Terrible company they do not follow through have not been serviced in a week. Customer service is even worse.

Long-time customer and their service just seem to worsen by the year. Just this month, I got missed twice and every time I called for them to come back, the rep would say the service order is sent but no one comes. We get serviced on Thursdays and the first time, they didnt come until Wednesday the following week, and the second time, they just came the Thursday next week after. Everyone else on my street is serviced except us. The prices seem to increase every other week and also, we did not know they automatically renew contracts, binding you to them for another 3 years, no cancellation without having to pay a huge sum of money or unless you call them in a specific window of time and they never call you to check. Every time I'd call about the contract, they'd just tell me the period is not up yet and then one day when I called them because they missed a pickup again and asked about the lease, the rep just said it was renewed last week. LRS added a "Manual Payment Fee" of $9.95 with no explanation of this fee nor a way to avoid it. They did not notify me this was going to happen in any manner. When calling customer service the first time I was answered by a foreign call center that could not assist me. The second time I called the number provided and chose to allow them to call me back. When they called back after 30 minutes I was told that I needed to speak to billing and was placed on hold for another 30 minutes. I had to hang up as an hour committed to a basic question was not something I could accommodate Bottom line LRS has poor customer service and billing practices read more

Called to discuss a bill. The Representative had a nasty attitude for no reason. She ignored my request for reconciliations​ of over billing from LRS. When I asked for a Supervisor she hung up on me. How rude!!! read more

They acquired Strohm 2 or 3 years ago. They had us sign a new contract when they took over and locked us into a contract for 5 years but didn't disclose that they would be increasing our rates. They do not offer a locked price rate. Our service fees have increased 230% over the last 2 years. We cancelled, sent a termination letter 4 weeks ago, they sent our liquidated damages letter 5 weeks later. Their bins are still on our property alongside our new service provider, and they are still charging us for services. read more

I have been a long time customer. They handle waste removal at my Multi family property. They have ignored me and my property for the entire month of February 2021 thus far. Garbage is piling up! No service or response to my multiple calls and emails. I understand we have had 18" of snow however I have cleared the area and salted multiple times to ensure access for drivers. It is unacceptable! No service period!!! This is my first time turning to social media to vent and warn others to think twice about using this company. I received a telephone call from one of our neighbors to inform me that that this company sat a Port-a-Potty in the doorway of our church. How disrespectful and degrading is this? Our family has used LRS for five years at our multi family building. The problems started last year with missed pick ups some weeks and our dumpsters not being locked. We pay extra per month for locks on the dumpsters. The dumpsters haven't been locked now for five months. We have called numerous times to no avail. I have spoken to Marlene the manager several times she promises to take care of it and get back to me and she doesn't. This has been going on for far too long and we have switched vendors, and still waiting for LRS to come pick up their dumpsters. The customer service is horrible and the wait time for someone to answer the phone is immensely long. There are several other options in the Chicago area please use any one of them and not LRS. Let these reviews be a warning to you of what to expect from this company. They don't care about their customers! read more

This company sucks!! They took over for prairie land garbage, and now they want to charge an arm and leg for everything. And will pick up garbage apparently all the way til 7p.m. after business hours, so make sure you leave your garbage out so you don't get charged $15 for them to come back out because you were unaware they worked that late. And this is day 3 of still waiting when I was assured they would be picked up by day two and yes people, I am still getting charged the $15. Also, they for whatever reason said the job was completed last night but I'm staring at 6 lawn bags and 1 full yard bin. This company has been awful so far. Let's not even begin to mention I didn't get two bills from them the first two times they converted. And sqirrels had a field day eating our garbage truck and I was told this time I will not be charged but next time I will and that I can get some stuff to detur them away, when I asked for suggestions she couldn't give me any... so yes, I do not care for this crappy service!! Worse than 1 star Our service was outsourced to this company and they were to be less expensive and customer service focused! Hah! We paid them for a year and when we were moving I called to stop the service. We did not use their trash barrel but ours with the 'stickers' which we were assured was just fine. Come to find out, we were paying for services never rendered because we were using the stickers and our receptacle, they pick up the recycling for free! They admitted this was an error but they could not authorize a refund until 'management' approved and they would have to verify with the drivers that we were using the stickers! You can guess how this went, 8 phone calls and still. 'the driver is pretty sure there was our can out so nothing we can do about a refund.' OK, so I would make this up for fun? And to cap it off, they are service provider at our new address. We tried to get by without using them for 2 months but finally had to break down and start their services. Well, at least we tried. They have not picked up our refuse that has stickers on everything for 2 weeks. They have not dropped off a recycling bin that we requested. They are just awful! If you have any other option, take a look at these ratings and see what you'll be dealing with! They are beyond awful. This company is rude from top to bottom, I called to speak to a Supervisor or manager and was told there is no one there to help me with my issue. I then asked if there's a corporate number or someone who's in charge or an owner the rude lady named Telly, not sue if that's her name nevertheless she told me there was no one that I could speak with I told her I was trying to let them know about their drivers doing side jobs for cash and holding up traffic. If I could give Lakeshore a "0" I would. Advanced Disposal outsourced our services to Lakeshore earlier this year and everything went to hell. We have received a total of $2000 in citations from inspectors regarding the trash. They consistently pick up the garbage late, forget to pick up the garbage and on top of that, they are raking it in as every time they pick up (late), they assess a $25 extra fee for over full dumpster when it is their fault in the first place that they are picking up late. They basically don't care about the customer. We incurred thus far a total of $625 in over full dumpster fees. Ugh!!! read more

I used them for my home in Riverwoods, which I'm in the process of moving out of. From start to stop, the entire process has been seamless! I set up by phone, with a live, sweet lady. They bill quarterly to my credit card- And bins were delivered as promised! Cancellation was just as easy- Katie Linares helped me process and could not fave been more delightful!!! Pricing was fair, customer service was top notch, and my bins were emptied even when snowmageddon wreaked havoc! Thank you for exemplary service all around!! read more

About once a year I use Lakeshore recycling systems and every time I get great customer service. When I called on Tuesday I spoke with Jessica who took all my information and was very professional. This morning when I had the container dropped off Damian went above and beyond to make sure that my container was in the right place it was easy to access. This company ignores one way streets and their employee drivers will go irate on you and sit in a stand still for you not backing all the way down the street when they are in the wrong. I've complained about this issue and the drivers still ignore street direction markings. The only thing left is to wait and block their truck and call the police on them. read more

The garbage pickup side is fine but the recycling side is horrendous! I pay extra for recycling and at least 20% of the time the driver FAILS to do his job and pick up my recycling and then he lies to dispatch and tells them my bin was not out. I am forced to take pictures of my bins out at the curb to disprove his lies. I'm done paying for this service, I'll just walk it across the street to the city recycle bin. read more

I have never used their services, but today I witnessed a semi-sized truck owned by this company completely block the road at the exact same time our elementary school of 400 kids was letting out. Parents couldn't drive home, kids on bikes didn't know what to do, and the driver refused to move his vehicle. He even laughed at me as I pleaded with him that kids were in danger. He actually mocked me and tried to record me on his smartphone. Terrible ethics, terribly unsafe, and an injury to a child or adult waiting to happen. Avoid avoid avoid. It was so egregious that I called our police, and follow up action is happening. read more

I was driving behind one of their trucks on Ashland ave and this guy just slams on brakes and almost causes huge accident . Some lady was walking across street and he starts swearing at her and I was next to him . Low cost waste and recycling services. Drop off to their facility for the lowest cost or you can order a dumpster and pull all of your junk and trash in it for them to pick up. Always on time and friendly. Great for cleaning up that messy attic, garage, basement, or vacant property. read more
