I had a really wonderful time getting to know some of the members of this community and celebrating my friend's birthday but I do not think I will be returning to the outdoor pool after we were treated poorly by Gail, the pool attendant. She was incredibly rude for no reason to my friend when he was throwing away trash, saying "cant you read?!" (When his second language is english) Because he was putting (non recyclable) bottles into the trash. And then when we were leaving, and putting on our clothes again, with our stuff still on the table, she raised her voice at us and said "didn't your mother teach you to push in the chairs when you leave places?" We hadn't left yet. And I am a grown adult. There are ten thousand ways to treat people better than that. Especially when we paid to be there and were being respectful the entire time. We just left quickly because we were really frustrated. She took the time to yell at us but walked right past people with their phones out with no camera covering so I guess safety isn't as important to her as the power trip she's on. It's a wonder why there are no younger people here when there's someone so condescending and rude put in power. read more

I wanted to visit for some time and really wanted to like this place. However, from the moment I walked into the office to check in, as a single man just wanting get some weekend sun and relaxation, I was met with indifference and almost hostility by the office staff. I certainly wasn't there to bother anyone but they made me feel unwelcome. That being said, the restaurant and bar staff were quite gracious and friendly and the food and drinks were very good. The grounds are in need of some serious refurbishment and upkeep. For instance, the pool deck area was full of leaves and dirt that a morning simple leaf blower and hosing down could have fixed in 10 minutes. Overall I enjoyed the day but ended up checking out early and probably won't return. read more

I have mixed feelings about my experience with Laguna Del Sol. On one hand, it's one of the few clothing optional resorts in my area and I'm thankful I had a chance to experience that. On the other hand, I was disappointed by the resort itself. Many of the faculties were in bad shape, the island and archery range being in particularly bad shape, and (perhaps because geese we passing through the area) there was a lot of bird poop on roads and grass around the lake. And in general, I didn't feel like there was much to do. Especially considering the $42 fee (for non-members) at the door. Although, I ended up having a nice time on these trails on the north end of the resort. I didn't see anything about these online, but the folks at the front desk mentioned them and I had a nice time going on a short hike up there. Overall, it's just not for me. I had a decent time at Laguna del Sol, but I don't see myself coming back any time soon. read more

We visited Laguna del Sol on Monday, 3/2/26, arriving around 10:30am after driving three hours for a visit we had planned for over a year. After completing orientation, we went to the hot tub area. As soon as I disrobed, a man standing near (not in) the hot tub raised his phone and took a photo of me. A short time later, when I stepped out briefly to go toward the pool, he again pointed his phone directly at me and took another photo. Being photographed nude without consent is a serious privacy violation and immediately made us uncomfortable. Within approximately 15 minutes of entering the hot tub, an employee approached us and delivered a stern lecture about sexual behavior in the pool area. My partner and I had briefly cuddled and kissed when we first got in. We understand that maintaining community standards is important and we respect the rules. However, the tone was harsh and reprimanding rather than professional. What was particularly concerning is that there was no acknowledgment of the fact that I had just been photographed without consent. When we later reported the individual to the office, we also attempted to calmly explain to the staff member that while we respect enforcement of rules, we would have appreciated a more respectful tone. Instead, we were talked over and met with further aggression. Because we felt exposed and unwelcome, we left less than an hour into our visit despite having paid for a full day. We are sharing this in hopes that management will review what occurred that morning -- both the unauthorized photography and the manner in which the situation was handled. We would appreciate follow-up regarding what actions are taken to protect guest privacy and ensure respectful communication going forward. read more

My husband and I love going to Laguna Del Sol, it's our lil get away from home! Just to start the tour was done so welcoming, the first day of our tour we dry camped. This was around summer so the weather was perfect. The pools and amenities are walking distance, kept very clean. We've also stayed at the hotel aka the White House a few times. Where we just spend all day in the indoor pool or getting some direct sun from the patio with a beautiful view. read more

OK, if you like to run around naked (like me)-- Laguna del Sol may be a great place to hang out! If you want to spend the night, there are lots of options to choose from, however, reservations in advance are really important!!! You can bring your own RV, and take advantage of hooking up to water and electricity. If you become a member at LDS, you can have your RV stored there, and pulled out before you arrive. All of rental units that LDS had to rent for this weekend were sold out a week ago. We tried several times during the week to see if there were any cancelations. There weren't, and we really wanted to hang out with our friends (who had fortunately called in earlier for reservations and got them). We were desperate for a place to stay at LDS, so we decided on what was available--dry camping. We pulled out our two person tent stored in our garage, and dusted it off. Then we made a list of what we needed to take with us. We didn't need much clothing--since clothing isn't encouraged, and the forecast said it was going to be hotter than hell. We filled a large cooler with foods that were quick and easy. We used one of the gas grills at LDS to cook steak, and corn on the cob, and also another meal we used the grill to BBQ our precooked short ribs. We decided to not get food from the restaurant because our friends ate breakfast there the week before and they weren't impressed with what they got. Tip: if you are leaving from the Bay Area on a Friday during the busy season, leave before 10 am. Recently, we left on a Friday at around 12:20 pm, and got stuck in a huge slow down in what seemed like middle of nowhere. Actually, it was a 4 way stop sign. The next time, we left the Bay Area on Friday around 10 am, and that 4 way stop sign was easy smeazy. Tip: look at the weather forecast, and if the heat is going to be really high (in the hundreds) I highly recommend not to do dry camping (dud). Even though I hung out most of the time in the swimming pool, the next day, I was totally exhausted. I just wanted to sleep (and we didn't have an air-conditioned room to sleep in). There are lots of things to do at LDS while being in the buff including hiking, swimming, tennis, pickleball, horse shoes , water volley ball, dancing and archery. There is lots of animals to be seen and heard. This last weekend we could hear the coyotes howling in the distance. There are snakes, and when we were hiking last summer, my friend had a close call with a rattlesnake (just watch where you walk and or sit in nature). BTW, you aren't allowed to take photos at LDS (for privacy reasons). So, I highly recommend going to Laguna del Sol if you like being in nature with no clothes. If I can split this in 3 parts, I would. One will be 4 5 stars - the people visiting the place; 2 stars for the so-called luxury hotel, aka the white house; 2 stars for the staff. The people visiting the place are from California and other parts of the country. You will also find many seniors with living quarters there. But that's the thing, it seems like a senior citizen recreation park. But you will find a younger crowd during the weekends. This is our first visit after a very long period of not going there (maybe 12 years ago), we decided to give it a go. The follow-up of our visit was a comedy of mishaps from having our room ready after almost 2 hours, to giving us the wrong keys, to the television not getting reception, to not having shower gel in the dispensar. While they were getting our room ready, the manager made amends by offering a meal certificate, which we appreciated. The staff seemed somewhat dysfunctional and their frustrations was evident, thus the mishaps. Don't know if we'll return but if we do, I hope they get it right. As for the returning to a luxury room, that is questionable. read more

I've been here several times over the past 6 years. Each was a fabulous time with friends in a super chill environment. But keep in mind this is not a luxury resort, it is a community. Yes some people live there permanently. It is a great community full of really nice people. The rooms vary from budget to almost hotel like. I've only ever stayed in the budget room, because well, I'm there to enjoy the sun and the pools. Budget room includes a full size bed, a mini fridge (with a small freezer section) and its own bathroom, and one chair. Really that is all that will fit in the room. Yes, there is a tv in the room. The bathroom is a small standup shower with a toilet and sink all in the same room. The "resort" has everything you can need and them some. There is a gym, and a game room with pool tables. There is a dance club that opens on weekends with a bar and outside patio. You can practice archery (free and they have the stuff to lend you), a small lake that you can feed the ducks/turtles., maybe even paddleboard or kayak. For those with trailers, you can rent space to park a trailer. For those that like to camp, in the warmer months you can do that too! There is a restaurant on site. The food is pretty good, though the pricing has gone up, so be prepared. Also a small boutique on site with some fun clothes (this is a bit funny to me because this is a nudist community, lol), and trinkets. Again, everyone is friendly so just say Hi, relax and let it all hang out. lol. read more

Always a great visit. It is a community first so yes, the food isn't Michelin and the beds can be a little stiff but I certainly don't go there for that. The pools are soothing and the atmosphere is relaxing. Don't worry about the 'Pool Nazi'. Frankly, she keeps the pool from becoming a swingers den or a sty. Meals are OK and drinks are much better. Weekend nights are fun with the dances at the Moonshadow Lounge though I will admit, the playlist doesn't change much. Rooms are totally fine with White House and Park models at the top of the food chain. If you want to camp, there are plenty of sites that offer accessibility or isolation as you see fit. Overall, one of the best all-around nudist resorts I've been to in 30 years experience and visiting a few dozen resorts. read more

The place however is dirty, from the cobwebs in the 'dance' hall/room/bar, the bathrooms at the pool are disgusting, it needs to be cleaned up a bit. And the 'pool nazi', wow, can you find something else more constructive to do? This place is NOT "CLOTHING OPTIONAL" as prominently advertised on their website. Per our tour, CLOTHING IS FORBIDDEN, except the restaurant. How is that "optional"? The tour was so rapid, the rules coming at us so fast, I couldn't even gather my words for a question because we were already at another building! Also from their website, "here are some suggestions for "nudist clothing" that won't look too conspicuous: A long t-shirt, beach cover-up, sarong or towel will do just fine. I usually tell people about this location. I think it's a lovely place to get your tan. Now, on the other side, some of the people working there are transphobic or uneducated. I have experienced the staff talking about my gender and referring to me as the opposite of my gender identity and my looks. I find this funny because they talk about feeling comfortable and embracing your body, yet the employees are not aware that it is not just for people who are unhappy with their body shape or weight. Love the pools and hot tub options...but they have the incorrect info on their website about the restaurant hours. We went in August, and the website says "Open daily during the summer, 5 days a week Spring & Fall, and Fri-Sun, November through March." I understand that there are a lot fewer people during the week, but it affects how we plan for a trip! We arrived on Wednesday, since we wanted to have a quiet few days there rather than the weekend crowd. We got to our room, got nekkid, then decided to check in about the restaurant hours. There were no hours on the door to the restaurant or on the website, so we went to the office to ask. When they told us the restaurant wasn't going to be open until Friday, we had to get dressed again and spend about an hour laying in supplies at the Bel Aire market about 10 miles away. Traffic was surprisingly bad. We hadn't planned on leaving once when we got there, so this was pretty irritating. If I had known we were going to be feeding ourselves I would have brought the food I had in my fridge at home. It was like camping at an expensive indoor campsite! Also, the showerhead didn't work in the room. I'd suggest, if you're planning to rent a room here, look into the cottages rather than the hotel-style rooms. They at least have kitchenettes. And do not bother with the Dillard store, unless you're just going for ice. It's basically just one of those gas station stores that sell Doritos, Bud, and cheap sunglasses. This place has changed it's policy of literally no genital jewelry. I have been going there for literally six years with jewelry and was today told to leave because of my jewelry. Do not ever go here. I wear my jewelry for medical reasons and because my jewelry was "shiny" I was told I had to remove it. If you have to wear something because medical reasons don't you want it to be a astatically pleasing? I was told I had to remove it they don't care whether it's for medical reasons they don't care one way or the other. They just don't care. Do you not do business with this place they do not care one way or the other about your Personal preference or your medical reasons all they care about is their liberal feelings. The actual owners will not return my emails so that tells you how liberal all of them are. Just don't do business with this place. They allow sex in the the hot tubs after hours and do nothing even after complaints. I will never return until management is replaced. read more

Since I see so much negativity about the resort here's a little of my input. We have been coming to laguna for about 7 years now. Has it changed yes, is it horrible no. As much as I will admitt it doesn't have the same were a big family feel this is still a wonderful place to be. Covid has had a negative impact on the resort, just like many other businesses. Is the restaurant always open as they plan, no. So u gotta plan ahead. Things change. Are some things not working properly, yeah. Things happen. U can't expect any business to run perfectly all the time. If u want a place where u can go and relax and feel comfortable in your own skin with no judgment and know that someone is always there to help if needed, and there are friends to be made around every corner then this is where you wanna be. We have made some amazing friends over the years. Have we had any negative experiences, of course. U do everywhere. But u just gotta move on. There is a lot to maintain here. 4 pools, 2 hot tubs, 1 conversation pool, gym, restaurant, night club, 2 hotels, park models, all the electric and water sites, the grounds, the employees, the lake, the wild life, the archery range, the rec room, I believe 4 sets of shower rooms and restrooms and the boutique. Not to mention that fixing things takes time and is expensive. And to top it all off they have to always keep an eye on everyone to make things safe. There is some amazing staff here. But gotta realize that because of covid sometimes they are under staffed. I can say as a bigger girl myself I have been able to go to this resort and feel 100% comfortable. More comfortable than anywhere else I go. And to me that is a big thing. So come here, plan ahead, expect something to not go as expected and enjoy yourself. It's worth it! read more

My friend and I had a reservation for a Sunday night hotel room but were unable to make the mandatory scheduled tour at 10am due to accident on I80. After driving several hours from San Jose, we called to state that we would be 40min late per GPS. Laguna told us too bad, come tomorrow. We don't have space for later tour, oh well. We couldn't believe it! I had been before and the tour is just guiding you around property and pointing out pools, camp sites etc... I could have given this tour to my friend and we could explore on our own. The only thing important is that the paperwork and license are scanned in addition to no photo policy. That should be sufficient but no, you need a forced tour. Office staff is extremely rude. This I isn't the first time either. My last visit we were turned away after arriving cause we didn't know we had to have a tour by 4pm. Our car was packed for weekend too. We were going to leave but one of the tour guides felt bad and gave us a tour finally. They are so awful!!! I would never return!!! read more

A lovely beautiful place, so well tended, grounds crews going all the time. The hot tub is off limits due to the situation but the conversation pool is open,with neat little x marks so you can keep your distance. There is no indoor dining, but there is a delightful patio and our server was pleasant and professional. They do have a limited menu and hours which is to be expected, to me it was lovely just getting a bit I didn't make. The gym was open, with a strict limit. People were really good about that. Still absolutely furious. Friends invited me for the weekend, but I wasn't super into it (I'm not a hardcore nudist). But I'm down to skinnydip and get a little tanline reduction, so cool, why not. So I came up on a Saturday to do a day pass; hit massive traffic so took me three hours. I arrive to be told, I'm assuming by the same intensely aggressive staff noted in many reviews... that I missed the last tour at 3:00pm and I'd have to come back tomorrow. I DROVE THREE HOURS. No flexibility. No empathy. No volunteering to take me on a little tour themselves to fulfill their requirement. Nothing. I could go check into a local hotel for $120, early afternoon, and kill 17 hours until they had someone to tour me, or I could do a U Turn and drove 3 hours home. An entire day of my weekend gone. A full tank of gas burned. 220 miles driven. And I got stopped at the lobby and turned around. To hell with this place. Angrier than I've been in years, at a business. To make matters worse, I have now heard from several women that they were simply allowed to bypass the tour. It seems that this place discriminates against men and assumes that I will be problematic or potentially problematic there because of my gender. Visited with friends for the first time a month ago and now I'm hooked. My friends are long-time Gold members so they were able to take me on the tour after the office staff told me the basic rules of conduct. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and set up camp. The resort offers lots of amenities including a restaurant, 4 pools (including 1 for kids, 1 for volleyball, and 1 indoors) 3 hot tubs, tennis courts and pickle ball courts, archery range, dog play area, nature walks, hotel rooms, camping (both tent and RV with hookups), bar with dancing every weekend and theme nights just about every other weekend, events (Grin and Bare It motorcycle poker run, Nudestock, and Naked Man to name a few). I have found it to be a safe and welcoming environment. The barriers that keeps us from connecting with others are literally stripped away. We are unable to judge others based on their clothing. What freedom to be able see each other's personalities shine through! I have now been three times for a total of 10 days in the last month and will continue to go as often as possible. It is worth the price of a Gold Membership if you average even just one weekend per month. Lose your inhibitions and enjoy nature at it's very best. read more

After last weekends incident, I feel the need to post a review. 1) Ms Gayle... Please calm down in the pool area. I saw her yelling at a younger couple because the girl had a sarong on her bottom in the pool area. It was their first time there, she wasn't aware of the complete rules. As for you folding up people's towels and hanging them on the fence-you should keep your hands off other people's things. Didn't your parents ever teach you to not touch things that don't belong to you? 2) The cottage that we rented(1000), the air conditioner was broken. It was way hotter inside than outside, also the screen door doesn't open and shut like it's supposed to($139 a night??) Crazy.. 3) I'm not sure of her name but she told me that she was the "park manager". African American lady, heavy set, really bad attitude. We were sitting outside the bar(right before a dance) and we were vaping. She told me that the "park owners didn't want anyone vaping on the patio". Although there is a sign saying "smoking area" outside(we were in the designated area.) She made us walk down the steps to the volleyball court to vape. 4) The restaurant is suuuuuuuuuuuuper slow on getting orders out to people. And they messed up my order, but I chose not to complain because it took so long to get, I just wasn't sure if I would ever get my meal if I sent it back. The grounds are clean, nice and open. There is plenty of space for an RV, tent or camper. The pool was cold, but the hot tub was hot and ready to go. Overall, I had an ok time. read more

Not enough loungers, the pool is cold, and the bathrooms are gnar... but if you like to have your hog out it's your place. The dance would've been fun if the music was up to date. It's kind of a KOA with everyones lil turtle out ! If you like camping, overweight men in sarongs, and cranky nanas giving you all the rules then this place is for you. The biggest obstacle was to see children navigating the sea of old man balls... it's uncomfortable to have children in that environment. If was strictly as resort I could get into it, but with the eclectic permeant residents it feels like I'm at the Koresh compound.. not sexy.... We stayed at Laguna Del Sol this weekend for two nights. My girlfriend and I had a blast , this was our first trip ever to a nudist resort. We had only been to nude beaches before and didn't really know what to expect at LDS. The resort is pretty cool with quite a few options as far as activities but we had the most fun in the main pool . The people that we met were extremely friendly and welcoming to a couple of people who were new to the nude experience. The resort is having staffing issues but the same can be said for many other businesses of all kinds. We will definitely be heading back to LDS in the future. Al read more

Since Yelp is not allowing me up update and old review, I'm writing a new one: I feel that I really can't talk concerning the dances anymore because I haven't been to the dances for a long time and I honestly have no idea what they're like, now. And so my original review may have been accurate, at the time, but today, not having attended any of the dances for several years, I feel it wouldn't be fair to Laguna. This new review is about the resort, yes, but not the dances and not the restaurant because we don't use either. The changes I did notice for the rest of the resort: The LDS maintenance staff is really kicking ass and working hard to keep this place maintained and it shows. The office staff is always super kind, everytime I've come in to discuss an issue, they've been on it ASAP. Honestly (again, we are dry campers who only go there to enjoy the grounds, the walks naked in the sun, we don't use the restaurant or the lounge) if you come here to be an ass and break the rules, you're not going to like it. But if you come here to enjoy nature in your birthday suit, be kind and respectful of others, not harass people, Laguna is awesome. I would like to see the dog and leash laws more enforced because the number of entitled cretins who keep trying to fuck with my service dog is really something, however, everytime I've had an issue with such people, the office staff including the manager have been on it and for that, I'm grateful. Laguna is easy: -don't be a creep -enjoy being naked in nature -don't be an asshole -enjoy being nude in the sun -don't be an entitled jerk -enjoy the breeze on your bare skin ... it's not rocket science, is it? But for wholesome fun in nature, you can't beat it: instant vitamin D fix while surrounded by trees, grass and ponds, river access and pretty hikes (all on flat grounds, easy terrain) , hell, if you take your time to watch, even the geese are entertaining. read more

Update (again): I live here full time now. Love my home, love this community, love my friends, love my life! I need to update this review because the restaurant is now serving fabulous food with great service! The amenities are upscale and the main pool has recently been remodeled to accommodate a much larger crowd. The friendliest people are on the Pickleball courts! Went back for the wife's birthday and stayed in the white house. Pool and hot tub in the white house was closed but it was a short fun walk to the main pool that was open.
