with their furry friends, you might even think it was a dog park, there's a lot of dogs.

That being said this store is not that impressive to me. The store is a great size, almost too big for what they have to offer. A lot of stock of the same things. During my visit I only saw two employees and they were both at the register helping customers making purchases. That's fine, however with the size of the store it seems like there should be more. Again not a negative for me just making a note. This store if you're not familiar is a bit of a hodge podge. It has some accent furniture (small accent chairs, benches , a small buffet style accent table..),seasonal decorations , pillows, mirror's , lamps, like a deconstruction of Pier 1. I say deconstruction because it's really just like a one or 2 off vs. an entire collection. Really interesting. Prices are lower than a Pier 1 or Home Goods, but they really don't have a ton or any real guarantee that what you see today they'd offer tomorrow. Just an average shop with an occasional item you might find a deal on. Not my cup of tea but it could be fantastic in another's eyes.

My daughter wanted to browse for something cute for herself, so we stopped into Plato's Closet about 30 minutes before closing. I was a little worried we'd be rushing, but the atmosphere was still fun and relaxed despite shoppers trying to squeeze in a few last-minute treasures before the store closed. The best part was watching the shopping bug spread through the family. My daughter started browsing, then the other kids decided they wanted something too. Suddenly everyone was searching racks, comparing deals, and showing each other what they found. Lol. I wasn't even planning to shop, but I ended up finding a pair of Calvin Klein work slacks for The Mr. for $18; I couldn't pass on a deal like that. That's one of the things I love about stores like Plato's Closet--you never know what you're going to find, and sometimes the best deal is the one you weren't looking for. Years ago, when my oldest son was a baby, he grew so quickly that I regularly sold his outgrown clothes to Plato's Closet. Walking through the store now and watching that same child use his own money to buy clothes for himself was really special. The staff deserve a shoutout as well. Even though it was close to closing time and they were clearly working on end-of-night tasks, everyone we spoke with was friendly, patient, and welcoming. The cashier was especially kind while helping the kids check out their purchases, which I appreciated. We came in looking for one item and left with several happy shoppers. That's usually a sign of a successful trip. We'll definitely be back for another treasure hunt soon.

I bought it for $27, tag on it. What's wrong with the pricing system? Seems awfully NOT fair. This hasn't been a one time occurrence, they often scam and make me lug in bags and bags full only to be sent with them back in my bags and back into my car.

Early on, I wasn't super impressed, but then things changed for the better around 2020 and it was reliably good for years. I always appreciated how well-curated the front section was, since I could feel confident that most of the really desirable items were there. If I didn't have a lot of time, I'd just peruse that area. But it was also worth exploring the whole store when I had the opportunity. I almost always left with something good. This Spring (2026) the place took a turn for the worse. I thought at first it was temporary, due to some remodeling that was taking place. Unfortunately, I don't think that's true. The remodeling seems to be done but the store is worse rather than better. With the exception of shoes, the front area is smaller and not well-organized or well-curated. In general, there seems to be a much worse selection, and the store feels cheap and a bit seedy to me. I'm not sure what happened! New manager? I hope they get this figured out or I will soon be taking this store out of my regular rotation.
