At Bridal Expos and online, you usually get bombarded with the chain Menswear places to do your business with for your wedding day (like I did). The styles at these places were bland and I wanted something different. I stumbled upon Sam Michael's and from my first visit (of probably 5 or 6 in total), I was hooked! Walking in here for the first time, I didn't know what to expected. I explained that I was getting married, and 8 groomsmen and 2 parents that needed suits. I was sat down and shown all of my different rental options, which included suits, tuxes, pants, ties, shoes and other accessories. So many decisions, but I was granted the ability to stay there and think carefully, but also explained to that I can change it as many times as I want up to a month or so before the wedding date. Attached are some pictures of the suit I picked for myself and my groomsmen. It was a brand new suit in their inventory that they personally owned, as well as the color choice for my accents (pocket square and tie). Michael and team were very professional through the entire process. We had multiple texts and phone calls back and forth during my moving of our wedding date as well as when my accent color was discontinued. After the wedding was all said and done, I was granted a $500 shopping spree on a suit set of my choice. That was really exciting and I got a nice blue, checkered patterned suit. Initially the suit was advertised to me as "slightly more expensive" but better quality and service than competitors. After we allocated our wedding finances after we got married, at Sam Michael's, I actually spent LESS than what I budgeted and LESS than a competitor I was initially going to go with. Totally worth it here! Thank you Mike and team for everything! I felt like family every time I walked in. No errors or resizing for any of us during our pick ups.

I had heard about it, but I had my regular places I went to for suits and nice clothes. I know where I will go from now on. There are so many brands of outstanding fashion designers for men there and the selection was endless. Everything was very reasonably priced. The colors and patterns were not typical of navy, black, and tan. They jumped right off the clothes. There were bright, vivacious colors that you don't see at Brooks Brothers or Bacharach. The only thing more impressive than the selection and quality of the clothing was the service I received. OMG, Wendy not only knew all the brands, how they fit, and what sizes were available, but it was like she could read my mind about what went well together and what would be comfortable for me. It was like she knew my measurements by just looking at me. The only issue I had was that I didn't allow myself enough time. I purchased some shoes; I was not walking out empty-handed, but I definitely will be coming back again, and again, and again. The thing I really enjoyed and appreciated was Wendy's attitude. She was dressed to the 9's, very professional, she knew the products in and out, she was informative and not salesy or pushy. I felt very comfortable and trusted her advice. By the way she was dressed, I knew she had the kind of taste I like in clothing. Sharp, neat, respectful, but also fun. If I'm honest, the cherry on the sundae was her smile. She looked happy to be there and like she enjoyed her profession. It's hard in retail to find a salesperson in a store, period, one that wants to be there and is helpful, good luck. That's what I had, good luck, because I had the privilege of having her assistance. I am excited to go back, I will make sure I have a lot of time and make some space in my closet. Our experience with this custom men's clothing shop was extremely disappointing. We ordered a…read morecustom suit 3 months in advance and made 10 or more trips to the store for fittings, expecting that the extra time and attention would result in a properly made suit. Unfortunately, the original suite was altered so many times that it looked worse each time we returned. Despite all the fittings and alterations, the suit had to be scrapped, and they ran out of time to make another one. They even lost a pair of pants we needed altered too!!!! What was even more troubling was that the owner ultimately tried to give us clothing from the back room and a NON custom suit while still charging us for a custom made suit. That was completely unacceptable and not what we paid for. The customer service was equally disappointing. We did not see or hear from the original salesman after the first visit. On one visit, while we were there dealing with ongoing problem with the suit, the owner helped someone else, who simply walked in and left us waiting for 45 minutes, we found this extremely rude and disrespectful, especially considering how much time and money my entire family had already invested. A custom clothing experience should involve professionalism and respect for all customers. Unfortunately , we expereinced none of those. We gave this business more than enough time and opportunities to make things right and instead the experience was extremely frustrating right before our daughter's wedding. I tried contacting online and didn't hear back for almost a week while they were investigating. Ben helped me escalate it in person and I got my refunds, within the hour or 2, as well as my return labels for what I received but decided not to keep. They have a huge selection of suits and honestly without assistance we would have been overwhelmed. The store always very busy but the staff did a great job of balancing giving us attention and giving us space. They helped him choose a beautiful Italian wool navy suit that he could wear to the weddings and a dark green suit (I never would have thought he could pull of that color) for the less formal events.
