Needed a dumpster to throw out a bunch of junk during our move. Got quotes from 3 different companies and Affordable Dumpsters was the lowest quote so we went with them. The beginning process of reserving a dumpster was painless. I needed a dumpster to be delivered the next day and they had availability. Also needed a permit since this is in Chicago and for an extra $100, they take care of that process. Just needed the dumpster for the weekend so permit for 3 days that's $100, anything over that up to a month is $150. Then the issues started trickling in. I called early the next day to confirm what time the dumpster was coming and they said it could come at any time during the day. There wasn't even a window of time that they could give as they didn't have access to the dumpster dispatch. Thought that was very inconvenient but okay. Next issue was we ordered the dumpster for Friday - Sunday. Said they don't work weekends so earliest they can pick up was Monday but the original rep only charged me for a 3 day permit but I was told I should have been charged for 4 - so they made me pay the extra $50 for their mistake and would not waive it. Since this was an emergency and last minute I rolled with it. Dumpster came at 10am the day I needed it. We were able to complete our move. Now it's Monday and I called to confirm the pickup. Now the dumpster is parked on a city street and in order for them to be able to pick up the dumpster, I needed to reserve at least 2 parking spots in front. I was told it takes at least 1-3 days for them to pick up the dumpster so we had to be on call and nearby to move our cars when the pick up was going to occur. Again, no window was given as to when the dumpster would get picked up. We waited all of Monday and finally customer service confirmed it wasn't going to be Monday but Tuesday instead! So we were not able to move our cars again for another day as Affordable Dumpster charges you an extra $250 if the dumpster is blocked by other parked cars. So we had to be on call for all of Tuesday basically waiting for these people to pick this up. I called a bunch of times to plead with the people to put my pickup as a priority. That didn't help. They basically couldn't do anything. Only the manager had access to try to call dispatch but the best he could do was leave them a message. I realized that is where the pricing difference comes in. They do not own their own dumpsters and contracts out Waste Management to pick up and drop off. This is the reason why they have no damn clue as to when the dumpster would be dropped off or picked up. I would have been better off paying the extra $100 that the other 2 companies charged - and the difference is that I would have known exactly when drop-off and pickup would have been and I would have been able to plan accordingly instead of waiting around and wasting time. Highly do NOT recommend. I guess my bad for not realizing that off the bat. But you live you learn. read more

They hounded us to sign a contract and prepay while we were looking for dumpster rental companies. I ended up going with them, verified over the phone, signed and pays the $500 for a 30 yard. Dumpster. 10 minutes later they cLled me and said they didn't have a dumpster for me, so they were bringing me a 20 cubic yard dumpster. I said I needed, and paid for a 30. Or at least a 20 and a 10. They flat out said, No, we're not going to do that. I said you're taking 30% of my dumpster, I want 20% discount.they said they were only going to give me the $40 difference in price. I said no, I want my contract fulfilled. They said okay. Then Friday morning arrived, and no dumpster. Saturday, no dumpster. Sunday, no dumpster. My wife and I had taken off Friday and my wife took off Saturday, so we could clean the house to move. We had no dumpster, just a worthless contract, and out $500. I demanded my money back, and they eventually answered and said they would start a refund this week. 0 stars. Never use this company, they use expensive fees to overcharge its customers. I rented a 15yd dumpster for $409 and they billed me $630 in so-called overweight fees. I never had this experience with any other dumpster rental company...will never use them again! read more

2nd time I try them. The first time I asked dumpster to be picked up after 3pm they came at 7am in the morning. 2nd time I said I need to be in the early morning 11am still no show up, no massage. The price seemed fair, but when the dumpster showed up it was the wrong size. I ordered 10 yard and a 20 yard was delivered. I explained to the driver it was wrong but was told that I would be charged if he had to take it back. When finished they overcharged me for the weight. It was impossible to weigh what they said. I had a very frustrating experience with Affordable Dumpsters. From the start, their communication was extremely poor. When my bank initially denied their transaction due to potential fraud, I informed them and asked that they retry the payment and keep me updated. Unfortunately, I never received any follow-up. On the scheduled day of delivery, I was surprised to learn--only after I called them--that the payment still hadn't gone through. I provided a different card from another bank, but then I was told that the 20-yard dumpster I had reserved wouldn't be available until the following Monday. I had spent weeks planning this job, and their lack of communication completely derailed my schedule. What made it worse was the repeated back-and-forth phone calls that often led to voicemails with no response. There was no acknowledgment on their part for the failure in communication or the inconvenience caused. Eventually, I canceled my order with them and went with a far more professional and responsive company called Bin There Dumped That--a much smoother experience from start to finish. Scam company. They don't own any dumpsters, they rent them from reputable companies and then give you a lower price upfront, then the only allow you a small weight limit and change you for additional weight which is double the total cost that you initially quoted! read more
