We booked this hotel the day before our arrival. In town for a wedding and were able to get a suite to be comfortable. Room was ready to check in early when we arrived. Clean and spacious. Big bathroom which was nice. Living room was nice, also had a stereo. TVs in living area and bedroom. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of parking in lot.

A first timer to this hotel and upon arriving at the room on the 3rd floor, started smelling Marijuana! I don't know who the heck was smoking it, but seemed like for hours since the whole hallway stunk of weed. Not the expectation you get when staying at a Fairfield, especially a Marriott hotel property. Some people may not mind, but there are some people who do care and are also allergic to that kind of smell! Requested for extra lotion and body wash more than 5 times! Once on the App, 2 times at the front desk when checking in, once by phone and again at the check-in desk in the late evening after we got back from getting dinner. Each time they said housekeeping would bring them up, but never came. I don't know what happened... Anyway, the outlets do not work on the lamps in the room on one side of the room. Cannot charge the phone unless you use your USB on the radio. And then there is only 1 Elevator at the hotel property which is SUPER SLOW! The slowest, EVER!!! Dunno how it hasn't been upgraded, yet. The only pluses for this property are: Parking, restaurants and stores nearby. About a 3.0 mile radius. FREE WiFi. Dunno if I would stay at this property again after just a 1-nighter. Probably better Marriott hotels around the area...

"I'll carry your bags for you" offered the young lady working at the reception desk. I had asked her about the elevator not working, and she was very apologetic and even offered to carry my bags for me. Wow! First time at this facility, and it was a pretty decent experience. The breakfast buffet was very good, with the usual hot eggs, bacon, yogurt, oatmeal, and of course the requisite waffle maker. At 6 a.m. in the morning, there was only one other patron in the dining room. My room was clean, orderly, and fairly modern. The beds appear to be nearly new. The bathroom had a cheap feel to it. All the appliances and AC worked great. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi, and free newspapers in the lobby. The lobby is very bright and cheerful. There is a small business area with computer and printer as well. Whatever you do, do not give them your email address! I have now received three email spams from them, the last one after I explicitly unsubscribed. I booked my room through Travelocity, and did not have any special discount or deal. I thought the value was just okay. After checkout, I see that they had automatically added me to their email list for surveys. Of course, I unsubscribed, but I found this annoying.

Came to stay a night with a couple other people. Greeted by amicable staff and was able to check in early with room access. Room was ample, we requested a roll in bed and was delivered (thank you!). Pool, weights available. Continental breakfast available. Plenty of parking in the lot. Great place within driving distance to adjacent cities.

Lots of homeless in this area

Let's just say when we saw this sign in parking lot and broken car glass all over in the back we did not feel safe with leaving anything in the car. The hotel staff is very good, rooms clean though worst showers ever. No pressure and terrible shower head. Breakfast closes at 9am forcing you to get up early when on vacation.

Claustrophobic room, notice the TV on top of the media center. Weird angle to watch from bed and there's no room to move a chair in there.

Wow just a very clean and love the plants, which there was more since it's a garden inn. The staff was very pleasant to talk to, I was bored in around 5 am and the guy in the lobby add coffee was talkative so we chatted. lol. So before I get into the room info, I was afraid of staying here was gonna be noisy, due to the fact of they put us next to the elevator, (lol) and there was a soccer event going on, (and did I mention it's all kid's soccer) , so hotel was sold out with kids everywhere. And I have to admit I heard no noise from the elevator, and nothing at night. However about 7to 8 am , we did hear some running but it was muffled Our room was very nice. You walk in to the tv rooom area , bathroom to your left, and as you walk in more you'll see the mini kitchen and mini fridge. This room as its own ac/heater unit separate from the bedroom. Just fyi. There is a sofa and single chair , both very comfortable for a big guy like me. Walking into the bedroom , beautiful big room, with a good size bed, King of course, tv on dresser, and 2 bathroom with shower and separate bathtub.

I've been a Hilton loyalist for the better part of 25 years. You can see my other recent reviews…read morefor Hilton properties, as I think this era may be coming to an end. It seems that it's becoming an entire Hilton thing to require a PLASTIC credit card to check in; rendering their app check-in useless. This was the forth property in a row to require it. I actually watched the desk agent and (I can only assume was their night manager) treating a customer ahead of me poorly because he wanted to use Apple Pay on their payment device. In my case, I checked in on the app, but the digital key was never approved which required me to go to the front desk upon arrival. While it's only a minor inconvenience, I do really like the time I used to be able to save by using the app. Next, it seems that several full years after the end of the restrictions for COVID, Hilton still hasn't returned to servicing rooms daily for multi-day stays. I was forced to stay at a Marriott property a couple of months ago and my room was serviced daily without me having to ask. In my opinion, a hotel is both lazy and cheap if they won't service daily. Lastly, the pantry was pathetic. Literally two selections in their freezer and not a great selection of snacks. So, while this has been my go to property when I need to stay in Elk Grove, it may be for future trips and I'd strongly suggest that you weigh the amenities against your what the hotel management has set up.

But with that, Elk Grove is a good-hotel desert. Seemingly, the competitor hotels are old and outdated, and this one is rather new and updated. The ambiance in the front lobby is very chill, clean, and the staff are nice. The hotel rooms look like studio apartments with the fridge, kitchen, dishwasher, provided utensils, desk, etc. I do feel like some of the hotel rooms that I've stayed in here could have been much cleaner. Also, the trash cans in the bathroom and in the room do not have bags in them, which makes some people throw trash that will touch the trash cans. The last time that I stayed here, the kitchen sponge to wash the dishes were previously used, and the paper towel roll in the kitchen was all dirty. For breakfast in the mornings, they are alright. The eggs and sausage were a bit cold, I definitely feel like they can put the breakfast in food trays that can keep them warm. I do recommend coming here and trying the place out and see if you like it. My first few visits here were good, but my recent visit here was alright. There are some hotel rooms here that look more modern and more clean, like having a spacious shower with glass doors. On my most recent visit here, I had a bathtub shower with shower curtains; so it depends on which hotel room you book!

I went to breakfast which was free and was again amazed at what had changed in the world. My room was so beautiful and clean with so many nice touches. I love the dove hand wash and body lotion. Love it here tub and shower shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The tall ceilings and quiet rooms--thanks to excellent insulation--made the stay very comfortable. I also liked the different water options available near the front desk, especially since the bottled water in the rooms cost $10 each. The music in the pool area created a great atmosphere, and the jacuzzi was a nice size and very enjoyable. However, the main issue was the mandatory valet fee--even when not using valet service. This makes no sense and feels unreasonable. If arriving by Uber or not bringing a car, there is no justification for being charged valet. The website does not clearly state that valet is mandatory, and there was no prior notice when booking. At check-in, staff simply said, "We have to charge it anyway," regardless of whether the service was used. The fee is also quite high at $52 per night, which adds up quickly for a service not utilized. According to previous reviews, valet fees have increased significantly over the past three years. I would not stay at this Westin Hotels & Resorts location again. The accumulation of mandatory fees makes the experience feel transactional rather than guest-focused. I would much rather voluntarily tip valet staff when I actually use and appreciate their service, rather than be required to pay a substantial fee regardless of need. Overall, while the hotel has many appealing qualities, the mandatory valet charge without clear disclosure or usage was a major drawback.
