Ordering wine!
Rebecca P.

Beautiful food. Beautiful wine... despite a complete lack of customer service. Absolutely incredible food. You will not be disappointed. It may have been the best pasta I ever tasted. Flank steak amazing! And the bruschetta when we first arrived was generous sized and incredible. Their veggies are from the garden! Locally sourced pasta. Honestly, food was soooo good! The servers just dumped this beautiful food on the table. We kept asking questions only to have our server reluctantly give the details. It could have been enhanced so much by the presentation! Unfortunately we had to ask about every single one of our meals. Otherwise we would have no clue. There is zero information given. Young servers that seat to you and walk away with no attention or care given whatsoever. The service is pretty shitty. They are lovely friendly girls who clearly have no experience. We did not meet one professional server despite a 90 minute lunch . We went to go buy wine and stood around for 20 minutes only to be snapped at that we weren't standing in a Covid free area. The wine and food is lovely. The scenery is beautiful. Don't be deterred by the crappy service. Still worth it.

If Google maps had its way perhaps we would been driving to the table side - thankfully logic prevailed and we noted the actual parking area before "arriving to our destination". Having not reserved we approached the hostess area and were advised of "someone will be right with you" four to five times before a woman presented with an iPad as a "waiting list keeper". Once we were entered her database with a cell number they would text us. We reviewed the menu and strategically planned what wines to enjoy with the meals chosen. Ironically be warned if you find yourself needing the restroom to plan to lineup for the only two available with the added bonus and taunt of a flowing fountain between both the two doors where the bathroom is. Because yes, they really want you to have to go sooner while waiting your turn in line. What!? The text arrived so we meandered back to the hostess area and proceeded to wait a bit more. Finally we were seated in the absolutely furthest table from the hostess area right beside a table of 10 drunk and very frank speaking women. Its a skill to be sitting so near and to try not to laugh at something their table innocently states in their drunkenness about their personal lives... Anyway the chill of October was making itself known so my wonderful boyfriend scored me one of the thin blankets i had initially turned down not realizing how cool it was becoming. We ordered the Bench Burger and the croque monsieur. The meals and suggested wine ordered our food arrived quickly. Each morsel and wine sip unlike anything ever tried. Utterly fantastic. We indulged in the chocolate dessert having then noted they just ran out of sticky pudding. It was incredible. Once we settled the bill we went over to the pay-to-taste building and simply purchased the wine we enjoyed at our meal. Wonderful.

Great food and wines with an amazing view. it does get busy so make a reservation. everything is top quality. Roasted Chicken Sandwich on fresh baked focaccia, asiago cheese, peperonata, pesto mayo and a side of potato salad ! Fresh and delcious. Went well with a Lake Breeze Pinot Gris from Naramata.

Lake Breeze Vineyards is our Favorite Place to have Lunch on the Naramata Bench. The restaurant area is al Fresco, there is No In Door Seating, though there are large umbrellas at each table. The menu offers all the lunch items one would want, from appetizers to sandwiches to salads to dinner plates. The only wine offered is Lake Breeze, and it is priced at Restaurant prices. Most of the Wine is offered by the bottle or glass. Once you are finished, or while you are waiting, you can visit the tasting room and buy wine to take home at normal retail prices.

It's a boring name--let's get that out of the way. Most wineries follow the pattern of sushi restaurants, completely lacking originality in their names. There are exceptions--Burrowing Owl, Silver Sage, Kraze Legz, but for each of those, there's a Road 13 (literally located on Road 13), Hillside, and Lake Breeze. My girlfriend and I were on vacation through Okanagan wine country. Over six days, we visited sixty wineries. That's sixty wineries, not an exaggeration. We ended the trip with 120 bottles acquired. Lake Breeze is one of the larger wineries in Naramata, matching the size of Poplar Grove or Hillside, but of those three, I enjoyed Lake Breeze the most. Yes, there's a bit of a corporate feel for it. Employees sell you more than the owners or winemakers directly. But the winery itself is stunning...when you disregard the actual tasting room. It's shockingly small for a building this size, with only a few feet of clearance between the bar and the wall. A $3 tasting fee is lower than most others that ask for $5. It's well made with ample selection of merchandise and related products; it's just a surprise the actual room is so small. The premises are vast, with several unconnected buildings inviting a fleeting if not enjoyable stroll, a rarity for the region where real estate is apparently rationed and rival winery tasting rooms are literal stone throws apart. Lake Breeze features signs to guide between locations; the most recommended being the Patio restaurant. Annoyingly enough, for some reason, the majority of review sites have split the entries for Lake Breeze and its onsite restaurant, only known as the Patio restaurant--way to follow that theme of original and thought-out names. Dealing exclusively with the winery, it's still more than worth the visit--I'd only recommend going early to avoid a crown, because if there's one, good luck squeezing in that tasting room. Lake Breeze is another great location in a region already profuse with praise. Just ignore its drab bottles and uninspired name. Seriously, we took our friends on a wine trip a few weeks ago, and they elected to avoid Lake Breeze judged exclusively on how boring the name was. It's still a great winery...that's just what happened. The Patio restaurant, is unbelievably, a patio. I know...you braced for some Mennonite Shyamalan-like twist there, like the patio was upside-down and people hung from swings or something. Wow...that's actually kind of awesome thinking about it. Regardless, it's a patio, but an attractive one, offering shade vital given the encroaching heat associated with Climate Change. We enjoyed a slight breeze on our lunch between other wineries, one flowing from the nearby lake, a...Lake...Breeze...if you will. The menu was obviously changed since last there as we have photos of an impressive charcuterie no longer offered on their menu. I know, right. What modern, trendy restaurant does not offer a charcuterie or antipasto plate? I thought for winery bistros, it was mandatory. It might have been a special that day, but its exclusion now is bizarre. What was also bizarre was the dog chained up nearby that only occasionally acknowledged the crowd that constantly tried to get his attention. I mean that was weird--a dog near a patio restaurant not interested in the food. Maybe he was one of those prole dogs that only enjoys barbecue. I did enjoy the food, but the view was the real draw, more than worth the pause in a wine journey. Sit back, enjoy, and then move on. Of all the restaurants in Naramata wine country, the Patio is one of the best for lunch.

Our first winery stop during our recent trip to Naramata. Our group was made of nine people and we had a reservation for lunch on their patio and also had the opportunity to get some wine tastings in. The view from this patio was amazing. It was a beautiful backdrop to go with an amazing lunch and of course, good company. I had the Croque Monsieur with the root vegetable slaw. The sandwich was made with smoked ham, Gruyère, on house baked sourdough rye, topped with spice jar mustard, and béchamel. It was sooo delicious!! I'd go back and eat it again. The flavours came together really well. My boyfriend had the linguini with clams. It was also very well prepared. I shared a bottle of vinoigner with a few others in my party and had a really great lunch experience. I would definitely recommend this place.

Go for the outdoor view. Food and service was good. Avoid the potato salad. A lot of children. Try the various small glasses of wine.

The orchard is great to relax and sip on a few wines. - Gin botanical cider - we were offered a cider to start before our flight. We were happy to sample a few more wines. All their fruit wines are delicious. Only the pear was light in flavour.

Service: - I specifically drove 14 hours from Calgary to this location as I remember 6 years ago this would my fondest memory of Kelowna. That changed very quickly. - This old lady with glasses, white shirt, and curly white hair that was managing the cash register around 1-130pm on August 11th 2023 was very rude to our party of "12". We told her we didn't need a table that large as not everyone in our group drinks and wanted to explore the winery. She started to give us an attitude and said that we can't have the rest standing around the winery. Could it be racism ? I 1000% believe so. Seeing that we were a group of Asian people she definitely didn't give us the service that she gave to other parties. My family was really excited to come here as majority of them was their first time here. 100% would NEVER come here again. I would recommend anyone that is not white to come her as this place is RACIST towards no white people Horrible service. Shameful. Awful experience. The ONLY upside was our wine tasting lady. She was very nice, but due to the sour experience of that cashier lady. I will never come back. Our party was about to buy 10 bottles of wine to bring back to Calgary and lucky we brought our services elsewhere. Ambiance: - terrible. Due to the experience above.

Probably my favorite wines we tasted during our vacation. The gentleman who lead us through our tasting was lovely. We didn't feel rushed and we loved that the tasting room overlooked the vineyard. Like both expensive and cheap wines, I'll try to squeeze all the goodness I can out of this review…read more The difficulty comes not from the location being inferior in any way, only that it's so unfortunately average. Deep Roots is the equivalent of Proxima Centauri. Yes, I'm talking about the red dwarf 4.24 light years away that recently came under focus after the discovery of potentially habitable planets and I forgot this is a wine review, and none of you care. The point is that Proxima is a small member of a star system (like that drummer with no beard in ZZ Top ironically actually named Frank Beard) that also containing two brighter stars like our own (the Alphas, or if you prefer, Billy and Dusty). Given their luminosity, it is impossible to perceive Proxima unless you have a good telescope and squint really, really hard. Brighter neighbors similarly overwhelm Deep Roots, and brighter not because of size, but more from originality and overall appeal. On its own, Deep Roots has a great name with a matching impressive logo. It's easy to reach with ample parking, and has a deceivingly simple exterior leading into a cozy if not (more appropriately) intimate tasting room. Read between the lines, it's small. My girlfriend and I were on vacation through Okanagan wine country. Over six days, we visited sixty wineries. That's sixty wineries, not an exaggeration. We ended the trip with 120 bottles acquired. Alas, none were from Deep Roots. We tried, taking in their offered samples, but despite the amazing view of the lake (which you can find at nearly all the wineries), we found little noteworthy with Deep Roots. I mean seriously, I took video and photos, and had to reference them to pull whatever I could into this review. It's shocking considering the winery's history--supposedly, Deep Roots is called that because it's one of the oldest in the region, tracking back several generations of the same family. And there are claims they sell a great Syrah, and everyone should please give them a chance because no two palettes are the same. I adore Silver Sage so don't take my taste buds as gospel. We only tried them because my girlfriend and I practically had to avoid them while finding the entrance to the more interesting Elephant Island around the corner. And yes, I just said the fruit winery that resembles a hippie commune is more interesting than the classic winery with a corkscrew symbol. But did we regret our visit? Absolutely not...the whole point of visiting regions like Naramata is to be spontaneous, to go where you weren't expecting. I can find Hillside and Therapy wines anywhere in the province. Deep Roots was not on the agenda--we rolled down the hill, forgot to brake and stumbled into a winery. Only in Naramata can that happen, and Deep Roots is worth a try for no other reason. However, if you are one of those insisting on planning every moment of a journey (Mom), than Deep Roots may not be high on your list.
