My friends and i stayed here July 21st thru the 24th, 2022. I was in my 5th wheel, they had cabins. Lake Huron campground was awesome. JellyStone, not so much. Overpriced for stays now, bathrooms flooding sewage, pool closed for sewage backup, I'm not a happy camper. They will not allow personal golf carts anymore, i had goose poop, cigarette butts, and the previous camper on my site left a good amount of their black tank contents on the ground. I paid $327.00 for 3 nights. For that amount, a person would expect a clean site. Big corporate campgrounds don't care about their property obviously. We used to camp here at least once a year for the past 6 years now. I can see why there were so many sites open now. Corporate greed has taken yet another nice campground down. We won't be back. (Why won't this site allow me to post zero stars? That's what this place deserves now!) read more

When we booked our site we asked to reserve a golf cart and were told we had to wait to get there. When we got there they said they were all booked and we had to do that while booking the site. The staff is very rude and unprofessional. Talked down to my Mother in law while she try to explain that we had been told to book the golf cart when we got here. When we went back to the office later we were told a different story that we needed to book the cart online. The pool was so cold the kids wouldn't swim. They needed to use the heaters, but I guess that cost too much money. The overall issue here is that the owners are money hungry and cheap. They pay their young staff the absolute minimum and work them too many hours which in turn makes the staff not care about the guests in the slightest. The power went out and the pool shut down because apparently the back-up generator had broke down and it "cost too much" to fix. It is sad because the park itself has a great location, great amenities and big sites. The owners need to learn that they could have a great thing here if they cared a bit more about the guest, take care of their employees more, spend the money on heating the pool when it gets chillier, and buy more golf carts with a policy all of the employees know. So, this is an add-on: I believe a manager of some sort came to our camp site after reading my review. Asked to speak to me, but I was walking the dog. He said he would be back at 7:00 to speak to me and never showed. We went to get ice cream and asked the front desk of he was coming or not. They proceeded to be rude yet again, surprise, surprise, and said "don't wait around and go ahead and leave your review my name is Tracie with an IE"! Guess I'll make sure to now leave this review on all our Michigan camping community websites and friends. All I can say is WOW!!! The owners are trolling our reviews and saying horrible things. We loved this place for years. In the last few years it has changed owners and it's such a shame. Some Of the staff have been there a long time and they have always been great. Sadly it is now turning into a corporate owned place, so many rules. The price has had a significant increase like more than just your standard increase to be expected. We always book our trips in January for the summer and we will no longer be visiting here. Reservations can be made online and you used to be able to pick your spot, we always had a few favorites (we would visit several times each year) now there is a extra fee to pick your spot. It appears to have extra charges for a few things and in the past one thing we loved about coming here was everything was included, so the higher price was justified. This is no longer true. This past summer the hours we weird even on a holiday weekend, for the store/ pizza/ice cream. read more

We have stayed there twice. Both time the enormous pool was closed due to the time of season. They offered free internet, but it was spotty and when available, very weak. The pond/lake was nice to walk around. It was very clean and easy to get in/out. read more

This campground was our go to place for years. We have friends that are seasonal campers. It was always packed. You could get in with some luck and a prayer. Now it's on its 3rd owner in 4 years. Now it's a Jellystone Park. They do not have an updated Yelp site even though they have posted a yelp review. They do not like seasonal campers. They do not want seasonal campers anymore. No more new seasonal campers as they leave. The pool has been down the last 3 times we have been there. The bathrooms are a mess. My wife got her phone stolen last year. They have more golf carts than they know what to do with but won't rent them for some reason. I was out on a wait list for a cart this weekend and watched about 50 carts sit unrented. In the office and store we made note of a substance on the toilets in the restroom (you know what I mean), it remained there from when we checked in this last Thursday until this morning (Sunday). Speaking with other campers, they are sad that they see so many empty spaces. It's ridiculous how many vacancies they have now. Some left before the completion for their reservation because they were so unhappy with what's happening. We used to hold trips here with the people we work with at least twice a year. I wish them the best of luck because they are going to need it. I think the staff knows what needs to be done but the corporate ownership is driving this place into the ground. Oh and bring life jackets for the kids to use their water activities on the lake. They don't even have enough life jackets for what little campers they had. We just stayed this weekend for Halloween. I was not impressed. The campground had zero decorations up for Halloween and the activities were very lacking for the kids. The one activity that the kids wanted to do was the haunted trail walk. They charged $8 per person to walk a trail for 10 minutes. Ridiculous, I could see maybe $2 or $3 per kid but not$8! Also we weren't sure who actually worked there because the staff didn't have any kind of park shirt on. Go to a Koa and get better amenities for the same cost. read more

This is by far the nicest private campground we've ever stayed at. All the amenities were well kept and modern. Our campsite was decent sized and grassy. There were many full hookup sites available even for last minute people like us. But by far, the best attraction was the newly built pool area with blow up slides, swimming pool and splash park for the kids. My two year old was in heaven. There is so much to do here for the family that we can't wait to come back. We inquired about seasonal camping and learned there is a pretty big wait list. read more

My family has been going here since I was little, we have enjoyed every time! The sites are nice and they have a good park for the kids. The golf carts and free to ride bikes are also very fun and give us something to do. They have added new additions such as inflatable water slides and a splash pad for the kids. The beach is messy but that's expected with all the geese and seagulls. The park has jumping pillows that are very cool! We would definitely recommend coming for the October halloweekends! On weekends and some week days they have live entertainment and crafts in the main office! We plan on returning this October! read more

Jacked up rates from the new owners, new ridiculous fees and rates for visitors and 6 pm closing of the pool and new jump Pillows is crazy. 6 Pm pool close when we get up there after 5 on Fridays? We are paying for amenities that we can't even use because they all close early. Bob is clueless and arrogant. We will not be back. Sorry to the staff who are very nice. This was our second trip to Lake Huron Campground. The pool is an awesome addition. The kids spent hours in the pool and the water slides. The waterside attendants Should spend less time on their phones and more time doing their jobs. On more than one occasion I was directing kids and encouraging safety, I guess I am just one of those parents!! Our campsite was average. It was grassy and a full hookup, but a little narrow. Our neighbors had tents and we where literally on top of each other. The pool and cleanliness of the campground are perks, as well as the general store and pizza parlor. If you splurge go straight for the cheesy bread. You won't be disappointed. Overall, not a bad place to stay, just bring bikes or rent a golf cart! Your Fitbit will definitely get a workout!! read more

Pros: We stayed in a cabin, and enjoyed the clean rooms, as well as air conditioning. The lake is nice, and the waterpark/pool area was amazing for the kids in our group. Cons: Despite these pros, I would not return and would not recommend this campground to any of my friends. The service at this campground was absolutely terrible. They messed up our reservation, and our bill was fully paid before we arrived. When we got there, we were told that we owed an additional $100. Frustrated from a long drive, we paid the bill. Looking into it further, the charges and the account wasn't even ours. They had mixed up our bills. Before we left, we were told they would fix the charges AFTER they upped our cabin charges $10 a night because "that was last years price" and they mistakingly gave it us. Not only did they overcharge us, they changed our nightly rate AFTER OUR STAY. It has now been 4 WEEKS and we have still not yet received a refund. We were told on multiple occasions that it would be refunded. Two other families in our group were also overcharged and made to pay extra on arrival. Find a different campground. This campground is not worth it. read more

We camped here weekend before July 4th. We had a great site. The new waterpark is great for the little ones however was too small for adult swimming and was insufficient for the amount of campers. It was heated and it was ample for the 90degree weather that weekend. You had to stay in one spot because the pool was full. The fireworks on Sunday night were wonderful. The pizza and ice cream parlor were a treat. read more

We spent last weekend here, despite it being cold. The place is clean, friendly and reasonably priced. It's right off of Lake Huron. Our biggest complain would be no wi-fi, but that's not too big of a deal. The location is great, very close to Port Sanilac and just down the road from Lexington Michigan. The spots were clean, well cared for and patroled regularly. We would consider staying here again. read more

Worst customer service! We've been coming here for several years. On 2019 memorial weekend. We booked 3 cabins and a full hookup for RV. when we got to the RV campground it wasn't a full hookup. The manager said there was something wrong with our software when you booked but you didn't get charged for full hookup, which we did and it was a lie. The campground was all muddy and not a good side. They offered us a free ice cream for kids instead lol. Later that day, one of the employees told us there is a good empty spot someone left and it's a full hookup. He told us go to the office and switch your spot. So we went to the office to switch for the another spot that has a full hookup. The manager didn't let. The answer was sorry we don't have workers today to pull you out of your camp spot which the RV was still stuck there. So I asked, what if I have emergency and need to leave the camp now? Of course they ignored my question and don't answer my question. We went back to the campsite, it was so muddy we couldn't even walk there, so we drove our pickup truck to get close to the RV door to get inside the RV avoiding walking in the MUD! One of the guys comes there, gets out of his car with the big attitude, asked us are you guys "MUDDING" ? He accuses us of "MUDDING" Which we're trying to avoid walking in the mud. Just a horrible horrible service. Also, ridiculous fees. I booked the cabin for 4 people but for 2 of the adults I paid $15 per persons per night because they are adults. They manager states, the cabin is for 2 adults and 2 kids which it doesn't say that on the website when you book. Nice campground but horrible customer service. This was our second trip to Lake Huron Campground for our family reunion. They are under new ownership this year. We booked in January for our second weekend in August trip so we could make sure all of our family could get a cabin. We were told that a brand new pool and splashpad facility would be put in, thus justifying the price increase. When we arrived this new facility was not even close to being finished. We were only given two weeks notice about this disappointing issue. So of course, they said they would let people out of their contracts and refund money, but where is a large group supposed to find an alternative. Don't tell me they don't have a good expected date of finish. Anyone could see that they most likely won't be completely finished until winter is over. The construction in the narrow camp roads near the site was awful! Made driving a challenge between that and small kids not staying off the road. In addition a couple of family members were moved and placed in another cabin without being asked. When these family members called and complained their original cabins were reinstated. Overall a huge lack of communication on part of the management. Be honest with your customers and they will be forever loyal. Just a good business model, period. The showers and baths were clean and I always had a nice, hot shower. The woman and guy who ran the pizza and ice cream shop were awesome! Kids enjoyed the bounce pillows and putt putt. The cabins themselves are good, but overpriced. A/C, coffee maker, microwave and mini-fridge are nice amenities. Would have been nice to get our bedroom window screen fixed though. I love fresh air! I brought it to the attention of our check in host the first day and she said she knew. Why she did not tell me at check in is beyond me. Would have saved me a drive around the crazy construction! Regardless she admitted they were short-staffed and they would have it fixed the next day. We left on our fourth day of stay and no one even came by. Recommendations: communicate with your customers, hire more staff, finish the pool area and don't advertise it until it is DONE!, be honest with your customers. Needless to say, the family has already discussed new places for our family reunion next year. read more

Our friends stayed here and we stayed nearby. We tried to get a cabin but they were booked. No big deal. We would just visit our friends for a campfire. Bob wanted us to pay $50.00 to visit our friends, who already paid for a campground without a pool. We were only staying 2 hours for a campfire!! Really? We were going to book a cabin for future use but will happily stay elsewhere! I can see by the number reviews that we are not missing anything good! Memorial weekend 2019 check in 4pm Friday. Greeted with standing water on site 287. Called 3 times for help each time stated "you are on the list". Never showed. Went to front desk Saturday 9:30am and said I know you were busy but I can't even let dog out on site due to standing water on my site. Said give me 2 to 3 hours. 12:30 no one shows. Call again......standard answer of you are on the list and someone be there 2-3 hours. I said this is the 5th time you told me that in less than 24hours. Escalate to manager or owner. Talk to so called manager Crystal who get snippy saying only have 3 people they start at noon......not my problem...my problem is standing water on site. Little while later her son-in-law arrives and starts to pump out the fire pit???? We had 5 groups and weren't using our fire pit due to flood. See photos I had hoses siphoning water. Explained that I called due to site under water not the fire pit. He does best he can and pumps out water and lays down 2 bales of straw. His boss or owner or someone arrived trying to be big boss in white truck. I say Hi...look at the accommodations we get here for $80/night. He didn't say a word and yelled at the kid working. It was quite disgraceful. They straw helped for a couple hours but ultimately turned everything slippery and wet. Been camping for 20 years and was easily the worst experience due to campground conditions and service. No offer to remedy the situation or that they even cared. 2 out of 5 in our group left early and forfeited their camp fees. All people around we spoke to were frustrated and said they would never come back. Camping in the mud will do that to you! Campsites no trees or shade so it's like camping in a farm field. Service worst I've ever seen. Pool is too small for size of campground, no restrooms inside pool fence, extra fees like no where else, Camp here at your own risk and bring your wallet! read more

Camped here for many years as my family loved this park. This year, the park was sold again but this time into corporate ownership. They started changing all of the rules that made the park what it was and added a bunch of new fees on top of the already high prices. For a standard weekend with a family of 4, our rate increased by over $75 for the weekend, over $150 if you stay for a holiday. That is almost an entire weekend at another park. On top of that, they have no plans to make significant upgrades to the park for 2022. They are also trying to push out seasonal campers and make the park a "destination resort" rather than a campground. You cannot bring your own golf cart now as a camper unless you are a seasonal (and pay $500 fee) so you are forced to rent theirs if you want to roll around the large campground. Loved this park and its a shame the new owners want to destroy a gem for profit in the upper thumb of Michigan. read more

Check in as a guest of a seasonal was a nightmare. Talked to new owner BOB and he charged visitors of guests not using amenities, $10 for a day. The website says $5.00. He insisted because it was a holiday weekend it was $10 a day. The website does NOT say that. False advertising. Bob insisted that the site said it did...guess BOB needs to actually read his site? The pool was a disaster...dirty and full of sand. Duct tape holding the liner to the pool. Horrible. Thank goodness my family is moving to a new park next year. This park is not family oriented, its about gouging visitors. Good luck new owners, I recommend looking for a new park to camp at. read more

If you like full service camping, this park is for you. A range of site types is available. We have stayed here twice on a full hookup pull through site near the pool and game room area. Large level site. Trees are still a little on the small side so an awning is best for shade. They have a nice camp store, mini golf, and a little beach area too. Looks like there are rental kayaks (but we haven't checked those out yet). This park is not on Lake Huron, but there are beaches on the big lake in the area. Lots of little towns to explore (Lexington is a favorite) and a nice golf course nearby makes this a great vacation spot. read more

We had never stayed here before and got nervous after reading reviews. EVERYONE we encountered was very friendly. We had a spot on the water. It was very pretty. The slope down to the water where we were was steep so fishing is a little tricky. I did notice some sites that seemed like they could use a mow, but nothing outrageous and any of the sites that wee occupied were mowed. Great free mini golf course. Jumping pillow is free. Pool looked nice (it was chilly out so we didn't use it). Bathrooms were nice and clean. We would definitely visit again. The only thing I could say that was bad was there were a lot of goose droppings on our site, but a quick cleanup before we set up took care of that problem. read more

Very disappointed ! Manager is very rude.....Checked in only to find someone on our site that we had reservations for over a month. We ended up having to move with no apologies. Go to swim in the pool apparently someone got sick but no one would know because they don't post a sign or anything. So you pay rediculous rates to rude people and can't use the ammenities. DO NOT STAY AT LAKE HURON CAMPGROUND. My husbands kayak went down with my son on it after 3 minutes and they refused to refund the money. The told me if I didn't like it I could leave. They wouldn't apply to golf cart.... Talked to a bunch of seasonal campers and they are all pulling out because of new owners.... So pissed. Was a great place when 5/3rd bank owned it! Today, has new owners, was supposed to be a lot better! Made reservations for memorial day weekend! Not only received repeated phone calls from the staff, double, triple and quadruple checking to make sure the 8 sites I booked and paid a deposit on, were going to be used, they also called everyone of the 8 people to make them pay in full prior to the weekend, and they were not filled to capacity!! The grass had not been cut in the area we stayed which was some of the most expensive sites, rates went up, also like many private campgrounds now, using the "Ash Spore" scare which has been long done over with, to force their campers to buy overpriced "Kindling" firewood at best! Very disappointed, new owners are all about the money! A family is 2 adults and 2 children, period. Anything over that is $15.00 per day per child or adult, doesn't matter! Was our favorite, extremely overrated for no adult trees, no WiFi, cable at best gets 6 channels on a good day, you can tell they are greedy owners, they own several others in other states, this is the only one they own in Michigan, really not worth the price they are charging now and all of the rules they are laying one everyone. At best, I give them 3 years, and they will be out of business. Stayed there over 10 weekends last year, this is the only one that we will be staying in 2016...................... read more

Our family has been coming here for the last 3-4 years and in the past we have had no problems other than the normal quiet time "warnings". This year was a little different. The new owners have taken a big bank mentality where every little thing has a price on it. You want to check in two hours early? $5-$15 depending on the person you talk to in the clubhouse. You have more than the 2 adult 2 kid cabin, money money. I have no problem paying extra to enjoy my cabin longer, but that enjoyment ended shortly after they brought in the pavilion sprayers and leaf blowers on a Friday at 12pm. They must have spent 2-3 hours on spraying ONE concrete slab!! The motor that is utilized as the power was the loudest thing I've ever heard! I happen to have paid $15 extra to check in early and if I knew they were bringing the cleaning crew out on a beautiful Friday afternoon where there were no campers around........wait, the complete opposite was true. Not the time to be "enhancing the customer stay" as the front office put it. Sadly in conclusion, what was once a joyous time for our 80+ extended family has now been discouraged with the small minded money hungry new owners and lack luster management. insert sad face emoji. read more

This was our first trip to Lake Huron and after reading the reviews we were a little nervous about how our camping experience was going to be. We were extremely happy with our weekend there and plan to return again next year. The pool area looks amazing and the park has a lot of amenities. It was a very enjoyable weekend even with all of the rain and wind. The staff was friendly and there were a lot of events planned for my family. Prices are much higher than they were with previous owners and grounds are not being well taken care of at all!! Pool was closed for cleaning for two days of our stay at the campground and many other amenities such as the arcade room were also not in working order. We were promised wifi, which was also unavailable. Very disappointed as this used to be our favorite camping destination! read more
