Cute cottages right on Lake Huron. Owners Karl and Robyn couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Very peaceful and quiet. Plenty of shopping and restaurants in nearby Lexington or senalec. The cottages are cozy and give you that rustic nostalgic feel of a time gone by. The people there were friendly and is a great place for kids and retirees. There is a wide deck with rocking and deck chairs where you can sit and enjoy the view of Lake Huron. You can reach the lake by stairs that will give you a good work out on your way back. We saw a beautiful sunrise and enjoyed a communal fire pit both nights. We'll be back hopefully in the future.

Quaint little cottages between Port Sanilac and Lexington situated on a bluff overlooking Lake Huron. New owners are in the process of renovating all the cabins. They are really cute. Cottages 3 and 4 sit directly on the bluff and provide amazing views of the Lake. Amazing sunrises!! Full kitchens and everything you would need for a get away!!

    Very run down, bug Infested

Ratty place and shady ppl. These cottages are infested with bugs. The grounds are as well. I have never seen so many spiders, ants, and mosquitoes inside nor outside. After asking them to call an exterminator I was asked to leave. The cottages are sheds... not small houses. They were neglected and vacant for years. These new owners just created a website and started a crappy business. There is tons of water damage and mold. It's on a very loud road and has slowest internet I have ever seen. Cell coverage is very poor. Hot water runs out in less than 5 mins. The plumbing is awful. I had to potty some where else my entire trip. The owner got mad at me for asking him to take care of some of the issues. He basically told me to leave and refused to refund my company their money. There are tons of other places on lake shore drive. I'd look around before staying here. Honestly you would be more comfortable camping. Oh yeah, if u fight off the 100s of mosquitoes to get to the water, You will find lots of old building material, trash and junk in the water at their bluff. Everyone of their guess I talked to, including myself, still had to drive to get to the water for fun. Don't be fooled. Don't get ripped off. Go some where else.

We stayed 4 days 3 nights for around $375 total PROS : Fairly spacious 1 Bedroom cottage Kitchenette came fully equipped Doors on cottage locked securely Enclosed Porch Super family friendly with lots of outside activities for kids Movie night 2 days a week Walmart and Gas station right up the street Each cottage had a bbq grill (dirty) but they all had one CONS : Super narrow when driving down hill to unload your things into the cottage so turning around can be challenging (especially with the "no driving on grass" signs. You can unload but you have to park in the lot at the top of the hill and walk back down Wifi was not working well so your basically without service most of the time Lots of BEES The bed was really uncomfortable so we slept on the futon in the living room The heat didn't really work so at night and I'm the early morning it would be freezing. Like throw a hoodie on cold They tell you to bring your own sheets and towels But the blanket that's offered is mad thin so I wish I would of brought my own A few of the dishes were dirty and had to be rewashed before use The tv in my auntie cottage couldn't have been bigger then 20inch (my desktop monitor is bigger) mines was a little bigger then hers which she didn't understand because we paid the same amount for our separate cottages Bonfire pit was right off the water, so it was super windy, cold, and water kept splashing us while we were trying to get it lit The furniture in the cabins was pretty outdated not "rustic" ..outdated The cottages need face lifts which is obvious the paint in my bedroom what bubbling and separating from the walls The shower heads OMG the shower heads was just to much for me.. like if I needed to bring my shower head from home as well they could of just said that! lol but no seriously I was so sad taking a "quick" shower it gave me jail flashbacks! I could of came off another star if it wasn't like that. We didn't get much beach time in because it was pretty windy our entire stay and the current in the water was not playing lol Soooo our 3rd day was everyone's else's last day at the cottage so we end up getting our last day all to ourselves, and is being the nosey individuals that we are after they cleaned the rooms we asked if we could check out the other cottages, when I tell you I was sick that 2 of the other ones had real shower heads and better TVs we deemed 1,7,11 the best cottages to stay in (they have 11 total) We stayed in 4 and 6. The actual beach is a few minutes up the road and it's much more space with sand and the water was more calm to let the kids play in I believe it's called Lakeport state park Overall, would I go back? Maybe .. I wouldn't jump on the opportunity I would also only stay in one of those 3 cottages for a better experience.

We camp with a very large group of over 20 people. This year Sanilac County Parks allowed one person to make group reservations then each party called in and paid. This seemed like a good solution for those of us who camp in large groups and want to be by each other. However, they did not send us individual emails of confirmations. They only sent it to the individual who made the reservation. This has been a stressful year, and I could not remember what my dates were. I called Forester Campground. They told me I was due in on June 27th. When I checked in, the office staff told me I was due until the following day. I was upset, as I was given the wrong information. I asked her if I needed to pay today for the day. She said she would adjust it, since it was her staff that made the error. As I was setting up, the park manager, Steven Pozsgay came and said he "adjusted" our stay, having us leave a day earlier. This would have us leaving a day before our friends. I was very upset. He was not aggressive, but extremely unfriendly. He said if we wanted to stay another day would need to pay for it. Which, I offered when I checked in. I found out he reprimanded his staff for offering to accommodate us since the staff made the error. After serious consideration, time with our friends was more important than his attitude. So we paid for the additional night. When we went to pay, we tried to discuss with the staff why we were upset. In the middle of the conversation, the manager, Steven Pozsgay took his phone out of his pocket, dialed his phone and left the room. Leaving his staff with my sister and myself. His staff told us in his presence that our friend would no longer be able to make group reservations due to this mix up. The entire conversation deflected any responsibility of the park's staff and management. Instead, they chose to attempt to manipulate me into feeling negatable about my handling of the situation. Last I checked, businesses were in the business of making business, not discouraging it. My sister asked what the penalty would be to cancel Labor Day and Halloween weekend. She responded that we would lose all of money we paid. Which is a lie. You are only penalized one day. However, this all could have been avoided had they sent us confirmation emails when we called in to pay. Or, Steven Pozsgay supported his employee's way of handling the situation. Even if he would have come to me and said, she made a mistake. But no, he chose to be abrasive and inflammatory. Every year since Steven Pozsgay has taken over as manager there has been an issue with him. He is abrasive and confrontational. His management skills are poor at best. For over a year, the dump station was not operable, and he refused for campers without full hook up to dump in the full hook up lots that were vacant. If it weren't for the location being on Lake Huron, he would lose considerable amount of business. We will finish our current reservations at Forester Campground but won't schedule any further vacations there. We will only return when Seven Pozsgay is no longer the manager.

Tom and Connie were great hosts and more than willing to have a conversation and fill us in about the area. Also nice enough to let you be on your own. Cottage appears to be a converted garage but once you walk inside you will be pleasantly surprised. Main part of cabin has a bathroom with shower and toilet, a very nice raised kitchen with all the appliances you might be used to and a small dining area that sits right next to the bed in this room. Gas fireplace, sofa, book shelf and small closet are here also. This part of the cottage is a little too crowded especially if there are more than two of you. Off of the dining area is a very large addition that has two beds, a couple of chairs and a flat screen TV with satellite. This room is done nicely in white pine panel but could use some comfy chairs. There is also a washer and dryer in this room hidden in a closet. All of this sits on 30 or 40 acres of woods and manicured lawn. Tom told us that there was a creek and a tree house about a quarter mile back in the woods but that some one was renting the tree house back there so we did not go back. We did see a deer right outside our back room on Wednesday morning. You have the option of getting breakfast here and Tom and Connie delivered it to our room at 9 am. Nice touch. For the $95 we paid this was a deal. Would definitely consider coming back.

I spent a week there with my husband and kid. My kiddo loved having their own room unlike if we had chosen to stay at a hotel. All their cabins are on Lake Huron. You just walk out the back door and boom, there it is. Absolutely beautiful views. The cabin was really clean and had all the basic stuff you'd need. They provide a gas grill, utensils to cook with, towels ( not swim towels but all other towels), internet, a Roku connected to tv, a shower, etc. you get the point. It's very conveniently located to other city's up there. It's about 15- 20 min away from most of the tourist things to do. One of the cool parts of the lake is that along the shore are a bunch of boulders and rocks that create a wonderful habitat for little fish to swim around. So if you plan on swimming bring your snorkels so you can see the schools of fish swimming around. You'd be able to see them regardless cause the water is pretty clear on a calm day. But seeing them underwater is always fun. We also went to tour the lighthouse next to the cabins, snorkeled and kayaked at Harbor Beach. We tried out both of the popular ice cream places ( the one that I believe is called Rybeck is the better one imo.) we went to the farmers market and swam in the marina area down the street from the farmers market, and of course enjoyed stargazing. We saw a bunch of stars up there. A few small touches that were unexpected but fun was the guest book where former guests wrote things they did which was great to get ideas and they have this super tricky wooden puzzle that we worked on all week until we gave up and looked at the solutions on our last day. We can't wait to go back!

Overpriced for stays now, bathrooms flooding sewage, pool closed for sewage backup, I'm not a happy camper. They will not allow personal golf carts anymore, i had goose poop, cigarette butts, and the previous camper on my site left a good amount of their black tank contents on the ground. I paid $327.00 for 3 nights. For that amount, a person would expect a clean site. Big corporate campgrounds don't care about their property obviously. We used to camp here at least once a year for the past 6 years now. I can see why there were so many sites open now. Corporate greed has taken yet another nice campground down. We won't be back. (Why won't this site allow me to post zero stars? That's what this place deserves now!)

When we booked our site we asked to reserve a golf cart and were told we had to wait to get there…read more When we got there they said they were all booked and we had to do that while booking the site. The staff is very rude and unprofessional. Talked down to my Mother in law while she try to explain that we had been told to book the golf cart when we got here. When we went back to the office later we were told a different story that we needed to book the cart online. The pool was so cold the kids wouldn't swim. They needed to use the heaters, but I guess that cost too much money. The overall issue here is that the owners are money hungry and cheap. They pay their young staff the absolute minimum and work them too many hours which in turn makes the staff not care about the guests in the slightest. The power went out and the pool shut down because apparently the back-up generator had broke down and it "cost too much" to fix. It is sad because the park itself has a great location, great amenities and big sites. The owners need to learn that they could have a great thing here if they cared a bit more about the guest, take care of their employees more, spend the money on heating the pool when it gets chillier, and buy more golf carts with a policy all of the employees know. So, this is an add-on: I believe a manager of some sort came to our camp site after reading my review. Asked to speak to me, but I was walking the dog. He said he would be back at 7:00 to speak to me and never showed. We went to get ice cream and asked the front desk of he was coming or not. They proceeded to be rude yet again, surprise, surprise, and said "don't wait around and go ahead and leave your review my name is Tracie with an IE"! Guess I'll make sure to now leave this review on all our Michigan camping community websites and friends. All I can say is WOW!!! The owners are trolling our reviews and saying horrible things. My wife and I had to block them.
