Had multiple times when they'd randomly enter the apartment after 9pm to drop off packages, and very rarely was someone at the front desk if you needed to pick it up immediately. Upon move out, left the place in good condition, and they still were trying to charge another $500 (even after I paid for regular deposit and 2 pets). Finally, my gf went to let our dog out around 5am and there was a homeless person sleeping in the stairwell. There was also an issue with cars being broken into in the parking garage (had my sunglasses and phone chargers stolen. Highly recommend going elsewhere. read more

This morning I woke up to find out my car was stolen, and my girlfriends car was dead and needed a jump. Modesto and Brian helped me out and jumped my car this morning. They stopped everything they were doing and found cables to jump my car. It may come across as a simple gesture but meant a lot to me. Now I am able to make to work down in Mankato on time. Worst customer service. Your paying a premium for customer service that doesn't exist. I lived here for 1.5 years and once I wanted to give my 60 day notice they told me sorry you actually needed to give that on the first so now it will be 90 days. (Mind you it's the 8th). The whole company is a racket Lime, Blue, and Flux they are all managed by Greco Properties after talking to the general MG on how to resolve the issue with me she basically said to bad so sad nothing I can do for you and was incredibly rude. I moved here from Newport Beach, CA and am use to great customer service. You would be better off renting somewhere else cheaper that will also give you good service which is what your paying for. My wife and I have been here for nearly a year, and the experience has been great. By far, the most attentive staff of any apartment I've lived in. If anything goes wrong in the apartment, you can count on a response and action from their management. Facilities (gym/pool/common area) are always clean, and the residents are friendly young professionals. Great work by the management staff in organizing fun events for residents to meet. Most important for me is that the apartments are relatively sound proof. I'm a very light sleeper, and other than the occasional noise from outside (which should be expected in a city environment), you cannot hear pets, parties, tv or music from other apartments. read more

Blue is a great apartment complex. Over the years we've lived in a number of buildings in a number of different cities, and without a doubt Blue has the most impressing amenities. The complex itself has a full gym (as in a separate weight room, cardio room, yoga studio, and sauna), a pool, various courtyards and BBQs, and a steady stream of awesome events (everything from parties to foodie events with local chefs). Blue is a great way to experience the busy life in Uptown, but it also gives you the ability to live in comfort in their incredible units. But by far the greatest thing about Blue is the staff, who would really bend over backward to help you out in any way they can. I would definitely recommend Blue to anyone who is looking to live in Uptown! read more

I really enjoyed my 6 month stay at Blue Apartments. They have a ton of social events for occupants to take advantage of, they just revamped the pool area and the gym was the best I've come across. the only issue i had was i could sometimes hear the people living above me because of the concrete floors, but it was the only noise i heard. The concierge staff is very friendly and helpful for what Blue allows them to provide. If you need detailed answers (which is usually the case) you'll need to email one of the leasing agents. The turn around time for an EMAIL is at least 2 business days. Absurd. Within the year that I will have lived here, at least 1 of the 2 elevators was either on-the-blink or out-of-order. I'm surprised I haven't gotten stuck in one. I would not recommend renting from anything Saturday Properties owns. Save your money and buy a place yourself. read more

The Good: Blue is a really nice building, with great construction, and all the amenities you could want. I love having an in unit washer/dryer, garbage disposal, and dishwasher. The maintenance staff responds quickly to requests, like the day you make them. It is a great location with bars nearby and easy access to buses for me to get downtown during work. I love my underground parking. It is safe, close, and easy. The bad: The rent is just so high. I don't understand why rents in Minneapolis are as high as they are. It's not like this is New York or LA or somewhere super culturally interesting. 1600/month is just crazy high. I also live near a woman with a super annoying dog. When it barks it sounds like a squeaky toy being murdered by multiple stabs while simultaneously being thrown in a volcano. Many residents complain. I think they should evict her. The dogs are the worst part of the building. Many owners don't keep them on leashes, which is a violation of the lease agreement. They're loud and annoying to live around. I would prefer to live in a building that doesn't allow dogs. Also by Sunday the trash is overflowing. People resort to leaving their trash in the disposal area because there is no room for it to go down. You can smell it on Sundays. read more

Worst community I've ever lived at! Where to start.. getting charged 150$ monthly for parking instead of the 100$ I was promised in my lease. Or the parking spot bring next to the maintenance room where they smoked weed most of the day, flooding the unventelated area with the smell. Speaking of that, the vents in the apartments are closely connected and can hear and smell - everything - from your neighbors. The door leading to the balcony was broken my entire stay and didnt work, the previous tennants left holes in the walls but was never fixed. Someone tried to beat down my door - twice. Armed GI Joe guard patrols the area, the front desk guy doesn't look or speak to you, as he is to busy on his phone. The management will directly lie and mislead you. The entire company needs an audit at this point. It's beyond pathetic how they treat the residents. All for $2600 a month at that. The elevators break weekly, as does the garage doors. They threated lease violations for EVERYTHING. Left some kids chalk next to my parking spot? Threatened. Rug outside my door? Threatened. No mask in the hallways taking out trash? Threatened. Don't let the guise of 'Uptown living' fool you; PICK A DIFFERENT BUILDING. read more

I came from out of town to see an apartment. When I got there the person I had scheduled with was not available. I could not get into the building and when I called the contact person I had at Blue I kept getting her answering machine. I called the main number and the person I got said, "She's not in but you can leave a message on her phone." Click. I heard back from her later that night when I was on my way to the airport. She sent me an email saying sorry she missed me and did I want to try again another day. No thanks. Great job, Blue. Business must be good. read more

I LOVE living at Blue. Before I get into my reasons why, I should tell you my background. I lived in heart of San Francisco for 3 years prior and had to have 3 Craigslist roommates in order to afford my place. I am used to paying a lot for a little. That is NOT the case at Blue. You pay a lot, but you get A LOT. I have lived at Blue since June 2012 (it is currently April 2013). I work downtown so I only have a 15 minute commute, which adds to my happiness. The Location: Wonderful! The neighborhood is clean, safe, quiet for a city, lively, healthy, lots of great food and entertainment options and my favorite thing by far is the Midtown Greenway that connects to the lakes. There is construction across the street which is a pain but it won't be under construction forever. Amenities (this is why it's pricey but worth it): HEATED and secured garage parking for $100/month; gym with free weights, machines, cardio, dry sauna, tanning; free coffee every morning (my favorite kind of coffee!), free breakfast Monday, Wednesday, Friday (normally it is only Wednesdays but because of the construction in the area they have added Monday and Friday to keep us happy...and it does!), small dog park in the middle with a dog washing station (very dog friendly); random social events a few times a month ranging from Happy Hours at local restaurants to cooking classes to art shows to movies in the lobby to my personal favorite, Happy Hour in the ELEVATOR! That's right, they have served beer and wine in the elevator. What's better than being greeting with a glass of Cabernet after a long day at work? They've served pizza in the elevator too but I did not partake in those calories. The cleaning staff is always cleaning and the maintenance staff is very responsive and helpful. One of the guys even painted my apartment for me for a small fee There are other amenities like dry cleaning pickup/drop off but I haven't used that. My one-bedroom unit: I'm on the 2nd floor facing west. The place is a tad on the small side but I also share it with my boyfriend and our 40lb rescue dog. We can comfortably fit a platform queen bed, dresser, 2 night stands and book shelf in our bedroom. That's a lot of stuff now that I type it out. I have the large walk-in closet that fits more than enough of my stuff and my boyfriend has a normal size closet which definitely fits all of his stuff. The bathroom has two sinks which is GREAT so we don't have to battle for storage or counter space, normal size shower/tub, and a standup washer/dryer combo. The rest of the apartment is an open floorplan of a kitchen/living room combo. Our living room fits a small TV stand with a large flat screen TV, 2 book shelves, a coffee table and a sectional. The kitchen has a barstool counter with some storage, an electric stove, stainless steel appliances, and a microwave that reads "GOOD" when the timer goes off. I love that. There is a lovely balcony where we have two chairs and a table in the summer. There isn't a view but it's awesome to read or dine outside when the weather is nice. I was concerned when I first moved in because it was over the summer and it appeared there were a lot of partying college students in the building. Sadly, even though I'm still in my 20's, I like my 10pm bedtime. This ended up not being a problem at all. You can hear people if they're yelling in the hallway in front of my doorway, but that has only happened once in the 10 months I've lived there and it was on Halloween. I have never heard my neighbors on either side of me and they said they have never heard my dog bark. Pros: The list of amenities above, the funny flyers and emails they send out, modern layout and appliances, balcony, washer/dryer, free coffee, free breakfast, very nice staff, very clean common areas, gym, location to the Greenway, location to bars and restaurants, VERY dog friendly, heated parking, modern loft layout, community events, UPS/Fedex pickup with prepaid postage, fun community events. Cons: The stairs on my end of the building don't go all way down to the underground parking. But if that's honestly the only con I can think of so I'll just do an extra set of squats and take the elevator. Again, you get what you pay for. You may pay a lot ,but you get a lot. If you're interested in a modern, clean living in a great location with all the perks and willing to pay a little more, Blue is where it's at! read more

I've lived in Blue for 2.5 years and am leaving for a relocation to Boston. I love the location and the pup friendly atmosphere. Blue is an especially great place to live if you are new to the area and looking to meet new friends - there are a ton of events and like-minded young professionals in the building. The apartments are very nice looking with a modern feel and ample lighting throughout. The gym is also very nice. The only cons I have found are the fact that it's not the cheapest option in the area (BUT you get what you pay for in terms of safety, concierge package service, etc.) and the quality/durability of things in the kitchen like the countertops, especially if you cook a lot. However, this is to be expected for an apartment vs. condo building, and the overall staff and maintenance teams are very responsive about fixing any problems right away. read more

The front desk staff at Blue is one of the building's best qualities. The customer service provided by these individuals has really surpassed my expectations. For the most part, they have been very helpful and friendly to me. In particular, there's a night concierge at Blue, named Joel, who stands out as the best. Throughout my experiences, he has been the most personable and accommodating staff member here. I would've given a five star rating if I was rating only Joel and the other front desk people. However, if my rating was based on the building itself and not the staff, I would've rated it a 2. It is very obvious that the building was cheaply constructed. The fixtures are pretty chintzy and the water tastes like dirty dish rags, which really disgusts me. Other things that annoy me on a daily basis are that the bedroom doors in my unit don't latch shut and they don't lock either, the bathtub isn't tilted enough to drain water, and the lighting sucks. I love the location/neighborhood and some of the amenities offered here at Blue (like the pool, vending machines, and indoor parking). I also like how there's a pool table in the common room, but I definitely don't feel like the cost of rent is consistent with the quality of the building. read more

Don't do it. Great to look at... But the management office is absolutely awful. Almost impossible to get ahold of. They've towed me out of a parking space I payed for by mistake, then only paid half to get it back. Ive since moved out and they drumed up extra fees that I now have to pay for. I had the place professionally cleaned.... The charges are completely bogus. The rent price comes no where near what you will end up paying. read more

I wouldn't give these apartments a star if I didn't have to. My husband and I lived here for two years. Dealing with their staff is a nightmare. I have had multiple things happen, like getting trapped in the elevator for over an hour, only to have firemen come and let us out (and it making me late for work) my husbands bike was stolen from their parking garage and they interfered with a police investigation by not giving us the security footage (the concierge threw a tantrum stating "urgh. Do you know how much footage I'm going to have to look through") it took three weeks to get it only after having the police ask for it again, our ceiling leaked and collapsed in our guest room, it took over a week to fix it, and the list goes on and on. When it comes time to move out be careful!!!!!! Be sure to be out before noon on the day of move out or they charge you 100 dollars an hour!!!!! AND they don't let you know until after they have already been charging you! Take my advice, there are way cooler, nicer and cheaper apartments in uptown. Avoid Blue at all cost. read more

Honestly if you decide SATURDAY apartments choose the next one. Management down to the door people are not good people. It's the only way I can put it after thinking about it. You are the bottom of the barrel to these people, even if you are paying crazy prices to live here! They will nit pick you dry if they have too. Not only have I had to deal with them legally which could have been avoided if they weren't lazy enough to pick up the phone or walk over from the front desk. Also your security deposits you can kiss away. Late fees are informed via email 5 mins of charging you $100 a hour past noon. 5 mins! Could not be more upset with this staff. I'm not the only renter ether, friends in the building feel the same way. That's why none of us live there anymore!! Be carful is all I'm saying! read more

I've lived at blue for 11 months and could not have imagined a better Minneapolis experience. The staff at blue care and they do a great job. From the concierge staff, to the leasing agents and the maintenance team, everyone seems happy to be here and is very helpful and friendly. Trevor and Krzystof, the head concierges, are fantastic at what they do -- organizing events, coordinating breakfasts and parties, following up and making me feel at home (Krzystof has been here 5+ years). Modesto, who I think is the head of maintenance, has told me multiple times that he loves his job (he's been here for 5+ years too!) and gave me really helpful tips when I was setting up my apartment. I have made wonderful friends at building events ranging from pool parties and happy hours to comedy nights and chef demonstrations. The staff is extremely friendly and proactive and the building truly is a community. I also could not have survived my winter here without my underground parking! read more

I do not recommend living at Blue. POSITIVES: People were friendly, the gym was quite nice, and location is great in Minneapolis. Blue also puts on some nice social activities, and having the concierge desk was really helpful. NEGATIVES: I have some serious concerns about management practices, as I would characterize some of their business practices as deceptive and not entirely forthcoming. For example, when you end your lease and move out, Blue's charges for room repairs, carpet cleaning, etc. are exorbitant. They overcharged for everything, they were not upfront about these costs (except the required $65 carpet cleaning for my 10'x10' piece of cheap carpeting). I also had to work with the apartment another month and a half after my lease ended because they originally sent me a bill for all of these repairs, but didn't bother to return my security deposit. I had to show them that my contract specified that I had a $250 security deposit, and it took them way too long to finally deduct these expenses from it and to get me a check. I honestly feel that if I hadn't been diligent about checking these things, I would have been totally taken advantage of by Blue. There were some problems in the stairwells and common areas. For example, the stairwell closest to my apartment had a broken hand-railing for months and usually smelled like wet dog. Those should have been fixed more quickly. read more

This is a great place to live if you are young and looking to meet other fun young people. There are social functions and great common areas. If you are a little older and would rather be in a quieter setting, this is probably not the place for you. Your unit will either be over the dog park, pool or bbq area. Load in all areas. Also, there are no real doors, just sliding panels so there is not much blocking noise from other rooms in your unit. read more

I lived at Blue from May 2011 to September 2012. I tried to make an honest list of both the good and bad things about the building/apartment. Just my opinion. Good: 1) The location is awesome. I worked downtown and the bus stop was a block away. It is within a block or two of a number of cool restaurants/bars in the Lyn Lake area (VFW, Heidi's, Muddy Water, Lyndale Tap House, Galactic Pizza, Toppers, Fuji Ya, Tiger Sushi, etc) and is also within walking distance to the restaurants/bars in the Hennepin/Lake Street area and Lake Calhoun. The Greenway bike path is right behind the building if you're into biking. 2) Modern apartments with lots of nice amenities - outdoor pool, big gym, grilling area, pet area, cyber café/pub room (rentable for parties - $100), in unit washer/dryer, underground heated parking available for $100/month, concierge, online repair/reservation service, additional storage units (rentable for $30/month) and guest suites (rentable for $100/night for guests). 3) Pet friendly if you have a dog. 4) Friendly concierge staff. All of the people that worked at the concierge desk were always very helpful and friendly. 5) Hardly any children in the building, which was a great perk. 6) Most of the residents are young professionals (20s and 30s). Bad: 1) High rent; however, that was to be expected for the location. I paid $1,610 per month (in 2011/2012) for a one bedroom plus $100 per month for an underground parking spot. My mortgage was cheaper than that before I moved to Blue. 2) Guest parking is non-existent. There used to be a guest lot, but that was closed in 2012 for the construction of a new apartment building. Street parking is very hard to find and the tow trucks are relentless. I eventually paid for an extra underground spot for my girlfriend just to avoid trying to find her a spot. 3) The management staff is very friendly until you have your lease signed. Most of them seemed inconvenienced if you stopped by with a request. 4) The monthly "events" they held for the residents were not well attended. I would have rather had cheaper rent than paid for these. They were often held in the middle of week so anyone that travels for work (including me) could usually not attend. 5) Some of the residents were friendly and normal. However, most of them seemed to be the entitled, a-hole types. Many of them did not clean up after their pets (I saw dog poop/puke/pee in the halls and sidewalks more than a few times) and most seemed to think they were still as cool as they were in high school. Management had to constantly send out emails reminding people to follow the rules (no smoking, clean up after you pets, etc). 6) Thin walls. The first month I lived there I did not have any problems with noise. However, after that a new person moved in above me and he LOVED to stomp. Management said I could move to a new unit after I complained, but would not talk to him or lower my rent. I sucked it up and just used by broom handle when I need to. It could also get a little noisy on the weekends if you left your windows open since it is so close to the bars; however, it wasn't too bad when the windows were closed. Lots of siren noise too. 7) The washer/dryer is combo unit that washes and dries clothes. It was HORRIBLE. Clothes did not get clean or dry despite a typical cycle taking 3-4 hours. I tried to have this fixed, but management said it was working fine when they tested it. 8) Blue is a "green" building. That basically meant the water pressure in the bathroom was poor and took at least five minutes to get warm. I changed my showerhead to get better pressure. Also meant the elevators were ridiculously slow (5-10 minute waits are common). 9) The neighborhood is getting better, but there was still a problem with car break-ins on the street if you left anything valuable in your car. Management told me this when I moved in, but luckily I never had any problems with this. One car was stolen from the underground garage, although the owner was dumb enough to leave it unlocked with the spare keys in it. 10) Someone died while I was living there. I know that's not the apartment or management's fault; however, management never gave an explanation of what happened, which seems a little weird. One resident asked what happened after he saw the police cars and body being taken out - management told him they "hoped no one had seen that". Overall, it is a nice/newish building in a hard to beat location. I think I would have enjoy it more if I had lived there when I was younger and right out of college - I just couldn't afford it then. read more

Blue is a great building for laid-back living in luxury accommodations and the location cannot be beat! The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The extra features at the building like full gym, underground heated parking, package delivery, optional maid service, dog walking and in-lobby dry-cleaning pickup make this a great place to live. The events/activities are a great way to have fun and help to create a sense of community. But by far my favorite part is the dog-friendly stance of the building including dog park, dog wash and many locations of poop bag/disposal stands. I really feel like I'm living in a luxury hotel and I can't wait until summer to hit the pool after a long bike ride on the Greenway! read more
