At the bottom of all the stairs, there is a platform with a Metal ladder to actually get to the beach. It was my feeling that the cabins are not put together very well, we won't be back. On the positive side, I called to let the innkeepers know that our TV remote wasn't working --we need batteries, and that I needed an extra blanket. I left that as a message on their phone, and they almost immediately called me back and took care of both of those problems With in just minutes.

It is such a highlight. We brought bubbles and one of my favorite memories is blowing them over the edge of the railing to see if they could make it to the water. Each day we got up to view the sunrise while sipping cocoa and coffee, and and it was perfection. The water was gorgeous and you could watch the huge ships pass far out. The spacious overlook deck is such a highlight! We also enjoyed the fire pit nightly. Bring wood! I had been concerned that other guests might be using it and be loud near our cabin, but that wasn't an issue ever. The whole place was pretty chill and quiet, which was perfect. There were other guests, but they were mostly adults. We used a generously provided gas grill to cook, but it couldn't top 300*. I'd recommend bringing charcoal for the charcoal grill also available. Cabin 4 is rustic but had nice touches like an electric fireplace, ceiling fans, and a beautiful redone modern bathroom, but best of all was the French door view in the bedroom. The wicker chairs at the table had sagging seats and needed replacing, but there was a picnic table to eat at outside. The Adirondack chairs outside were the perfect place to dry our suits, etc. Honestly, I was surprised at how quiet the place was. There are stairs that go down to the waterline, and it's a beautiful view but the stairs are extraordinarily steep. I'm in my 40s and I was afraid of falling. I would not be comfortable with my parents going down those stairs unless I was right with them. That being said, we enjoyed swimming in the water down there. There's a deck with an oversized industrial ladder, which did the job but the round rings were a bit uncomfortable. My husband slipped off them! The initial bottom by the deck had sand, but past that we found it was best to paddle with the inner tubes we brought because the bottom was unpredictable. Water shoes would have helped. My 7yo had a life jacket, and since the waves can really rock you I was so glad she had it. She would have been too young to be there just an inner tube on the day we went, which was pretty rough water. The second day it was calmer and I think she would've been okay. It was fun to look at the houses on shore from out on the water, and the kids liked a fallen tree nearby. There are other good sandy beaches in the area as well. The owners were excellent communicators to answer questions. Initially the unit didn't have futon bedding and towels for the kids, but these were sent almost immediately after we made the problem known. I forgot my charger and dress at the cabin, and the owner was so kind to offer to send the dress at no charge. We've good memories of our stay. Highly recommend.

There is also central heat for any chilly nights. There is so much to do in the Lexington area including beautiful beaches, quaint shops, local restaurants and ice cream shops, wineries, concerts in the park, a local theater, and more. Our group of 8 consisted of 4 adults, 2 toddlers, and 2 seniors and from the moment we opened the door we were all instantly enamoured with the house. We arrived to bright afternoon rays beaming into the sunroom and lighting up the large open concept main floor which beckoned all of us over to bask in the warm afternoon light on comfortable couches. And as we continued to settle into the remarkable house we were thrilled with all the details that seemed to anticipate our every desire... the large deck overlooking the river, the luxurious bathrooms, the generous stash of board games and entertainment, the spacious and fully outfitted kitchen complete with a pro waffle iron and complimentary waffle mix, the plush and incredibly comfortable beds, the working fire place... and of course the massive ships slipping by majestic and silent. I spent a week there with my husband and kid. My kiddo loved having their own room unlike if we had chosen to stay at a hotel. All their cabins are on Lake Huron. You just walk out the back door and boom, there it is. Absolutely beautiful views. The cabin was really clean and had all the basic stuff you'd need. They provide a gas grill, utensils to cook with, towels ( not swim towels but all other towels), internet, a Roku connected to tv, a shower, etc. you get the point. It's very conveniently located to other city's up there. It's about 15- 20 min away from most of the tourist things to do. One of the cool parts of the lake is that along the shore are a bunch of boulders and rocks that create a wonderful habitat for little fish to swim around. So if you plan on swimming bring your snorkels so you can see the schools of fish swimming around. You'd be able to see them regardless cause the water is pretty clear on a calm day. But seeing them underwater is always fun. We also went to tour the lighthouse next to the cabins, snorkeled and kayaked at Harbor Beach. We tried out both of the popular ice cream places ( the one that I believe is called Rybeck is the better one imo.) we went to the farmers market and swam in the marina area down the street from the farmers market, and of course enjoyed stargazing. We saw a bunch of stars up there. A few small touches that were unexpected but fun was the guest book where former guests wrote things they did which was great to get ideas and they have this super tricky wooden puzzle that we worked on all week until we gave up and looked at the solutions on our last day. We dropped off our ezgo and were given a 1 to 1.5 week estimate for repairs, as they had just…read morereceived 5 carts for repair the previous day. We are sitting at 8-9 weeks now with a $200 deposit given and still have no ETA on when we will get our ezgo back. The communication is beyond poor, no one answers the phone or returns your calls. I would suggest taking your cart to anywhere else before giving these people your money and time.

If it were not for the expense, time, and trouble of this story, it could be rather humorous in a "Three Stooges" sort of way. I have spent over $1500 and the cart still won't take a charge despite my paying for a new charger. Bottom line is that Independent Custom Carts is an incompetent business that should be avoided. My course of action is now small claims court and the agony of that.
