I imagine this mall used to busier and bustling with teems of people. It wasn't that busy and there were some empty store fronts it seems. This doesn't have any notable department store. Dick's and Hobby Lobby and At Home seem to be their main anchors. Stopped by Torrid, Bath and Body Works, White Barn, Shoe Carnival. It's kind of lifeless here, it's sad. read more

My wife and I went to the Shoe Carnival at Macomb Mall. We were very impressed with the customer service we received from Jasmine! She was very attentive to my wife. She must have showed her at least a dozen different shoes. My wife walked in looking for a specific type of shoe but ultimately decided on a completely different style. These shoes were also cheaper than the ones she originally wanted! Thanks Jasmine and Shoe Carnival, we will be back to see you and Macomb Mall for future shoe needs! read more

Good old mediocre Macomb Mall. I read at least one other review where the writer pointed out they've been coming here their whole life and, well, sad to say but I can make that claim, too. In recent years my visits have been very infrequent, though. Most recently I wandered Macomb Mall in search of all white sneakers for a new job I just started. I comparison shopped at 4 or 5 basically interchangeable shoe sections at different stores looking for some Adidas. I couldn't find the pair I wanted in my size so I returned to one store - Journeys? Underground Station? I dunno - to buy my third pair of Old Skool Vans. At this point I'm basically a brand ambassador for Vans. Service was alright at Journeys, I think. No shortage of shoe stores at this mall. Previously I bought a lawn chair from the Dicks Sporting Goods, paint markers from Michael's whose politics are less odious than the Hobby Lobby at the other end of the mall and a really shitty wood and wicker small set of drawers I set atop my dresser for extra storage for underwear and socks. That stupid container I overpaid for at the At Home in the former Sears spot. One of the drawers broke within a week or two. What a piece of garbage. I think that covers all my visits from about the last decade. After some lean times the place is pretty filled up for a mall in the age of Amazon but a lot of the variety is gone. The theater is a thing of the past, there's almost no place left to eat unless you count the chain restaurants at the edges of the too large parking lot, no book store, video store, record store, toy store and no dollar store. I still miss that shitty Kresge from waaaay back in my youth. I miss the old style giant Macomb Mall sign at the corner of Masonic and Gratiot with the matching big red letters with only the mall name and the anchor stores, too. It was much better than the current iteration with mishmashed logos for any old store trying to get in on the limelight. Not at all epic like the old one. Good old mediocre Kohl's is still holding it down at good old mediocre Macomb Mall, last of the old school anchors way back on the Beaconsfield side. Truth be told, this collection of stores under a common roof was never all that cool in the first place but nostalgia makes the heart grow fonder and it did engender more excitement than it does now. It's ugly and has seen better days but that goes for most things on Gratiot. Call it Mehcomb Mall. read more

Macomb Mall has come a long way over the years. It's no longer a vacant, empty and messy place. Store fronts are welcoming. Business is good. It's so clean, too! This mall has a handful of solid bigger stores. Hobby Lobby, Dick's, Old Navy and Kohl's. Food options are good with a few pretzel places (Love Auntie Anne's!), Cinnabon and a new Chinese take out restaurant. There's even chairs and tables so you can sit and relax. For your skincare needs there is also a larger Ulta and Bath and Body Works. For men there's Dick's and Foot Locker. The only thing missing, in my opinion, is an American Eagle. There used to be one here years ago and it's sadly gone. I have dreams that they'll open one where the the Forever 21 used to be. The inside mall is very clean. I always see workers cleaning up and taking care of messes. The outside mall, however, needs some work. The parking lot is an accident waiting to happen. No clear direction. Parking spots that aren't well painted. Overall a great place to spend an hour or two. read more

Went to Macomb Mall with my daughter to shop for shorts for an upcoming trip. She is tired of buying online and not having them fit properly, so it was important for her to be able to shop in person and try things on. We had a very busy schedule this week and limited time to shop, so we arrived at about 8 p.m. Close to closing time, but plenty of time to hit a few stores quickly. I have gone to malls my entire life. It is normal for anchor stores to be open later than the smaller mall stores. It is also normal for anchor stores to leave the gates open so the shoppers can walk back through the mall and exit near where their car is parked. It has been this way as long as I can remember. Since the 1980's and before. Unbeknownst to me, apparently now in 2024, if you're in Kohls a minute past 9:00 you're trapped. It is now the policy that you must walk all the way around the outside of the mall to get to your car. Never-mind the possible safety concern of young women potentially walking alone through a deserted parking lot for a prolonged period of time late at night. Or the fact that it might be thunderstorming. Or the fact that some people might be shopping with young children or grandma in a wheelchair. Yet another thing to add to the list of store policies that became terrible post-covid. When I complained to my husband, he pointed out that probably no one cares because no one shops at malls anymore. Well, here is another good reason to shop online. My daughter didn't even find any good shorts that fit. And we got soaked walking around the entire building in a storm. Big waste of time. read more

They are doing a decent job at keeping this mall clean and full looking. Yes, a lot of the old stores are gone but The most seems to be reinventing itself. They have a lot of stores that carry stuff that you don't want to buy online. Stuff like shoes, lotions, candles, calendars, jewelry and personalized gift items. Over the years it became less and less busy and business just went down hill! I remember this mall being so busy every day no matter what day it was the place was packed. Now it's head on with online shopping a lot of people online shop which is killing a lot of these malls to stay open!! They started adding food places which is a plus. Brought some people back! They should add a big food court like lakeside, shopping and eating is big in malls!!! Aaah, the old SCS area,, at first I thought they were gonna just leave this mall to nature and probably declare it as another modern ruin. For some reason, Metro Detroit is back on its feet and a lot of the surrounding cities have money again. A face-lift has been done to the inside and outside of the mall and it looks very nice I might say. Last I was here, most of the key restaurants and fast food spots were located across the street. Now there seems to be some major money being injected into this mall. New popular restaurants are popping up in the mall block. Heck, there's even an H&M being built to make it enticing for people to go in the mall and shop. I like how the mall is trying to revive itself by doing all that. Plus it's more of a big push and incentive to self preserve the city due to most people are now starting to return to Detroit proper. You guys are doing a good job, plus your mall grounds is a major smart bus line hub, so you'll always get people traffic to come through. I remember going to Macomb mall ever since I was a teenager and it is changed a lot! Ever since it took over new ownership they've updated so much and got rid of a lot of the old and added a lot more new. They now have an H&M A new Beauty Store (Ultra)... not as good as Sephora but just as well its a makeup store and you can get your top of the line eyeliner there. They now have 2 pretzel places that are not just laying there in the middle of the walkway they actually have a storefront! They now added a Dick's Sporting Goods which is super awesome for sports fanatics or if you need to send your husband somewhere while you shop around. GOT rid of hillsburg diamonds.... and some of those ghetto shoppes that we're just randomly placed in the middle of the aisles. Overall it gets 3 stars for the update but it will never compare to lakeside. I'm just happy they still have the Victoria Secret there. read more

I've lived in the area for over a decade. Macomb Mall has never been THE destination for retail, but once upon a time, it had a variety of shops. You could get most anything you wanted. It looked run down, almost trashy, but it had tenants for any kind of shopping need. They've improved the appearance, but the shops? Oh boy. Ohhhhhhhh boy. No book store. No video game store. No toy store. No media store. No play area. No food court. NOTHING but clothing, jewelers and several perfume/toiletries places. Maybe this is how malls are now. Maybe the mall I remember as a teenager is a thing of the past. Maybe the concept of a one-stop shop has been assassinated by Amazon and big box stores. Maybe I'm just the one behind the times, and this is the best Macomb Mall can do. But there is almost nothing I need to go there for. The sporting goods store for my kids, Shoe Carnival for shoes, and the wife likes Old Navy. That's it. The end. I have more reason to walk around a cemetery than Macomb Mall. One three minute walk through this place and you'll agree. read more

I never went to Macomb Mall in the past. I only visited when it went through it's renovation. It is very spacious, comfy seats, and great stores. Though it is small and contains mostly department stores, it has some key stores in itself. There are some stores that I frequent here like H&M, Ulta, Hot Topic , Old Navy, etc. There are many stores amongst that. I never had any problem with this location. There is a ton of parking. The only bad thing about this mall would be variety, but I can see that it is slowly improving! Plus, it is located around other department stores like Best Buy, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond. I went to Things Remembered Macomb Mall in Roseville today with my mother around noon. We both placed orders and was told it would be between 4-6 hours and they would call when it was ready. I waited but did not recieve a call. About 7:40 P.M I called the store since I was in the area and asked was both orders for me ready. I was then put on hold and a young lady came back to the phone and repeated the names and told me that the orders were indeed ready. Not even five minutes later I walked into the store to retrieve the orders. The male associate asked me to repeat the names several times which I did. I spotted one order myself and pointed it out to him. He then searched for the other order and could not find it. I asked was everything ok because I had just called and was insured that the order was ready. He said In a hostel tone what more do you want for me I am looking for it. I replied I would like for you to find It please because you all just told me it was here and ready. I then asked how can we rectify the situation because I am about to be late to pick up my daughter. At this point I had been in the store about thirty nine minutes. He said well you just going to have to come back, an if you don't want to do that I don't know what to tell you. I said sir i can not come back. He said well I do not know what else to tell you, he threw my receipt in the air and said he was done talking to me. I said that's fine I still need my refund at this point. He told me that I was F$$$$$$ crazy and that I need to leave. I asked for the manager and asked her if this is how they treat all of there customers. Her reply was you are both grown and I can't tell him what to do. She stated what do you want me to do fire him. I said I did not ask you to fire him I am asking you to ask him to stop talking to me the way he is talking to me. I stated so you are going to continue to let him be rude to me? She walked away from me and continued to help someone else all while he is still talking rudely to me and telling me to get out the store. I then stated i am done with your crazy ass get the f$$$ on some where.I asked for Corp number he told me to find It myself. I was not even talking to him I was speaking with someone else at that time. The whole time the nice young lady was trying to assist me with the refund the gentleman was still screaming and hollering at me.Another associate who begin to start my refund. She apologized on behalf of the non caring manager and the beyond rude associate. I still did not get an apology from the other two that caused a scene and embarrassed me in front of other customers. I have never been so embarrassed as a customer in my life. read more

Poor Macomb Mall...what has happened to you?! Growing up at the north end of St. Clair Shores, Macomb mall was the closest mall to us. It was the place my mom dragged my to as a child when she needed to go Sears, and it turned into the regular hang out for my girl friends and I when we were teenagers. It wasn't as big or nice as Lakeside (which was where we went when we wanted to REALLY shop) but it served the purpose. It had all the stores we needed, and a national coney island inside for when we shopped up an appetite. Fast forward to recently. I haven't been here in years, but swung by a few weeks ago because I was in the area and needed to hit Victoria's Secret. Yikes!!! I was actually sad by the state of things now. The old sign has LONG been past its prime - as a child I used to play a game of counting how many neon letters were burned out on it, and hoping in vain for the day we'd drive by and see no letters out (that day never game). The parking lot is dingy, and a lot of the anchor department stores have changed or closed. Walking inside, things just got worse. A sad, dwindling group of rather unsavory looking folks shuffling from store to store. The point of my trip, Victoria's Secret, served the purpose - I got what I needed but it was a much smaller store than most and with less selection. The National Coney Island still looked the same, at least. There are still some decent stores here, so Macomb Mall can get the job done. But the general atmosphere and experience will make you leave feeling sad and in need of a hot shower. read more

If you have a chance to go to the Macomb mall over the coming months, you'll have the unique chance to watch a mall die. We've all seen dead malls before - Wonderland in Livonia or Universal in Warren, but Macomb is just now sounding the death knell. Perhaps it was double-threat of Lakeside + Partridge Creek to the north, or simply the tanking American economy, but I've watched no less than 10 stores close in the last month and a half, including retail heavyweights like Zales and FYE. Their dollar theater (Silver Cinemas) is still a major draw and one of my favourite things about living in Roseville, but recently posted about cutting back hours during the week. The mall still has other things to see - the pet store always has puppies to take out for a test cuddle, as long as you don't have impressionable children or significant others who don't understand "We're not paying 400 dollars for a designer mutt." There's also a store called "Hodge Podge" which has to be seen to believed: the basic concept of the store is that they rent out booth space to local handicraft people to sell their wares, and in return get a cut of the profits to handle sales & keep the lights on - a great place to find a howling wolf/indian chief nightlight and a hand-knit remote cozy. Perhaps by virtue of encouraging people to go witness the eventual demise of Macomb Mall, I'll drive up business and prevent the collapse, but only time will tell. read more

So, I've been going to this mall for most of my life - since I was about 5. I'm surprised that I would give it three stars considering that, but I really think there are better malls around. They have a pretty standard selection of stores - a bookstore, the Gap, Hot Topic, Gamestop, Kohl's, etc. One of the things I never liked was the complete lack of a food court. There's a Charlie's Steakery and a Little Caesar's on one end of the mall, and that's it. No real selection here, unless you count the mid-mall concession stands as "food court." The Silver Cinema is a plus. It beats driving out to Universal mall to use theirs, though SC also has the same problem as Universal's Movies 16; loud and young teenagers will buy random tickets, sneak into R rated movies, and talk through the whole thing. Also, the security is a pain. I don't know if it's the way I look or what, but no fail every time I've been in this mall since 1999 I've gotten harassed by mall security, whether it's the way I dress (I once was harassed by security because I was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and the hood was UP) or just the way I am, I don't know. It's quite obvious that I'm not 17, and I'm not in a large group (actually, I haven't been to the mall WITH someone in many years) ... I still don't understand. If I do need to visit this place now, I make sure I have minimal walk time to give these cretins less time to find something wrong with my garb. If you know there's a store here that you'd like to visit, then more power to you. I try to stay away these days, because of the security and because there's not much for me in there. read more

Pretty much a dying mall. There are a few anchor stores left (Sears & Kohl's). They are remodeling the entire outside of the mall. The vacant stores are being replaced (I believe with a Dick's Sporting Goods). The mall is usually dead during the weekdays. Hopefully the remodeling will bring some better stores and a renewed interest in this mall. read more

Macomb Mall once was the hub of Macomb County. Not so much anymore. I read that the mall will soon be revamped and hopefully that will bring the shoppers back to Masonic and Gratiot in Roseville. We visited Sears and it felt like we were the only shoppers there. Then we sent to Payless Shoes and walked past lots of vendors with no one stopping to check out their wares. Olga's was the most popular place in the mall and their staff was hurrying to keep up with the number of diners. We opted for a carry-out of Peasant Stew. read more

It's not as great as it used to be. They used to have a lot of stores in here before they started closing them all out. Now even Sears is going and it seems like they're just losing a lot of business here at the mall. There's only a few stores left that are actually worth visiting. I've been coming to this mall my whole life, and even more so recently as it is very close to me. The renovations they have done are fantastic, and they have added some really nice stores. I do wish they would consider adding some more popular clothing stores though. There are limited options at Macomb Mall, but also in general. I also believe there are many people like myself who don't like going to Lakeside or Partridge Creek because it's not that close by. Macomb Mall has a lot of potential. read more

Walked through the mall the other day. Bad news is it is old and dirty and outdated. Good news is they are tearing down Crowleys and Dicks Sporting Goods is going in!!! Going to tear down Silver Cinema too...a new cinema is going in, I hope it is Emagine:) Mall is getting a major facelift outside over by Olga's! They also bought the empty Longhorn Steakhouse building and are going to do something with it. I have used this mall my entire life and do not want it to go away. Granted I haven't been to this mall in about 6 years, was surprised with the renovation they did in that time. Really polished the turd on that one. All they really did was take out some good restaurants that were bringing in the revenue for that mall. Still the same seedy people walking around the mall that make the place unappealing. Some of the stores that are still there are definitely keepers and the employees of those independently owned stores are very friendly, but no meal staff to be seen to maintain the property. Only would really go to this place if I had to for something. Would never go back just to go. read more

Still a good mall! This mall is not so bad as many reviews make it sound! While it does lack a food court (currently) it has many popular stores such as American Eagle, Hot Topic, GNC, Old Navy and Spencer's! There are food places, both restaurants and small all up eateries. Department stores, being Macy's and Sears. It even has a pet store AND a cheap show movie theatre! The mall is currently undergoing beatification and revitalization efforts but won't get anywhere if people only showcase the few small negative attributes and never shop there! read more

Love how the mall has really turned around the past few years!! It looks great. Now with the At Home store open, it gives me another reason to go back when I'm visiting family and friends. For the people that complain about not having a bookstore, media, toys, etc... you don't see those stores around anywhere due to Amazon and other discount retailers. This was the mall my in-laws shopped at back in the day. Went there a couple times with the wife, was really showing it's age.

I used to go here way before it got remodeled, I don't know what it's like now but it used to be a hustlers playground.
