Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills - Welcoming and beautiful entrance

I would like to give a Very Unique & Special Thanks to Rose Hodge who works with Purdy & Walters at…read moreFloral Hills ( Dignity Memorial ) in Lynnwood, Washington and in reality, the entire staff as well. Losing someone special is always tough, as I lost my best friend and/or sister ( Roz ) in August. The cancer was pretty tough and finally got to her in the long run. But now her pain is over and she's up resting now above us all in a much better place. I will always miss her. I had gone to several cemeteries in the general Seattle or North Seattle areas and met only one person who just stuck out and really made me feel comfortable and was absolutely great to work with. Rose spent a lot of time with me not only finding just the right placement location for my sister Roz but ensuring the whole process was done so nicely and professionally by both Rose and all the staff out at Floral Hills. My sister now lays to rest in a Very Unique & Beautiful Little Spot in between some extremely large trees with a beautiful view down over the huge fountain area there at Floral Hills. I would love to give a very Special Thank You to Rose Hodge who was our family service advisor and director through one of my hardest times in my life, the putting to rest my sister Roz. Thank You Rose for Everything, Brian Dee

Neptune Society - Ashes in engraved box

    Neptune Society

    (50 reviews)

Please understand I am grieving my father, who I love dearly and miss so much. He passed recently,…read morein the beginning of November. I'm sorry this is so long. They hurt me. I am not doing that great. ***Please check the complaints at the Better Business Bureau.*** Neptune is *not* accredited. I am going to file a complaint there. A friend is helping me now to deal with them. I have spent nights crying over what they did. I would not trust them with anything, much less my father's remains. I wasn't even sure they would give me his ashes, it could be anybody, as far as I can tell from their practices. I could not handle looking at his urn and wondering who was in there. 1. They work on commission, and they upsell you, hard, once you have started the process of cremating your loved one. When you are vulnerable and grieving. It was a long conversation of upselling. I was just trying to understand the cremation process and when I would receive my Dad's ashes (I live in another state). I was wildly confused when they started telling me about all the things to buy and do. Like if I wanted to view my father (outrageous price to do that), it would cost hundreds more to ***put a pillow behind his head*** Not. Kidding. I literally gasped in shock and "oh my f***ing god" slipped out of my mouth. 2. They charge far (2x) more than other funeral homes/crematories. I wish, wish, wish, I had done better research. Neptune is a national company and seemed reputable. I was so wrong. 3. If issued a refund, it is wildly inadequate. My policy was $2745. They gave me $909 as refund. I researched online - they are known for being unethical with refunds. I am sure these awful people issue refunds frequently. Again, check the BBB. Look on here for other crematories the do not upsell you. I found a wonderful one, Elemental. Charged HALF, did not upsell. They told me about extra procedures they have, beyond legal requirements, for making sure the remains are of the right person. They do not work on commission. They were perfect. To Neptue Society directly: I will not stop until my refund is resolved ethically. Be aware of that. You humiliated me and caused me pain at the most difficult moment of my life. I do not allow anyone to treat me that way.

Yelp advertises the NEPTUNE Society as low priced…read more THEY DEFINITELY ARE NOT IN FACT THAT WERE HIGHER THAN ANYONE FOR CREMATION. We used Neptune years ago and they were said to be the lowest cost and I believe it was $700 to $900 and was among the lowest. I called today and was told cost was $2300.

PLEASE READ! The last thing that I want to be doing during my moment of grief is writing a review…read more However, my experience with this place was so egregious that my conscience would bother me immensely if I thought for one moment that another grieving individual would come across this place and read only the good reviews and think this is a choice for them. I have lost many people in my life from grandparents to children and many others in between, and so I have had a lot of experience in this area. In my experience, people in the funeral services business are some of the kindest, most empathetic people out there. I always considered them angels on God's mission. If you feel that way too, stay as far away from this place as possible. Below is my complete experience with elemental cremation and burial, conversation verbatim, no edits: I research their website, read google and yelp reviews, decide to call them first: Elemental: may I help you? Me: I just found out my mother passed away, I found you online and after reading your reviews, I really hope that I have called the right place. Elemental: so you want some prices? (Note: this is verbatim. No "my condolences" no "I'm sorry for your loss", nothing). Me: um. I guess. Most importantly, I'd like to speak to someone about making arrangements and having her taken care of right away. She passed away at home, and my sister is there with her right now and I'm out of state. Elemental: so you want prices then? Me: wow. Um yeah i guess but thats not my main concern. My mom has been in the house with my sister awhile so i want to know how soon you can pick her up? .....Hello? Are you still there? Elemental: hold music playing. Me: hangs up call in complete shock. For the record, I am not an overly emotional, touchy-feely, kind of person. And so I really wasn't looking for a lot sympathy wise. But given the line of work they are in I expected a little bit more than what I got especially in comparison to all of my previous experiences. I cannot imagine anyone signs up to be treated like this on such a sad day in their life. I get it, I understand that they're in the business to make money and want to make sure they get paid, but if this is how they do it, that's really sad. There are so many wonderful, compassionate, amazing places out there doing this work. Places that find gentle and respectful ways to talk to you about money while also respecting your grief. I felt like that was 101 in this business, guess i was wrong. In other words, had I stayed away from elemental cremation & burial, I would not have had to take time out of everything else that needs to be done, to sit down and write a review about this awful place. But like i said, i can't risk someone else choosing this place after reading the glowing reviews i read. No one wants to send their loved ones off with people as disrespectful as this; And no dearly departed wants their loved ones left behind to be treated like this.
