I was very polite and professional. People go through hard times and are late on paying bills, It happens. But when calling her to make a payment she was never there, she would never call my family back and the one time she did she wouldn't take a payment over the phone . Then she goes on vacation for 2 weeks, so we couldn't pay the bill. When my family finally gets her on the phone to let her know we were coming to pay in full and empty the unit she wouldn't except it and closed the account. I am pretty sure she needs to send a certified letter to let us know that she closed it and we did not receive one. Also, I believe and I could be wrong that the unit has to be in default 90 days before it goes to auction. Kate also said some alarming things like "Some of your stuff has already been sold and your personal effects will be burned", (personal effects like photos and birth certificates and these items are suppose to be returned to the leasee of the unit). Now, she shouldn't even be going through the unit. She should be putting two locks on the unit and waiting for the auction. So I asked her, when will you be having the auction? Her reply was "We are not having one, your family's belongings will be thrown away"!!! I kept my cool during this conversation and tried to explain how important this stuff was. My grandparents passed away last year and their things were in there and apologized for the late payment and told her that due to the deaths my family was torn and grieving and communication was not good and that's why the payment was late. I said we would pay extra on top of the late fee and amount owed. She said that the facility will not do business with my family and we all have been rude to her and we are harassing her. I recorded the phone conversation. I am so glad I did. Now we are going to consult with an attorney to see if we have a chance of getting our stuff back. I don't recommend this place to anyone. I was treated poorly, in the contract all it says is you will be charged a late fee. Its should say : We take your things if your late 15days or more and throw away the rest. I believe that they are thieves and stole our stuff because it was expensive items. I know that they do not practice Maine state storage unit law's because if they did then this wouldn't be happening.

Prices were raised from $102/month to $200 in 2020 then continued to go up $40/year for no reason. Unit was overrun with mice and ceiling was caving in. They put a red lock on my unit accidentally and it took 3 months and a letter from the Better Business Bureau to finally get a locksmith out there. DO NOT STORE ANYTHING HERE.

We were pleased with the service then and decided to use them again to load our moving truck in April 2023. We were quoted for 2 movers for two hours for $518 which we paid. I suspected a price increase given inflation over the last few years so this number was acceptable, though high. However, days after our move they charged our card nearly $300 more, without approval. I attempted to call and email for a phone call which they would not return. They sent an email break down of the bill that showed three movers and 13 minutes over the two hours. They did send 3 movers as opposed to the two quoted (two were in training) and this was not a request we made. Additionally the movers broke a piece of our furniture (a tv stand that we ended of giving to one of them) and tore a hole in our couch. We went over the time by 13 minutes. This company is corrupt and the management are thieves. DO NOT USE. You'd be better off posting in your neighborhood site for some young adults needing to make some extra money as opposed to having your money stolen from you later. I work hard and this company is disgusting.
