This place is a bit of a time capsule. No drive-thru, one window for ordering and another one for pick-up, a loudspeaker is used to call out your name when your order is ready and no inside dining (lots of picnic tables though). I got their Laker Burger, which was great but a little too much food for little old me. The fries and onion rings were both mighty fine. My wife's fish sandwich had fish sticking out of both sides and was as good as you are likely to get from a burger joint. This place is impossible to go to!!! Their hours are insane and it feels like they are rarely open. It is out of the way for us to go to, and there have been numerous times that we will drive out of our way, only to find out it's closed, putting us 30 minutes out and still having to decide on a dinner spot. Last time we went, we called to make sure they were open. They said yes, so we left and drove straight there, only to find out that they had "decided to close early because business was slow" in the 30 minutes between our phone call and us getting there. We decided to give it one last chance today. We checked the website, which said open until 9 pm. We called to verify and got put on hold for 10 minutes. We ended up deciding to just drive there. We get to the window at 6:03 and they inform us that they stopped serving food at 6:00!! First of all, you could make food 3 minutes ago, but you can't make food now? Second of all, you're telling me you stop serving dinner at dinner time? Ridiculous I like this place's food but it is simply not worth the hastle of driving all the way there only to find out that they are closed, even when it is within their business hours. It has become such a regular occurrence that my family will not be making the trip out there anymore. Sorry Lakers but you've lost some long time loyal customers because you simply can't be open when you're supposed to be. read more

Grew up close to here. Very nostalgic. I decided to try it after almost a decade and was blown away. Shakes and burger were just as good as I remembered. Staff was super friendly answering my questions about the milkshake options. Wait time wasn't "fast food quick", but still pretty close. The outside benches to eat were clean too. read more

Ordered a couple cheeseburgers advertised at 3.99. Gentleman that was taking order asked what we wanted on it and we said everything would be fine. Also had an order of fries added at 3.49. When our bill came out to almost 15.00 I questioned the man on the amount that it came out to be and informed us that it was that high because we ordered the cheeseburgers DELUXE by wanting everything on them. There is no place on the menu that indicates this! Gentleman could have been a little friendlier and the cheeseburger was the worst tasting piece of frozen garbage I have had in a long time. read more

This old school drive in has been around for years. We love their thick creamy milkshakes. We got a snack this time and milkshakes. I ordered the munchies bits a tater tot with cheese inside and a pineapple milkshake. My kid ordered a cheeseburger and a peanut butter milkshake. There was a couple of orders in front of ours, so we waited about 10 mins. Our food was good, my kids cheeseburger was good and made to order the way he likes it. The milkshakes were thick, creamy and delicious. The munchies were something else, round crispy tater tots, with cheddar cheese inside that was melted. They were good, maybe needed a dipping sauce or something to give it more pop. But we just wanted a snack before dinner. Thanks Lakers for always being on point. read more

They have recently re-opened under new management and the food is by far the best it has been in the last 20 years! We called in an order last night for the first time since they reopened and it did not disappoint! The cheeseburgers, onion rings, and cheesy tart tots were all delicious and fresh. I honestly can't put a star rating on a place. Picked 5 stars for obvious reason but there's so much more that this little restaurant deserves. I've been there over and over and time again. Never been disappointed to date. Peanut butter milkshakes....they're to die for here. Burgers, chuckwagons, French fries, loaded tater tots and onion rings are just to name a few. For all that I've eaten there, I keep coming back time and time again. I haven't eaten everything their menu has to offer but if I was a betting man, I'd bet you that you wouldn't be disappointed. This is an old school dairy freeze and I love it! I drive all the way out there when I crave a burger and a milkshake! I love their burgers & fries, and the shakes are sooooo good !! The lettuce, tomato, and onions are always fresh on the burger, which is a make or break for me! The shakes are made the old fashioned way. There is no inside seating, it's walk-up ordering, but you can sit at the picnic tables outside, and yes, you're going to wait a little while for your food, but that's because it is fresh! No heat lamps or any of that. The only thing that's missing is a car hop to bring out the food!! read more

I hate to put a bad review about this place but I feel I must. My family and I have credit on restaurant.com and we purchased a 10 dollar off certificate to laker drive in. When I got there I handed the lady my phone and she said that she could not accept the coupon unless it was printed. I of course didn't drive all the way out to timbuctoo packing a printer with me so I said, if you read this, it says that I am to show you this and you are to press the validate button on my phone and then the certificate will go through. They were adamant that they couldn't honor the certificate. they preceded to call their boss and were told that they could indeed honor it but they would have to call restaurants.com to confirm that my coupon was valid first before pressing validate . She then looked at me and said, you have to get the number so we can call. Well my phone had really poor service and I wasn't able to go online to search. I was then told that I would not be able to use my certificate unless i could get them the phone number (why was that my responsibility? They were the ones who had signed up with the service). They said that they had subscribed to this service but had meant to quit it because they were having problems like this. I finally told the lady that she needed to honor it and to call her boss, she got upset and called the manager and the manager told her to just honor it. The lady was very rude after that and shut the window on us. By then we ate cold food that was not that great. I really hope nobody experiences the poor customer service that I had there. It was not worth it. They also said that they have had problems with other customers not bringing printed copies. They should not be offering this service to customers if they can't honor it. And it clearly stated on my certificate that you do not need a printed out copy. I wasted gas and valuable time :( read more
