The staff thoroughly explained how to operate the boat, anchor, and navigate the lake, which is why we chose to return for Fourth of July weekend. Unfortunately, the difference in service was night and day. At check-in, despite having reserved and paid months in advance, we were asked not only for our reservation confirmation but also for my fiancé's bank transaction to prove payment because of the marina's history of fraudulent reservations. As returning customers, being asked to provide our personal banking information to verify a reservation was both unnecessary and wildly unprofessional. Once on the lake, we had difficulty anchoring and called for assistance. We followed the instructions we were given, but the anchor detached completely from the rope. We returned to the marina and were charged for a replacement anchor. Later, when it was time to leave, the replacement anchor became stuck. Even after two nearby boaters swam over to help, we could not retrieve it. We called the marina again, asked for troubleshooting, and requested someone come assist us. We were told no. We had no choice but to return without the anchor and were charged for both anchors and a late fee--even though the delay resulted from equipment issues and the marina declined to assist us on the water. What disappointed me most wasn't the charges--it was the lack of customer service. As renters with limited boating experience, we relied on the marina's guidance and assistance when problems arose. Instead, we were left to figure it out ourselves and then billed for the outcome. I emailed management in an effort to resolve the matter privately before posting a review and never received a response. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Lakeway Marina and will be taking my business elsewhere.

The guys who run it are really nice and do an outstanding job running the place. It's always clean, and they'll help you with issues any time you ask. The marina itself is on a point, not in a cove which is what you want because no matter how low the lake gets there's always plenty of water there to keep things afloat, and once you exit the marina you're right on the deep part of the channel. If I ever buy another boat, I'll be returning here.

The ramp gets too steep to board the marina and it gets really tight departing the marina when you take your boat out. I don't blame the marina for this. Poor lake water management is not their fault so I will ding them for it. The price was one of the highest on the lake but I found out that you get what you pay for. I hope the new rental fleet does not degrade the the experience for marina residents as I have seen elsewhere. Good marinas are in short supply, this is one of them. Everything about the…read moreexperience was extremely streamlined from booking to filling out waivers to navigating to the marina. Willo gave superb instructions on operating and piloting the boat including an overview of relevant customs and laws while out on the water. Our group had six adults and one 2-year old and they had plenty of water safety devices for all ages. On a side note, it was wonderful to see how genuinely excited Willo was about Lake Travis once again having a healthy water level after several dry years. In terms of our experience on the lake, we got excellent advice on where to travel based on our team's interests and after following his directions it felt like we had arrived on our own private lake. We probably only saw a handful of other boats during our 3-hour excursion and that was only in passing. The boat came with a Garmin GPS that made it really easy to retrace our steps. For those wondering, there was excellent cell phone service out on the lake and we were able to use our phone GPS, make calls, and stream music. The boat had some nice integrated speakers with Bluetooth connectivity and we were able to jam out to our own tunes. There was also a cool flotation device attached to the back of the boat called the Aqua Lily Pad which we unrolled after anchoring, we had multiple adults laying on it without sinking into the lake. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience and we would highly recommend booking with Float On.

I was very impressed how easy it is just to text and have my boat in the water. The staff is great, extremely accommodating and helpful. Anytime I need to work on my boat, the service dock is available. They sell batteries and ice, just in case you need it. They also have a storage unit with tools and accessories if needed. Yes, I am writing a yet another review because the unethical behavior of not only the Manager, but…read morethe Owner as well, is appalling and really just unbelievable. The purpose of my reviews and contacting the BBB was to make the public aware of the way MFM choses to do business and how poorly they treat their 'customers' & their property. I have NEVER asked for financial reimbursement from Marshall Ford Marina except for one time, in the amount of $184. This was due to the fact that my paddle wheel was getting damaged after each launch and at that point, I had spent about $1,000 fixing it and did not feel that i should be responsible for paying to have it fixed once again. I even spent an additional $320 for a GPS speed reader so that I could do away with having the use the paddle wheel altogether. I submitted the same previous review that I submitted on YELP to BBB.org - for no other purpose than to educate and warn the public of this highly unethical operation. Again, I had no intention of seeking financial compensation from MFM. The Owner, Marcel, responded not with an apology, but rather claimed I was reimbursed $1,210 - which is a flat out LIE. Only $185 of that was requested of me. $50 of this 'reimbursement' was offered to me to make up for their screw ups, ie: not fueling the boat as requested before launching it and almost leaving my stranded in the lake. The other $130 wasn't requested either, but was given in the form of "1/2 month of storage fees" after Todd forcefully kicked me out of the marina with 8 hours notice... after I had already paid the entire month of April. They 'reimbursed' me a total of roughly $365, and I have all the bank records to show this. But they went so far as to falsify financial documents to make it look like I was given THREE free months of storage in Aug, Sept & Oct of 2019.. during a time which I had not been complaining to them about my repair bills. Last I checked, it is a crime to falsify financial documents. I did not request any reimbursement until Feb of 2020. The paddle wheel repair costs around $185.. so what legit company would actually give a total of $780 in free storages for repairs that would not add up to that amount? Especially when it is not requested by the customer? Very odd. They even went so far as so claim they paid my mechanic, Noack directly, "retail pricing" for my repairs! He confirmed that he has never received payment for repairs on my boat or for anyone else's from MFM. Also, Marcel accused me of harassing his staff. Not true at all. I had one firm conversation with Jessica expressing my dissatisfaction of Todd's gross misconduct, rude attitude, damage to my property, and his way of dealing with issues. Very understandable considering all the BS I have put up from them over the years. I was very clear that I was in no way blaming Jessica as she has always been courteous and helpful to me, and let her know my dissatisfaction was in Todd's terrible way of dealing with his customers. AVOID this place at all costs! I thought I was getting a good deal at $250/month when first signing up, but in the end I was left with a TON of repair fees, weeks of lost time on my boat, and constantly having to deal with a boat that did not perform optimally.. as well as being treated like absolute sh*t by the Manager & Owner. Honestly, a simple APOLOGY could have avoided all of these negative reviews. I have never in my life been treated so horribly by a business. If you need a storage place that will actually care for your property, go to Emerald Point Marina. You will pay a little bit more monthly, but their storage is climate controlled so you won't have to winterize. They also give you a parking pass, 10% off gas, 10% off at the restaurant and 10% Platinum Marina service. Better yet, they will treat you like a human being. BTW during all of this back and forth, I had a Billy R. (current leaseholder with MFM) reach out to me via facebook after he saw my Yelp review. He showed me photos of his boat that was damaged by MFM (see attached). Of course, they tried to blame him for the damage.. but he noted the damage right after a foreclosed boat was moved next to his. Then, weeks later, after MFM put his boat back into the water after a refuel, it SANK. Of course, this was blamed on him as well. I don't know how anyone could continue to give MFM business if you consider: Stuart Mason's BBB review, Billy's sunken boat, my drama saga, Beverly Lee's Facebook review, and the numerous others who have had to deal with property damage and Todd's disrespectful attitude. I hope this review makes you reconsider your storage options. I will not be silent about this until MFM comes clean and starts being HONEST to their customers and the public.
