Our move in experience was completely awful. We were promised our apartment would be done being cleaned/remodeled when we moved in. We tried to call multiple times in the morning before we left with our moving truck and all of our help to make sure our apartment was ready and we wouldn't be wasting our time, because we moved here from about 30 miles away but no one answered the phone. When we got here, our apartment was not clean and the things we were told that were going to be replaced, weren't (such as the bathtub, toilet, bathroom floor and the bathroom and bedroom door). A lot of the remodel was done half assed as well. The hardwood flooring does not go all the way to the wall in the corners, the base boards are not long enough to stretch the whole wall, so we're missing half the base boards. The bathroom is absolutely disgusting. There are rust stains all over inside the toilet, the bathtub has some gross stains in it, the floor and the tile on the walls look like they are original and are stained and cracked. When we got here with our moving truck and all of our help, we checked the apartment right away because something was telling me it wasn't finished...when I saw it wasn't finished I went to the leasing office and talked to Jerry. I told him the apartment wasn't finished and we are here with people to help us move and all of our belongings. I asked him what he could do to help us and he just simply motioned his hands up and down showing me what he was wearing (as he is kicked back relaxing in his office chair). I said "what are you showing me?" He said "look what I wore to work today." I said "ok, you look like you are going golfing, what is your point?" He said "look what I wore to work today, I wore this because I'm going to be helping clean all day." I said "ok great, so are you going to help people get our apartment finished?" (Mind you, it's 12:00 which is move in time). He said "no, we aren't scheduled to start cleaning until 2:00pm this afternoon, I don't know what needs to be done on our list, I don't know who is in what order." So I said "so we are supposed to just sit outside with our help and our moving truck which is rented hourly and just wait for you to MAYBE clean our apartment around 2:00, or whatever time you decide?" He said "Yup." I was so shocked that he was acting like this. I had to walk away before I blew up. I went outside and was talking to one of our helpers telling her how useless this manager was and what he told me. One of the contractors overheard me and he asked for me to show him our apartment, so I did. He was appalled that we were told we could move in, because the contractor told management our apartment wouldn't be ready yet. The contractor was very nice and threw together a crew really quick and got our apartment finished in about an hour, then we could move in. I'm so taken back at how unprofessional the staff is here. They were VERY friendly to us before we signed the lease, after we signed the lease, I felt like I was getting attitude from them. I regret signing a lease here, I don't want to have to deal with this management team, they lied to us and we don't take that lightly. I can't wait until our 13 month lease is up, because we are OUT OF HERE!!!!! read more

I currently live on the 3rd floor at the Lake Pointe Apartments. I love it so far. The office staff are very friendly and more than willing to help out with any issue or questions you may have! They have a great maintenance system online and the maintenance staff are very prompt when you submit a request. I have had to do two requests now and both times they were in and out that same day! They also give plenty of notification when they have to do whole apartment maintenance such as snow removal or inspections and so forth. The apartments themselves are nice. They have wood floors, granite counter tops and stainless steal appliance. The stoves are also gas, which I love! They are very spacious and have a ton of closet space. For the price we are paying this is a great apartment and you can't get much better. I did a lot of apartment shopping around and found that this was the best deal for what we we're getting. It's great! As far as the building itself goes and the surrounding area, it is quiet and and VERY clean. The parking lot never has trash laying around and they are a smoke free campus so no cigarette butts laying around. If someone does smokes they have to go off the campus to do so and they provide cigarette receptacles. If you love animals they do allow them and have designated buildings for people with animals so if you don't have them and/or like you don't have to live near them! They are flexible with the leases. Leasing options are 6 months and 12 months and after living there for 6 months you have the option of going month to month for $20 more dollars. I love that because it gives the renter a lot of flexibility to meet their needs wherever they are in life. The only complaint that I have is that the laundry is only on one floor, which sometimes makes it difficult to do laundry because we are sharing it with many other tenants. Also, they do break down (2 times in the 4 months that I have been here) which is somewhat understandable considering the amount they are being used but I will say they are prompt in fixing them. This issue is so minor and no place is going to be perfect! All in all, I have and will continue to recommend these apartments and I will be living here until my husband and I decide to buy a house! read more

I am a 24 year old professional who recently located to the Twin Cities for work. I was looking around for affordable housing in the north metro, and stumbled on Soderburg Apartments. I looked at several of their buildings and found that Lake Pointe best met my needs. I have noticed a lot of negative feedback on the Google reviews; I think most of it is unwarranted. Yes, you will probably see a demo unit that is 5% better than the one you get, yes, if you don't get something in writing it will not be part of the contract, some things should be common sense on the part of the renter... About Lake Pointe: They have exceptionally clean facilities, granite counters, all new stainless steel appliances, and the third floor apartment I chose has vaulted ceilings which make it feel huge! It is a peaceful quite building, there are no noisy neighbors and the whole building smells clean. I have noticed the cleaning lady comes through the halls at least one a week, much more than other facilities I have rented in. The staff are quite enduring and quick to solve any issues. My bathroom sink drawer broken in the morning, I put in a work order, and it was fixed before I got home from work! There are also ample parking spaces with in one or two rows of my building. The lots are oversized and there is always tons of parking for guests. I noticed a lot of complaints about oversized packages in the reviews. The staff stays till 6pm every night so if you make it to the office before then, you can get your package just fine. They even work some on Saturdays so its hard to complain. My only complaint is that laundry is only on one floor of the building (first floor) so I get a workout every-time I need to wash clothes. To summarize, get everything in writing, 3rd floor is the best, and in life, you typically get what you pay for. I gave 5 stars because for the money, this is one of the best North-Metro commuter apartments. read more

I am very excited to see what the finished product will look like once renovations are completed here. The changes that I've already seen are fantastic. I looked at a number of different apartments before deciding this one was right for me and since moving in I've only seen improvements. Compared to other apartment complexes I have looked at this one is by far the nicest for the price. I have never even seen an apartment that has the wood flooring and I LOVE IT! And if you would have seen what this place looked like before new management bought it you wouldn't even believe it!! Initially I was nervous about the location but we haven't had any issues so far. Being right off the highway is super nice too (one exit away from St. Louis Park, 15 minutes from downtown). When we first moved in there were a couple things that needed to be touched up in the apartment but we brought it to the office's attention and they got it taken care of for us :) Couldn't have been easier for me! The office has been very helpful and accommodating with any questions or concerns I have had. The pool and fitness center are now open which I haven't been able to use yet but they both look very nice. As far as the grounds go my dog and I love the fenced in dog park and I have heard that there is going to be a volley ball court, Frisbee golf, etc.. My neighbors are all great and super friendly. I have never lived at an apartment complex where I'm on first name basis with people. Its very nice to live in a place where people genuinely care about each other and the property. There is still work to be done but so far I couldn't be happier. read more

Could not disagree more with the other reviews! I have had only a great experience at the apartment complex. I moved here for the location and am getting much more than I was at my previous apt downtown Minneapolis. The apartment is absolutely gorgeous and staff great. Great price for what you get... beautiful kitchens!! Overall the building is quiet and is well managed for what they are trying to accomplish (there is just outside work to be done still). People need to understand this is a renovation! They are trying to remodel the whole place so maybe if everyone spent more time actually communicating with the ladies in the office before they actually settle in they can get some stuff done for the tenant. Not sure who this Jerry guy is but there are three women in the office who always are ready to take care of things, when I moved in there last month there were a couple of things to do-I had an old AC and all I had to do was ask for a new one. They told me they leave some old ones in because they still work better than a new AC but it wasn't appealing to me and that was fine. They didn't have it on hand so it had to be ordered, but all in all anything can be fixed! Everyone living on the property is extremely friendly as well which you don't always get at most other places. Most everyone I've talked to loves it here. It's always too bad when bad reviews overpower what others thing but never express online but hopefully these residents who aren't happy are at least doing more to get things fixed than just venting online. I love my apartment!! I have Soooo much closet space, tons of mirrors, stainless steel appliances, nice laminate flooring, a dishwasher, I have a dishwasher(Finally), tons of space for parking, right by the shopping center and I can get to 694 in less than 5 minutes. It's affordable and they accept pets ( I am on the lookout for a cute lapdog now :) The staff are so nice, my faucet in my kitchen had a small leak, the maintenance man was there the next day to fix it, he did a great job and was very friendly. I love the set up for the laundry machines. You can access them digitally so you know if there is one open before you go down there and can pay with your credit card (Awesome, since I hate carrying cash). I would definetly say to come take a look. I have told a few friends about my place and they are now applying and gonna be moving in soon.. Great place to live read more

I have been apartment searching for what seems like forever!!! When I came across Lake Pointe I was skeptic at first considering this used to be a sore spot for the area. But, since the location was pretty much perfect for my needs I decided to go take a look anyway. I was blown away with how different the property is from before. The apartments were updated a few years ago and look great, the pool was refinished and looks amazing, they added a sand volleyball court if that's something you like to do. They accept pets and are pretty reasonably priced. My main thing was the location. They are right off the bus line and near all the basic needs stores... I'm pleased I was approved and will be moving in soon.. Way to go to the new property owners for making this a nice place to live.. read more

I rented a 3rd floor apartment. It has vaulted ceilings and very nice upgraded flooring and appliances. I am very pleased with my decision. The main thing that drew me into this property is the location. I know, I know it's been known as the rough part of town to some, but i was very pleased with all the safety features they have on the property, like locked enterances, cameras, on site caretakers, 24 hr on call maintenance etc. These apartments are smack dab in the middle of everything your going to need. CVS for perscriptions, Cub foods for groceries, Walmart for houshold items, clothing stores, shoe stores, food places, LA fitness, right on the bus line and easy access to the main highways. after being approved, and seeing the beautiful apartments, It was a no brainer for me. read more

I searched and searched and searched for a nice apartment that was affordable and would accept my Large dog, It was so hard to find! I was getting frustrated. When I found Lake Pointe I was relieved for sure. The apartments are renovated with new flooring, stainless steel appliances, nice cupboards and light fixtures. The bedroom is big and there is so much closet(storage) space. The property is in a prime location! I can hop right on the highway and get where ever I need to be. The best perk for me was they accepted Large dog breeds and even have a fenced in dog park so you can let them run for awhile. The rent is on the higher end of my budget, but it was still in my budget! The staff was very friendly, I would recommend these apartments to anyone. read more

I have been here a few years now and am definitely please with the new property owners and all they have done to clean this place up. You may have known this property to be of the "Bad Part" of the neighborhood, but that is not so. They have remodeled all apartments and the landscaping on site. they also managed to weed through the bad tenants and try their hardest to make sure the new tenants moving in are upstanding citizens and will follow all property rules. I can talk openly with the staff Heidi and Becky about anything and all concerns are addressed. The maintenance man is very friendly and easy to approach, he waves at EVERYONE who passes him and gets issues handled very fast. i highly recommend this property read more

After a week or so maintenance finally came by to give us new flooring and toilet. Still no work order paper or notification of maintenance or management coming by. Which I read by law they have to notify us of them coming into out unit. So far I've counted at least 3 times in which my only proof is things moved around or the bathroom fixed up. It seems as though we'll have to live with this stuff for a while until they get to it. Today I had to go to the office to ask them to replace a shelf in the bedroom closet, So that we can finally put our stuff away. One of the management went off to the side and called a maintenance guy. Still waiting. But I guess they're busy. read more

My experience with Lake Pointe went rather smoothly. I went in to get a tour of the apartments. They look Good! I like the upgrades and am interested in applying. As I went back to the office to get the application process started and pay my app fee, the woman started to tell me the requirements needed to be approved for the apartment! I do not have the credit score required for the process so she recommended to me that I do not apply and pay the fee as I will be denied. I was very satisfied with their service. They could have easily taken my money knowing I would be denied and kept it, but they did not! For that reason alone I am giving them 5 stars read more

My husband and I had been searching for the perfect apartment and when we found this place we were delighted. All the buildings are one bedroom so they are full of single families. We barley ever hear any noise, it's so quiet! The apartment is spacious and newly remodeled. All the people in the office are amazing and flexible. The maintenance folks are always doing something on the property to keep this place updated and looking good. They are also super quick and reliable for requests in your apartment. Plus the pool is always a plus. I highly recommend this place. You can't get any better for the quality and price than Lake Pointe. read more

I have had the greatest experience with this apartment complex. This is my first apartment :) I was so scared and nervous moving into my own place. The office staff were awesome with getting me approved and moved in. the apartments all have locked entryways and the parking lots have cameras which makes me feel secure. the apartments are updated and have granite and stainless steel.. The flooring looks good (but is the cheap click together stuff) but I have not had any issues with this at all.. I absolutely love my apartment here. The management is amazing! Whenever I need something fixed in my apartment they immediately put a work order in and maintenance gets to it that day or the following. They are pet friendly, which is very welcoming because coming home to an empty apartment can be depressing. Really clean hallways all the time. All the apartments are newly renovated as well, so all the new appliances and flooring looks great. The rent is very reasonable as well. I have been a tenant at these apartments for 5 years now. I was here before the new owners purchased the property. The difference is night and day. Please dont base your decision to come take a look at the apartments off of reviews you are seeing from over 2 years ago. The new management is great and do whatever they can to help your home be comfortable and safe. So, I moved into these apartments about 7 months ago. I have had a great experience. Love the updated onsite laundry (you do need a creditcard) but i can check if machines are open online right from my apartment rather then walk all my clothes down to the laundry room just find out they are all full and walk them all back up and repeat in an hour..I also love my neighbors. I dont have issues with noise or pounding..(Considering this is why i moved from my previous apartment) I am very HAPPY with my choice to move here.. read more

I love my apartment. It was hard for me to find a decent place since I do not drive and have to bus it to work everyday. These apartments are right off the bus line and I only need to take one bus to get me to work. Also with it being so close to shopping makes my life so much easier. I can walk to Cub foods, Walmart, Michaels & LifeTime there is tons of food places and other shopping stores too.. The apartments are beautiful and there is a nice outdoor pool. I have been here at Lake Pointe for a couple years now. Its a great place. I love my apartment, the grounds are nice, had some good amenities like a pool, volleyball, fitness, & on site laundry. The staff are great! I have had a few maintenance issues with heat and a sink back up but they were addressed right away. My neighbors are all friendly and quiet. I don't see why people always have so much negative to say. I have been here for a while and plan to stay for longer. read more
