They also have a lot of CDs, VCR tapes, magazines, and many more items I was unable to explore on this visit. We were on our way to a concert and I had about 30 minutes to look for a few music books, which I found with the staff's help. I have to say that the staff were great and knew exactly where they kept the music books, good job! It's good to know this store has a variety of music books to choose from and for the most part they are organized well, except the ones on the floor. You just have to dig a little. I chose two Faber level III piano books and a Bastien level III piano technique book. The Bastien book was only $2 but it has a lot of notes from previous students. The two Faber books were $6 each and virtually untouched, excellent! Some of the books are on the pricey side, especially some of these old music books, they are asking $20 when the covers are missing and music score is illegible. I just don't see myself spending that much when I can put that $20 towards a brand new book series or Henle Album of exceptional quality. Regardless, I want to support local, and have been very happy with my purchase. I will return again to see what I missed on my previous visit. If you love book stores, this is a good one and definitely worth the stop.

It's so nice of them to host something like this esp during the summer. They even carry Catan to try out which Ive never played and wanted to but well have to see if I can catch someone else playing it so I can learn from them.. lol. Also, the owner was very welcoming and I appreciated how the atmosphere felt here. They also have a big wall of what you can tell are very good selections and my boys were impressed with all the latest and greatest comics they carry. In a time where we see less and less bookstores, it is good to see such a great bookstore in our community. Wall of Books is a refreshing glimpse into that wonderful institution of a bookstore. Once upon a time, bookstores were a part of the shopping landscape, just like record stores. That pesky internet has changed a lot of businesses and businesses like bookstores and record shops are more of a unique and rare sighting than a regular business that you see everywhere. It is good to see Wall of Books and I would definitely recommend a visit here.

Bajalia has lots of very unique items, some beautiful, some puzzling, and some avant garde/over my head, yet interesting. I've gotten several gorgeous bangles here, as well as an amazing ring from Turkey, and a super, super pretty scarf. The items change seasonally, so check back every couple months to see what's new. I loved what they had in the winter, but the summer items are a bit too neon and bright for me. Still, it's definitely worth checking out. Prices range throughout the store, but the err on the side of being a bit pricier than I'm accustomed to. Granted, I'm used to Claire's and Target pricing, which says pretty much nothing. They have several good sales throughout the year, and if you become a fan of their Facebook page and join the mailing list, you'll be alerted as to when these occur. The store is on the south end of Park Ave. by Tutti Frutti and near Rollins. It's similar to Ten Thousand Villages, but the items a bit more interesting and unique (and expensive). (By expensive I mean bangles can run anywhere from $5 to $60, and scarves are generally over $40, probably closer to $50 or $60. This is pretty standard for many items that are Fair Trade, and I think the quality here is higher than some other places I've seen, both in-store and online.)

FINALLY had a Saturday off, and I'm so sad I wasn't able to make it out here before now. I also brought a bag of books to sell. The processing for the books I brought took about 30 minutes (it was an IKEA bag FULL, I just needed to transfer to one of their bins). That gave me time to look around and see what they might have. Not all of my books were accepted, which was fine, because the reason this place is so big and yet does such good business is that the books are well currated to ensure that they are desirable. Older books, or less desirable are kept down to one copy, whereas more popular books may have three or four of the same book, but the book is popular enough that it will be sold. Value wise, the rare, signed, and first editions area is VERY reasonably priced. Value for books brought in is given as either cash (I was given a lesser amount this way) or store credit I walked out with a few of the sequels of book series I have the first and maybe second of, but this way I could complete the series for less. I also found a few books on my TBR that were available. Books are indeed at used book prices, not hugely marked up, so overall I considered the visit a huge win. Overall, I guess my complaint is only that this is the only location, and I wish there was a sister store more toward central or even the west side of Orlando.

But a few times a year, we have Customer Appreciation Warehouse Sale Events, which we shorten to CAWSE - these are open to educators like principals, librarians, and teachers, or anyone who works at or volunteers at schools. Home schoolers are welcome too. Don't be expecting your Saks Fifth shopping experience, folks - this is a warehouse after all. It could be hot in the summer, cold in the winter. Shopping carts, if you're lucky enough to snatch one, are liable to be rickety and a little rusted. The merchandise is not for the most part attractively displayed, nor is there a rhyme or reason as to how they are arranged - at least not one that the uninitiated will understand. But the selection and PRICE are tremendous. Most items are 50% off during CAWSE, with only a few select new and prized merchandise being 'only' 20% off. We take credit cards, cash, and purchase orders, and the staff are helpful and friendly if you can track one down. Check it out if you're qualified to shop here!

There was some good, some bad, some - maybe you just need to stop in yourself and see. I'm also one to support small local businesses, so I want to take this shop for what it is and give it a chance! First, there is clearly no A/C in this shop - I came in around 11am on a weekday and it was SWELTERING hot inside. So keep that in mind... definitely maybe visit earlier in the day or later (at least during the summer). They had mainly African American literature and children books. They had a pretty wide selection of both considering how small the shop was! I didn't look through everything, but I also saw a good selection of best-sellers. The books didn't seem that discounted, they were mainly new. I did notice that there were some used books as well. The shop owner seemed nice and was reading behind the counter while I perused. All in all, it seemed like an okay shop - if you're looking for African American authors, I'd most certainly check out this shop because they had a wide selection.
