I wasn't too excited about going into the mall for just one stop at first, but it ended up being pretty easy. As long as you go in through the right entrance, you don't have to walk the whole mall, although we love the huge size and selection at Great Lakes! We used the map right by the door and found GameStop quickly. The mall felt welcoming and had a lot going on, so it's definitely a place you could spend more time if you wanted to. Even though we didn't need help from mall staff, we were greeted by a few people as we walked through, which was nice. It turned out to be a smooth and easy visit overall.

My favorite stores to shop here were: Just Cozy, TJ Maxx, Burlington, and The Nike Store. All of these stores had items that I needed and all of them had a large variety to choose from. Many of these stores also had great sales and specials. They had a Winter Wonderland setup and Santa Claus was there for photos. I also appreciated that they had Christmas Carolers from a local church group singing live here. The food court was not good. We had a family member get sick from the Japanese food place, so please be careful. The variety in the food court is also a range of different options, which was good. This indoor mall is now my fave here.

I remember this place as a kid: it was teeming with shoppers, stores, and had the best food court on the East side. Now, it has entire wings of the mall closed down without a single store in them. Other wings of the mall (like the Burlington wing) have only a few stores, and lots of vacant spaces. The wonderful food court now only has two (maybe three) eateries open, when it was once completely full and always busy. The only area of the mall that sees a lot of action houses Movies 16. I wouldn't recommend going here because there isn't much shopping to be had. It may be a good place to do "mall walking", but as far as shopping, there's very little shopping to be had.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Poor Service at Walmart Auto Center - Chesterfield Twp, MI…read more To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with a recent experience I had at your Auto Service Center located in Chesterfield Township, Michigan. What was supposed to be a routine oil change and tire rotation turned into a complete waste of time and an incredibly frustrating ordeal. I brought my high-top van in for service and was assured by the first associate that there would be no issues performing both the oil change and tire rotation. I was told it would take some time, so I walked around the store for nearly two hours while waiting. Upon returning, I was shocked to find that nothing had been done. The second associate then claimed that they tried to call me but that the call went to voicemail. I immediately checked my phone--there was no missed call, voicemail, or notification of any kind. This feels like a blatant excuse, possibly because they were nearing closing time and didn't want to proceed with the service. To make matters worse, earlier that day I had called the store to inquire about black rubber mulch in the outdoor garden section. I was told none was available. However, while walking back to the Auto Center, I saw an entire pallet of it in plain sight. This level of misinformation is beyond frustrating. Overall, this experience was unacceptable. Between the lack of follow-through, poor communication, and misinformation, I left both disappointed and aggravated. Unless serious improvements are made in customer service and internal communication, I will not be returning to this location--or possibly any Walmart--for automotive service again. I expect a response and some form of accountability for this experience. Sincerely, Scott D. Romesburg 810-794-8077 Date of Visit: 05/20/2025

The drive maybe an extra 2 to 3 miles from my home but its a worthwhile and yet satisfying feeling to park in a clean and smooth paved parking lot at the many stores here. Kohl's is the main store up front that one can see from Gratiot Ave next to Art Van. Turn off Gratiot at this large display sign and drive to back lot areas of stores. Nearby is a Big Lots, Hobby Lobby for you craft and thrift shoppers. There are 12 fairly new stores such as Bed Bath and Beyond, Best Buy, DSW, Dress Barn, JCPenney, Five Below, Bath & Body Works, Old Navy and Ulta are my favorites. I may have missed a few to list here so check out this area for yourself. It is pleasant to talk with great customer service employees at the several stores where I shop too. A big change from Hall Rd. stores. The back parking lot after Kohl's store is where all the great shops are at with connecting driveways close to each other. If one is driving down 23 Mile Rd. after exiting I-94 Eastbound, there is a traffic light to turn left at for the "back road" to find these great stores with a roundabout. Happy Shopping at some fairly decent, well stocked and clean stores !

Level A - the first floor was closed, and we could only walk around Level 1, with limited access to view the cars from above. For years, this has been one of my favorite spots to bring friends when they visited Detroit. Seeing everything from vintage GM models to upcoming vehicles all in one place always felt iconic. Knowing this was likely one of the last visits before major demolition begins made it feel even more emotional. We'll truly miss this space as we've known it. The change, while disappointing at first, makes sense. The two office towers closest to the river, along with the connecting podium, are slated for demolition. The original 1970s-era design simply no longer fits modern work needs, especially with the shift toward remote and hybrid work. While it's sad to see this space go, the future plans, opening up the riverfront and creating a Navy Pier-style park and entertainment area, give hope that something even better is coming.

Phase one was completed in 1977 with additional towers added in 1981 for a total of seven! Sadly, General Motors decided to relocate its headquarters elsewhere and much of the office space is vacant. But that doesn't make it any less interesting and the GM display in the lowest level is darned awesome. [Review 682 of 2025 - 390 in Michigan - 24243 overall]

Modern, unique, clean lines, and no big floral patterns. Yama is the sister store but the opposite of The Peacock Room and definitely more my speed. I have been looking for a store that carries my size in unique pieces that will last. I happy to pay for quality of a well-made piece and am tired of the mass-produced casual wear that seems to be the only options anymore and fall apart in a couple months or after a few washes. The saleswoman was super sweet and helpful. I kept bugging her to look at the pieces behind the counter that just came in. She was steaming them but they looked so good, I had to try one on. I didn't end up purchasing anything, as I wasn't planning on making a purchase today and my meter was running out, but I did try on 5 more items and cannot stop thinking about this store and the Joseph Ribkoff items. Made in America (which they noted on the tag) the top was black and had a shiny silver spotted pattern on the cowl area of the shirt. It was different! The pricing was inline with what I've paid for other pieces made in America, which I personally value and seek out when shopping. When I turned the corner in the back, a whole new area revealed itself. Several racks of wardrobe pieces that will all stand out in a crowd. I told my husband that some of them I saw myself wearing when I finally doubled down on my "fun and kooky art teacher vibe" but not everything is that bold. There were some very smart pieces, some more traditional silhouettes but in bold colors. There is also mid-century modern clothes that were retro but also in the here and now. I haven't intended on buying a bright pink party dress, but when I slipped it on in the fitting room I was thrilled - it fit like a glove. The dress was an XXL which I don't think I've ever worn, but knowing fashion sizing can sometimes be wonky I gave it a go. It had some frill, a front zipper that smartly hid itself (and thank goodness, a dress I can zip up for myself and I don't have to shimmy into), and the best part... POCKETS! REAL FUNCTIONAL POCKETS. It was even on their sale rack for a great price. The next time I'm looking for an outfit for a wedding or maybe just to replace a couple shirts with something with a bit more personality, I'll definitely be back.
