Stopped at this shop during a ride. Definitely a small shop but it has character and the service was outstanding.

He…read moremade the extra effort to help me decide which biking jersey would be best and what I should look for when purchasing cold weather biking wear. What I really appreciated was the conversation about the local biking scene and explaining how the various trails in the area were. On top of it all, the winter biking wear was 40% off and I was pleasantly surprised about the selection. They definitely had many styles in my size (XL). Here's the catch though - most of the clothing was from either Pearl Izumi or Bontrager. However, they definitely had clothing ranging from about $35 for a bike jersey all the way up to $150+ for biking tights. Obviously you will have to have reasonable expectations. Biking clothes at a local shop do cost quite a bit, but at least you can try them on and you are supporting a local business. Although I already have a bike and was not interested in buying a new bike, the selection of bikes was simply mind-blowing. I counted at least 150 bicycles and quite a few (I stopped counting at about 35) were on sale. The best part was that they had bikes for almost every budget range. Overall, I had a pleasant time at this bike shop and I will definitely stop in again when I am in the area.

I am very impressed with the service and selection they had. Jay helped us with the fittings. This is a terrific family run sporting goods store like they used to be. Very knowledgeable on a variety of topics. I rode my bike to work today, as well as the hardware store and home twice. The Bosch motor is quiet and propels u at an amazing pace. We will be going back to visit Kiddles soon. If u are looking for an excellent experience and are tired of the big box sporting goods stores and the big box no service. Go to Kiddles. Service is spotty---I bought a bike there last Fall, rode it a few times, and recently the whole derailleur and chain fell off when I was riding it. They charged me to fix it, which surprised me, as I could have been seriously hurt, and the bike was basically brand new which makes me wonder if it had been assembled correctly. That aside, normal service seems fine if slow at times, and of course there is high demand for bike service by kids and adults alike, esp. during summer. Responsive on phone and in person in general.

I like that I can call the owner on the phone if I have a question. I trust him and won't bring my bikes to anyone else when they need repairs. Because I am also a business owner, Keith asked my advice about a recent bad review by Dan S. and after talking with him I feel I should debunk it. Keith's description of the situation couldn't be more different than Dan S. posted on Yelp. Keith said Dan S. came in and had two bike repaired and he repaired them to his usual high standard. Dan S. called a few days later saying he heard a noise on one of the bikes. Keith said to bring it back in to be adjusted for free. The problem was an adjustment and was fixed in five minutes. Then on the way out the door Dan S. stated out of the blue that his wife fell off the other bike because a pedal fell off and started saying Keith was negligent and complaining that he wanted his money back. Keith told me he was very respectful to Dan S. but could not be held responsible for what happened with the bike days after the repairs were done and asked why Dan S. didnt bring in the bike since it was a serious accusation. Dan S. had no answer for him and left angry. Sounds like a shakedown to me having gone through it myself. Guy wanted something for nothing and Keith didn't give in. Keep up the good work Keith we're rooting for you against all the trolls on Yelp!

They replaced the fuel lines, replaced the spark plug, new carb but couldn't get it to start. Said sorry, gave me a bag of parts and charged $20. Ok, $20 is fair for work performed. However, the new spark plug wasn't really new, it was a newer used plug and it wasn't even the correct plug. They never put the gasket between carb and cylinder on, and never re-installed a spring loaded choke. So, took it to another shop, that actually jumped on it while I was there, got it running like a champ in 30 minutes and said who ever worked on it previously wasn't the best. I'm happy for those who are satisfied with Keith's and he's a nice guy, but I'm finished with people who says one thing and then do another. Most amazing is the wrong plug (a new one at Menard's is less than $4). Shake my head.

And on an on an on an on and on. And on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. And on and on and on and on and on an on and on and on and on and on. It was a long time. I waited. And I waited some more. I did some serious waiting five feet away in a red sweater. No acknowledgment. No letting me know it might be a while. But that would've likely stopped the upselling I started to see. So I turned me and my bike around and left. It's hard for me to be on my feet that long. That's why I bike. Dood has a right to be into his subject matter. Usually shops want you to feel comfortable and respected as somewhat of a priority, even if you aren't being directly pitched at the moment... it just was not a good vibe. All doods working there when I was in. Way heavy on the dood vibe. Captive audience syndrome. Sigh. Dood has to do what a dood does. I avoid places like this. Going to the bike collective in Rogers Park instead next time.

Previously my mom had bought a bicycle here but I had never visited the store. Since I was in the need of a new bike, since my original bike was accidentally donated, I figured this was a great place to start after my mom had such a good experience. Social distancing measures are still under affect so when I stopped by only four customers were allowed in at a time. While I did have to wait a bit to be helped it was worth it for the customer service. When I mentioned what I was looking for the employee (who I believe was one of the owners) was very knowledgeable and pointed me in the right direction. Of course it is best to test drive a bike just like a car so I rode around the parking lot for a couple of laps while he explained how to shift gears and shared other information about the bike. I ended up trying two the second being the one I ended up buying! It rode similar to the first but has that retro look which I was sort of looking for. Overall the experience was amazing and I will definitely stop by again especially because I want to try one of their protein shakes.
