    Eco tent #1

The eco tent is in a terrible spot. No water and yet too close to the road. You hear the cars all night.

Our Cub Scout Webelos went here to complete our Paddle Onward adventure which was to learn how to Kayak. Our group of 11 had a great time. Our tour guide was Jessie and Zoey, they were both great instructors and tour guides. They were very accommodating and informative. They even took pictures and videos of us while kayaking. The Park itself is huge and lots of things to do. After our event, we had a lunch by the nearby picnic table. Highly recommend the kayaking and Jessie and Zoey to be your tour guides.

Beautiful park with lots to do. We wandered trails, saw many new birds, butterflies, and lizards. Nice swimming area that gets closed if alligators are spotted. Many trails, sunset car parking, and great camping amenities. My only negative was we were told we had full hookups for the rv but there wasn't septic. No worries there is a dump station, just wished we would have gotten one of the full hookups sites like we had requested.

This is Gigi 3 (the Tesla, cause she drives herself) She was amazing and super calm.

Horseback riding was great experience. The instructors were nicee and it was a nice relaxing ride and even better that it was in the morning so it wasn't soo hot.

I have stayed at two different cabins at Lake Louisa State Park in the last 12 months. Though the reservation process is straightforward, availability is limited as the cabins tend to be booked months in advance. These units are popular in part because they have certain amenities, such as a beautiful lake view, a kitchenette, and air conditioning. I think the cabin experience at Lake Louisa is vastly overrated and here's why: -Price/Fees: the cabins are expensive. There are no refunds, so you have to commit to a date that is usually far in advance. Depending on the season, weather in Central Florida can be a toss up. Rescheduling a stay involves a fee. -Availability: the online system is not 100% accurate. There have been cases where a cabin shows to be available, but actually isn't when I speak to the staff over the phone. -Condition of the cabins: see the pictures. I spotted multiple air conditioning vents with mold inside and surrounding the areas. The unit didn't seem to blow cold air, even when it was at 73 degrees Fahrenheit (which was the limit). I am sure there are far worse cabin experiences at state parks in Florida. Still, the cabins at Lake Louisa are not worth the money or hassle.

Our guides Jillian and Josh were absolutely great. We had one unexperienced writer with us and another one that had a bad experience the last time she rode somewhere else . The staff treated them with care , were responsible and took care of all their needs . The ride was super informative and I learned a lot. Definitely will be back for the charcuterie and champagne ride.

We had an enjoyable time. It was extremely hot during our stay so that limited the things we were able to do but it is green and beautiful w so many bodies of water. I will say that there were as many trails we cd find to walk on. You can lookup the paths I believe but I didn't see markings for them in the area we were staying.

My wife & I like date exchanges as one of our Christmas presents, so I surprised her with this trail ride. The staff was Fantastic, very informative & helpful with direction. I highly recommend!

This was an amazing adventure! My nephew (14) and I went on the tour and had never been on Segways before. The instructor did a great job teaching us to use the Segway and we felt comfortable before starting. Tina did a wonderful job guiding us on the tour and shared some great facts and history about the park as we rode. We would 100% do this again! A must-do when visiting Lake Louisa State Park!

Steve and Renee on our fun adventure!

We had the BEST time doing the off-road Segway tour with the FABULOUS Zoe. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. We would give her an 11 out of 10! The park is super lucky to have her!

Kayaking Together on Our Anniversary: My boyfriend and I went kayaking on Memorial Day to celebrate our one-year anniversary. I've always wanted to learn how to kayak, so we chose the Paddle & Kayak Lesson to start. We decided on a 9:00 - 9:30 AM slot, to do our best to beat the heat and avoid the Memorial Day weekend crowds. We were surprised to find out the park entrance fee of $5 was waived due to it being Memorial Day, which was nice. When we got there, we met our guide and instructor, Michelle. She brought us to the Camper Canteen to try on our lifejackets and we went to the restroom before beginning. When we returned, Michelle already had the kayaks ready to go in the water. She was fantastic! Kind, helpful, patient, and very laid-back. We enjoyed our time with her. I highly recommend her, and I would book her again. She even knows how to paddle-board! I believe she teaches that too! She told us all about the Night Kayak: Full Moon Paddle, and we're looking forward to possibly doing that too. She even offered to take some pictures of us - very kind of her! Also, incredibly brave for both Michelle and my boyfriend to have their phones on them. She helped us in our kayaks and gave us a push. She went over paddling, and I gotta say... we did well! We had so much fun out on the water. When the breeze came in, I took advantage and I rode the flow! Made my kayak go so fast. We were able to learn some cool things. I learned about alligators and their mating season. Did you know that alligators will court in April, mate in May, and then lay their eggs in June? Thanks, Michelle! Once you practice the paddling enough, it becomes natural and automatic. I'd say the most challenging parts were getting in the kayak and then getting out. Be mindful of keeping balance and making slow and steady moves. We did not see any animals out in the water, but we loved the endless lily pads and water lilies. When you paddle over and through the lily pads, you will find it is a little tough because your paddle is meeting with some resistance. Just be patient with yourself. FYI #1: Wear clothes and sandals that you are okay with getting wet. You will get wet! FYI #2: Keep your electronics away and in a closed Ziplock bag. Drink plenty of water before and put on lots of sunscreen and bug spray before you get in your kayak boat. This will be a lot easier to do and deal with before you're kayaking and on the water. FYI #3: Sunglasses and hats are your best friends. Honestly, just pack some frozen water, bug spray, and sunscreen. Trust me!

Lake Louisa State Park in Florida is a hidden gem! The pristine natural beauty, diverse ecosystems, and well-maintained trails make it a perfect escape for nature enthusiasts. The picturesque lake offers serene views, and the abundance of wildlife adds to the charm. Your camping options are cabins facilities, which are top-notch, with clean amenities and friendly staff. As well as primitive tent camping. On my most recent visit we did the 6-7 mile hike from the first parking lot to the lake. We saw many birds and a handful of deer frolicking in the distance. It was an absolute gorgeous day to be outside. Sometimes I can't believe we live in such a beautiful state! Whether you're into hiking, bird watching, or simply relaxing by the water, Lake Louisa State Park delivers an unforgettable outdoor experience.

A sweetheart from the group arrived at 6 am and was able to secure a nice pavilion on the lakeside, adjacent to the restrooms and across from plenty of parking. The pavilion come with a grill (we didn't use) and a large trash bin nearby. The area had a few trees around and was nicely shaded, this made the combination of good weather result in a really good experience. There is a nice trail for walking, hiking and cycling. Near the parking, there is a play area for children and a fenced dog park area. Overall, I thought I had a good experience and think that it is a fabulous area. I do hope to get back out here at some point in the future.

Lake Hiawatha Preserve Park - Frisbee Golf (Disc Golf Course)…read more Finally, a legit 18-hole disc golf course near Clermont, Florida. It's also a great place to bring your dogs! They have a nice fenced in area to let your dogs mingle and play with other dogs off the leash and there's a trail and some back country you can take them and run with. The good: - Solid mix of wooded technical holes and a few open bombers around the lake. Holes 4-8 along the water are gorgeous, especially at sunset. - Tee pads are concrete and in great shape (huge upgrade from the old rubber mats). - New Mach X baskets catch well and the bright yellow bands make them easy to spot. - Multiple pin positions on several holes keep it fresh -- they move them every few months. - Free parking, clean porta-potty near hole 1, and the course flows really well. Rarely any backups even on weekends. The "eh": - Can get soggy after rain (bring boots in spring). A couple fairways hold water like a sponge. - Hole 13's long position is a total prayer across the marsh -- fun once, frustrating the other 19 times. Highly recommend for intermediate and up. Beginners might get humbled on the back 9, but that's how we all learn! Will keep coming back. 4.5 stars rounded down only because mother nature still wins sometimes.
