Damn! Could have sworn I reviewed this already but guess not. I came here almost ten years ago. It was in October but it was a nice day and not too cold. I, like most people came here to visit the Master and his son. It wasn't too hard to find and their tombstones are beautiful. There was no one there when we were there, reading other reviews it could be quite busy. I mean who doesn't know Bruce Lee? If you are a Bruce/Brandon Lee fan I would recommend checking it out. The only thing I can say is be respectful and not touch or drape yourself all over his grave like some people do in pics I seen. I think that's totally disrespectful. This is where my parents chose for their final resting place. 3 months ago, my mom passed away and Julie Lundquist has been a huge help in assisting with the process. From picking out the urn, designing the stone and to plan the placement, Julie has been very patience and informative. My dad changed his mind a few times and not only she did not rush us, she understood how difficult the situation and has been very patience with us. A lovely cemetery, definitely worth a visit. Probably best known as the gravesite of Bruce and Brandon Lee. We enjoyed our visit.

While most cemeteries are devoid of inhabitants as celebrated as Bruce Lee, each one of them contains innumerable stories, each one like a thread that links us, in the present, to the grief and loss of those that have gone before us, and those that mourn them still, woven together like fabric. Life and death collide here, on holy ground, along with their constant companions: memory, introspection, and contemplation. "Don't neglect life by worrying about Death. - I don't know what is the meaning of death, but I am not afraid to die - and I go on, non-stop, going forward [with life]. Even though, I, Bruce Lee, may die some day without fulfilling all of my ambitions, I will have no regrets. I did what I wanted to do and what I've done, I've done with sincerity and to the best of my ability. You can't expect much more from life." The man summed it up himself, in the best way possible. You know you came here to visit and honor the shrine to the man who inspired many of us to greatness, but that is not the only reason to visit Lake View. Not only are the grounds sculpted and maintained with precision and care, the view of the surrounding countryside, particularly at sunrise or sunset (the birth and death of each day) is a breathtaking thing to behold. Even so, the true beauty here is the stories told, and untold, in the names, the dates, and the memorials erected for the fallen and beloved. Let's face it. 99% of you come here for one reason only. And his name rhymes with Luce Bree. I happened to be in the area visiting a friend and former San Diego Yelper Melissa M., who now resides in Capitol Hill. During downtime in the trip while my girlfriend was getting her hair did, I went ahead and WALKED directly to his tomb. Admittedly, it wasn't exactly a close walk, but for some, it's completely do-able. It's open to the public, and there is no admission fee. It's not like it's an attraction or anything like that. It's a normal cemetery, after all. What is the best way to get there once entering the cemetery? Head straight ahead. Once the road starts to turn, keep going straight ahead through the grass towards the flag pole. Before you reach the road up there, you will likely see a crowd of people gravitating towards it. We organically formed a line in order to get a good position in plain view of the tombstones. Many even took pictures with them. I personally wanted no pictures of them with my face, smiling like a fool. We're talking about the greatest who ever lived with his son by his side for eternity. As for the rest of the place, the tombstones and graves are actually very nice, depending on what the loved ones have decided to purchase and decorate the plot. The grass gets fairly dry because of the weather, but it's not a problem. Is there any place to park? I personally didn't see any, as there are only roads that sift through the cemetery. I would personally park outside the cemetery and just walk in. read more

So want to hear a story? I book marked this place because I was going to be in Seattle and I'm a big fan of Bruce and Brandon Lee. Then upon entering, I realized I didn't know where to go. Crapola. So I asked myself, if Brandon and Bruce was here, where would they be buried? I was thinking maybe somewhere highup. Guess what? I was right. So you stay on the right side and you go up. Their grave sight is not at the very top but very close to it. If you do this and get close to the top, it would be on the left. Lucky for me, I did see two guys that didn't fit the norm. The Lee's headstone does stand out a bit more than others. It was my turn to say Hi to the Lee's after the two guys took an mid air roundhouse kick picture (I'm not shitting you) in front of the tombstone. Getting here is mostly by residential. A few years ago, my best friend and his family came to this cemetery to pay their respects to Bruce Lee and his son. Since then I've been meaning to visit and give the same condolence. One of my friend's that I was with visited their grave site so it wasn't too much trouble to find their location. Venture to the middle of the cemetery and find the flagpole. Once you have done that you pretty much have hit the touchdown mark. Spend as little or as much time to grace the beauty and calm serenity. My friend placed flowers and we said a silent prayer. A unique collection of items has been placed over the years. One of them was one of the first ever Nintendo Gameboys lying by Brandon Lee's tomb. Other tombstones are worth taking a look. Many groups of families are buried together and they stand out on their own. I'm not much of a big fan of cemeteries, but this is definitely one of the few that it is worth checking out. read more

A lot of people come here to see the grave site for Bruce & Brandon Lee..... the grave site is up the hill, under a big tree, or you can just look where all the cars/crowd are gathering about. Maybe its just me, but I dont think its respectful to be all leaning, arms all over on the head stones, putting their heads in between the head stones, all touching it, being all loud and obnoxious just to take a photo. My wife and I stopped here to pay our respects to the late Bruce Lee and his son Brandon Lee. Entrance is free and one can walk the grounds on their own without a tour guide like in New Orleans, LA. Free shoulder parking can be found on-site. The grave sites are located on top of the hill. Follow the paved road to the circular area and US flag. The sites are also located behind a beautiful heart shaped head stone. The grounds are well manicured and the cemetery is expansive, peaceful and gorgeous. One of the Advantage I took when I was in Seattle is to stop by Bruce and Brandon Lee's Grave. The Cementery is open to public from 9 AM thru 4 PM (Varies seasonal, check website for times). The cementery is very neat, clean. The Lee's grave is not noticeable until I found out thru Yelp Reviews and Foursquare is to find a Big White Heart (which is from another person's Grave) and you will find them behind. Since I didn't see anyone (and also went at 9 AM). It wasn't obvious where to find them. It was very sentimental to see the Legend of Jeet Kune Do Bruce Lee Died such a young age. Along his Son Brandon they were next to each other. Coming here provides a calming and introspective feeling, all while set in a beautiful environment filled with lush greenery and trees on top of Capitol Hill. The grave site sits towards a higher elevation of the cemetery, and is hidden around some bushes. We love the fact that there's no signage leading to the grave sites; reflective of the honor that Bruce Lee would have wanted. It's a really respectful gesture. The adages on the bench are thoughtful and inspiring; gives you new perspective on life. Food is always placed and people of all cultural backgrounds come to pay their respects. Rating a cemetery feels a little odd but I'm an old school goth so I guess it's not THAT odd. The views are gorgeous and they were founded in the late 1800s as the Seattle Masonic Cemetery. Shortly after its founding, it was renamed to Lake View Cemetery because of the picturesque eastern views of Lake Washington. There are notable grave sites including Princess Angeline, the founder of Nordstrom, John W. Nordstrom, members of the Denny Party like Carson Boren, Arthur A. Denny, David Swinson "Doc" Maynard, and Thomas Mercer. Perhaps the most famous interments are Bruce Lee and his son, Brandon Lee. People from all over the world visit their sites and leave small mementos. I've always wondered what they do with those tokens. If you take the time to visit the Lees, stop in the office and sign the guestbook. I signed it once and haven't each subsequent time. There is a Buddhist area and an area devoted to former prisoners of internment camps. You can also pay tribute at the Nisei War Memorial Monument, dedicated in 1949, or stroll around the well-manicured grounds. Pay close attention to the hours of operation. They close the gates promptly and will not allow people entry. I won't list their hours because it varies seasonally. read more

There's two graves there one for Bruce and one for his son. Both were around 30 years old when they passed. Bruce lee was born in San Francisco but buried in Seattle. Lake View Cemetery is one of Seattle's hidden gems if you have exhausted your visits to all the touristy spots in Seattle or if you are looking for something different that's affordable to visit. What's great about the Lake View Cemetery is that quiet and so far away from all the tourists, that unless you know what's here or come to pay visits to a person who knew, you probably won't even think of coming here. For our group, the goal was to pay a visit to Bruce Lee (and Brandon Lee--Bruce Lee's son)'s graves. The graves were next to each other and were sort of hidden in the back, that unless you know where they are located, it'd probably take you a while to locate them. When we visited, we saw a few people looking for Bruce Lee's grave as well. Looking from some fresh flowers left on their grave, it was actually quite nice to see that even all these times have passed, there were still people paying visits their peaceful graves. Beautiful. Peaceful. Best part of our trip. We stayed at Hotel Five in Downtown Seattle and since that's a bit of a walk compared to a 15 min car ride we dec'd to "Lyft" it over. Not bad at all. Staying in downtown, you're not able to see much else outside of that so the drive there was a bit of a treat. The neighborhood was gorgeous. Huge beautiful homes and the people were quite friendly. For some reason my GPS was on the fritz the entire trip so I was having a difficult time trying to find Bruce and Brandon Lee's resting place. By some miracle, a gentleman by the name of Andrew happen to be right at the exact spot that we needed to be and overheard us as we were walking around trying to find our destination and offered a "Bruce is over here!". Kismet... We were meant to find one another! Andrew was insanely friendly and full of facts about Bruce Lee that we would not have known had he not been there. Andrew mentioned that there is another headstone, white, just in front of Brandon's headstone (facing his, really) and it is the headstone of Linda's (Bruce's wife) Mother & Stepfather, Vivian and Willard Dickinson. And about 15-20 steps away (from Brandon's headstone) are two of Bruce's students, Jesse Glover and Edward Hart. Without Andrew, there was NO WAY that we would have known these little tidbits of information that added to an experience that was already so great! After we paid our respects, we dec'd to walk around the cemetery. Having this morbid fascination with cemeteries and how crazy peaceful cemeteries could be, this cemetery was no different! The view is amazing at the top of the hill, in the distance you can hear a fountain, you can see locals passing through during their jog and you can find headstones that date back to the 1800's to some key players of those who made what Seattle is today. I wish that I did more research prior to my trip but this was definitely the highlight of my trip! The Gist: Be ready to use a map app the old school way, by reading it and not by the directions that are given to you, or better yet, print one out before you get there. There was a constant flow of visitors coming to Bruce's grave so you won't find yourself alone for the time that you're there. One tip that I can offer to you is: like any cemetery, there is grass, dirt and water EVERYWHERE. Do not come in heels, do not come dressed fancy-- it's a cemetery, it's outdoors and not only by walking through the cemetery but where you sit, you can expect to get a LITTLE dirty. read more

We visited "Uncle Bruce". Bruce Lee is my bro's idol so we made it a priority to visit Bruce and Brandon and pay our respects. We purchased flowers from Pikes, and it was about a 10 min drive North. Our second visit to the grave site and this time it was in the snow!!! After circling for a few mins, we finally came across the burial site. The site is hidden if you're not familiar with the cemetery. It's located straight up the middle using the flagpole as your landmark. The grave is behind some bushes just on the hill below the flag. Luckily, there was no one else visiting so we were able to pay our respects in peace. We left flowers and took pics. I really wanted to find Nordy's grave but we were late for a luncheon and it was snowing pretty hard at the time. read more

Came back here to visit the Lees' graves for a second with a different group of people and still took awhile to find it but we finally did. These tombstones are absolutely gorgeous. Cemeteries really are peaceful places and so I took a bunch of random photos of the really outstanding graves. People also don't know that John W. Nordstrom was buried here as well. We found that one by chance and took a few shots of those. I mean if it wasn't for the Nordstrom family... women around the U.S. would not be adorned with gorgeous heels. Bruce Lee has always been a great idol, and the death of his son is so sad. It was a honor to pay my respects and also take my little nephew who is in karate and looks up to Bruce Lee. And for the gentleman who said karate is more Chuck Norris, martial arts is martial arts, there are just different forms, so to say my nephew does karate and wanted to pay his respects doesn't compare to Bruce Lee but that of Chuck Norris is just ignorant. I love cemeteries! This one is beautiful. I made a point of visiting during my first trip to Seattle. The grounds were very well taken care of. Gorgeous trees and a great view of the city. I didn't even know the Lees were buried here til I did more research on why this was a tourist attraction. So I visited their resting sites like any fan would. Lots of trinkets on both graves. There were an obscene amount of crows at this cemetery which given Brandons final movie seemed kinda creepy. I liked the lil old man calling and feeding them. Seemed like he did it often.
