My experience here was for bridal party hair appointments for three of us. Our bride made the…read moreappointments in advance. I loved that we were offered mimosas and water almost immediately. I was happy to wait in the comfy seating area and also, to check out the small clothing area featuring boutique-ish items. Myself and the other bridesmaid waited a bit longer to start our appointments. I was the last to be helped, waiting about 15-20 minutes after our appointment time. Nevada was a joy to talk to and completed my simple hairstyle in less than 30 minutes. What ended up disappointing me, was that she said she was going to make my curls tighter so they would fall loosely as the day went on for the wedding itself. Unfortunately, the curls were already loose by the time I left the salon. I had to have another bridesmaid re-curl them before pictures. However, the braids and bun stayed perfectly throughout the night. The bride struggled with her stylist not taking into account the more simple and natural look she asked for. At the beginning she was loving it, but by the end she was very unhappy with all of the extra pinning that was done and we had to partially redo her hair when we got to the wedding venue. I was told my hair would be $70 when I went to pay. When the bride got her hair done two days prior for her bridal portraits, she paid $65 for a much more intricate and time-consuming style. So I questioned the price, and after the receptionist came back she said there was a miscommunication and the wedding planner had worked out an agreement for $60 each, which I accepted. I still struggled with the fact that the other two girls got charged the same price for hair that took at least three times as long to do as mine. It makes more sense to me to price based on intricacy and time to complete. My hair is much shorter than the other two ladies so I had less options for what to do with my hair, and I wanted to keep it simple. I just have a hard time justifying $60 for a hairstyle that took so little time, and that I had to fix myself anyway. Overall, this is an aesthetically beautiful salon but they need to make some adjustments to policies and pay more attention to detail. 3.5 stars rounding to 4.

What I like best about Laurie is that she uses her extensive experience to turn what I want into something that looks great for ME. She is great, and I highly recommend her. I may have to take mini-vacations back to the area just to get my hair cut/colored! She has also worked on my daughter's hair and each appointment is a pleasure. Bait and switch pricing, uneven work…read more My daughter booked a highlight appointment and was quoted $220. She put down a $20 deposit to hold the appointment. When she went to check out, the bill was $294 -- a 34% increase over the quote -- with no explanation given during the service about why the price was changing. She wasn't told mid-appointment that costs were going up, wasn't asked to approve additional charges, and wasn't given the option to stop or scale back. The first time she heard a different number was at the register. When I take my truck for maintenance, I sign a quote. If the shop finds something extra, they call me before they touch it. That's standard practice in any service business -- you don't surprise the customer at checkout. A salon should be no different. The bigger problem: when she got home and we looked at her hair in natural light, the highlights are visibly uneven side-to-side. One side is processed deeper at the roots than the other. This isn't a subjective complaint -- you can see it in any mirror.
