Cozy place to stay. Amenities are minimal but the views are phenomenal. The rooms are cabin style with coffee pot, pots, pans, stove and refrigerator. Linens are provided as well. T.V. a flat screen with dvd and cable. WiFi is also available for free. There is a boat launch area as well. The rooms can use some upgrades. Carpet was dirty with stains. We rented the bigger cabin for more people to sleep in and it was roomy enough for 6. Phil and his wife, the owners are super cool. Very personable and helpful when it came to fishing tips. read more

This "resort" is very run down. Don't fall for the photos on the website, they are definitely photoshopped or are REALLY old because the place doesn't look like that now. Our cottage was dirty. There was dust everywhere, the bed spread had a gross stain on it, there was a huge dead cockroach on the kitchen floor, missing drawers....the list goes on. They have a ton of lawn furniture in the garden area where you can enjoy the lake and the mountains but all the furniture was not well kept, there was rust and cobwebs from lack of attention. The view from the room was exceptional. That's the only thing we liked about the place. Save your money, go somewhere else. read more

Been going here for years for family gatherings and renting out all the cabins. The place has been going downhill with each passing year. After our last stay in 2021 we will not be going back!! The rooms and grounds were both disgusting!! Bathrooms and showers were dirty and rusted. Room smelled like mildew and sewage. The owners have done NOTHING to update this property and it shows. They are cutting corners and charging more than ever. We will not be back unless a full reno is done or new owners come and take over because Phil is running it in the ground read more

If I could give this place no stars I would owners were extremely rude about their dock, As we fished they kept telling us to move away from a certain area of the pier and the reason? For the owners to fish around the area because they know that fish is there. It's rude jusf because we're guest and we should be allowed to fish in the designated areas otherwise put a damn sign that says "OWNERS AREA ONLY". Owner is watching your every move around his place can't hang around without them sitting near you or walking around you. The rooms are small to move around not disabled accessible. The bathrooms are disgusting mold everywhere super small and no ventilation. I would not recommend staying here. read more

I gave one star for the location(beachfront) My family rented out the whole resort the weekend and the water in all the units was unacceptable. The water in the shower and kitchen had foul odor like raw sewage. Every time you run water the whole unit stank of raw sewage. This was a problem in all of the units. Most people was unable to shower and used bottled water tobrush their teeth. The owner new of the problem before we arrived but did nothing. He made all kinds of excuses for problem. When we went came to the owner with problem he offered bottled water. The boat launch on property is for a kanoe. Will not be going back to this property. read more

This is my first time writing yelp comment because I love this resort so much that I have to write a comment about it! I feel like more people should come here more often! The resort is next to a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains and the room is super clean and comfy!! I'm normally very picky about hotels room but this one fully met my requirement! It's a shame how this property has gone down. One of the most beautiful settings, but that where it ends. The owners have allowed the property to deteriorate, yet charge an enormous amount for what you get. The grounds aren't kept neatly, outdated furniture, outdated rooms and the shower is something I will NEVER EVER see again! We would always take our family(kids, grandkids) to Lake Place and have a wonderful time. Our last visit, I wouldn't allow my kids to take a shower or definitely use the water for cooking or anything else. Phil and LeeLee are sweet people, but they are pocketing a lot of money and not investing it into the property. I sure would love to get my hands on this property, should they ever let it go. We have been coming to Lake Place Resort for 20 years. This place is perfect if you want to get away from all the hectic life of the Bay Area. This is a low key vacation resort. Perfect for family reunions with 10 cabins, most equipped with full kitchens. The shady lawn is dotted with lounge chairs and hammocks for your relaxation. Hight speed wi-fi, kayaks books and games, large video library for your use. Boat dock ,ramp and all the water you want to swim in. The new owners have really done a nice job taking of this traditional Clear Lake resort situated on the water. Did I forget to mention the view from the lawn, Mt Konocti, sunsets that take your breath away. There are spaces for camping and RVs. I forgot, new queen beds, great decor. read more

Have been to this place a couple of times and this is the last trip that I will make to it. The bathrooms need to be upgraded and also the kitchens, rooms are small, the water smells like a out house, The hold place just need a upgrade for the prices that they charge for two night stay. The water was so bad that we were not able to take a shower or wash our face, we asked for some of our money back and was told no. When we checked in they should have told us about the water. My family ( 7 adults & 1 dog) spent the weekend at Lake Place Resort. The rooms were exceptionally clean and well decorated. The kitchen had state of the art appliances, and supplies to cook our meals. We had cable television and Wi-Fi access. The pier was extremely convenient for fishing, along with the station to clean our fish. Mr. Sun & wife made us feel very welcome during our stay at the resort. The resort has outdoor grills for cooking. He told us to "make ourselves at home" ! We caught 4 catfish ( 8, 4, 3 pounds) and 8 bass !! It was very quiet and relaxing to sit under the trees in the picnic area , which over looks the lake. We are planning another trip to Lake Place Resort in a month !! read more

My girlfriend and I went there for the weekend. Though Clearlake is about as clear as Greenland is green, we had a great time. The lake is good for fishing and boating but I wouldn't swim in it...too much algae. Lake Place Resort is a cute little lakeside hotel that, although it's seen its better days, has a very friendly owner. They have some canoes for guests to use. read more

Came 4th July weekend with my in laws as a family getaway. Place was nice and quiet. Room was clean and comfortable. The owners were cool. Water was super green due to algae from fishing and what not so no one went in the lake (gross) but the view was lovely. We bbqed and played corn hole. Wasn't much to do there, but it was nice and relaxing being there with family. Only problem I had was the lack of service upon check in time and how no one asked for an ID to see if you were the right person. The wife was nice enough to let us in our room to wait for her husband who actually handles the payment process. Apparently I found out my card was used for someone else's reservation which I don't even know how that even happens? How do you just use someones's card info for a totally different reservation? So when I found out my card was swiped and voided my father in law had to use his card to pay. What I had in my card was all I had to spend, so I was super bummed out after the trip. They could've called me first to tell me they made a mistake and I could've paid the difference, but now I have to wait 10 days to get my refund. It was kind of upsetting. Place was nice, but I would not come again. Water was no where near clear. It should be called green lake resort lol... Kidding, not kidding. read more

We had a great experience here! The rooms were clean and very comfortable, and you can't beat the phenomenal view just outside your door. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, even allowing us to leave our truck and boat trailer in an R.V. Space after we checked out and told to take as long as we wanted. Never again! It gets 1 star jut because the space heater in the room worked. Otherwise, it deserves zero. Booked this room for $120 "OFFSEASON" rate and that is 2x the value. The room does not look like the picture on their website to say the least. Bed had no comforter, lumpy nasty pillows and a thin-stained-blanket. When they say there is a coffe pot in the room that is true, but they don't even supply the coffee! We showed up at 7:30pm the sign was off as were all hotel lights and when we rang the office bell we were greeted by "You're late!" (Checkin begins at 2pm and apparently ends shortly thereafter!). It gets better... At 7:30am the next morning a man tried to open the door. No knock..just tried to open it. Turns out he is the grounds keeper. I don't know what he wanted, but good thing the door was locked as I was alone. NEVER AGAIN..A HUGE RIP OFF. Save your money and go to a Motel 6 bc it is guaranteed to be nicer. read more

Though an avid Yelp user, I've never actually written a review- but after this weekend at Lake Place Resort, I had to share my incredible experience. We rented the property for my Dad's 60th birthday and invited 30 of our closest family and friends out, a sizable group that the resort easily accommodated. The rates are extraordinarily reasonable, so we rented the whole property for the weekend to have the place to ourselves- each room has a kitchen, most of them had multiple sleeping accommodations, as well as back doors that open to an outdoor lawn that overlooks a private dock down to the lake. We were able to totally decorate the outdoor area to our liking, and Phillip and his wife even helped us move things around to get the aesthetic just right. The rooms were clean and spacious, think more quaint cottage decor than city chic, which completely fit the peaceful energy of the outdoor space. There were multiple barbecue grills for our use, a fire pit, and an RV area- all of which lessened the amount of stuff we had to cart up with us. The icing on the cake though? When some members of our party had to unexpectedly pull out due to a death in our family the Thursday before we were scheduled to arrive- Phillip cut us a much appreciated break on those rooms, when he never had a chance to allow other patrons to book them- truly a class act.
