On trails I've seen birds of all different colors, eagle, deer, rabbits, fox, snakes, toads, butterflies, and owls. All wildlife seen are amazing! The trails are gravel and well maintained. There are two ways to access the beach and you are able to walk the length of it, swim, sit ect. Two Rentable campsites and 1 rentable pavilion with heat, water and bathrooms. There is also a separate restroom near the lookout tower. Trails I break down to four. A more open air one that can get hot if walking in the summer. A wooded one that is sheltered by trees, keeping you cooler. The beach trail and a smaller grass trail where you are likely to see butterflies and deer.

There is a long stairway from the main street down to the falls. There are areas to stop and rest, it is a long walk down and back up. The falls are very picturesque and it is worth the trip to see them. The water was running pretty fast during my visit. I am sure other times of the year it is much slower.

We…read morestarted out on the Butterfly path, which was short and easily walked, and then transitioned to Hemlock Ridge and finally Bluebell Valley and then back on Hemlock Ridge. Bluebell Valley had some areas that were steep and slippery and a huge flight of stairs. We got to see a snake and a deer, as well as chipmunks. There are many beautiful trees, but unfortunately the water was so low that the stream was barely running. We saw one picnic pavilion and there was a restroom. Metro Parks does a great job taking care of their parks.

We attended an awesome event (registration was required, but about 20 additional people joined) where we learned about exoplanets, how to spot them and how to help scientists locate them! I'm having a blast doing this still in my spare time (and more!) The park features a mile long replica trail of our solar system, perfect for a short family hike. Of course dogs are always welcome at the parks. There is a hill where people gather to watch the night sky on blankets, and I've seen events posted for Movies in the Park (next up is Encanto).

Having always lived in areas with high urban light pollution, I had never really seen the Milky Way…read morebefore and Observatory Park (one of the world's 55 International Dark Sky Parks) was an awesome place to have my first stargazing experience! We came on a perfectly cloudless night when the visibility was pretty close to optimal. They had two telescopes out for viewing Mars and the Orien Nebula, and we also managed to catch the ISS in orbit. Apparently there's a ~2mi astronomy trail that takes you to each of the "planets", with the distances from Earth being roughly to scale in walking distance. Got here well after sunset so it was too dark out to explore the trails but looking forward to checking them out if I'm back for the next meteor shower!

The colors of the leaves were really nice and we were able to go up the platform and see the entire arboretum. It's a great place for a walk and I'm looking forward to going in the summer as well to see the different flowers that might be there.

Recommend coming here on a nice sunny day to enjoy the hike to the fullest. We were greeted with a random encounter by a black rat snake right when we entered. This place is well maintained and offers a variety of aesthetic gardens and trails, along with several benches in each area for you to simply sit back and relax while enjoying the view. The highlight would be the Kalberer emergent tower, featuring a 120 ft structure that offers a panoramic view of the forest and Lake Erie (202 stairs to the top). The Murch canopy walk is also a must-visit spot. This is a 500 ft long elevated walkway that lets you immerse yourself in the tree canopy. We had such a great time here and will definitely be back. Tips: make sure to bring a bottle of water (there is a water refill station in the visitor center), snacks and sunglasses

Hidden gem This is…read morethe coolest park for pictures in the area. A great little hike down and you are at the river. The large rocks are perfect for taking pictures. There is a picnic area and some bathrooms but the bathrooms are very old. I remember coming to this park as a kid and being my kids as well.

This patch of green offers a nice playground for young children, a pretty outdoor pavilion that overlooks the beautiful blue waters of the lake & there's even a deck on the side of the shelter house for all to enjoy! It has nice grills if you're picnicking too. There's plenty of shade & equal amounts of sun, lots of parking & my personal fav. -it's dog friendly! It's also large enough to play a game of soccer or football. It's not far from the main strip so you can easily grab food & bring it back to enjoy as well. The perfect escape from the crowded sidewalks & noisy environment.
