This hotel was amazing!! Recently renovated and it was really nice. The staff were also amazing--Zak, Toni Mack, and housekeeping! Toni was so sweet and helped my partner figure out a vase for some Valentine's flowers, got us some milk to go with our brownies, and more! They were able to get us a late checkout which was helpful as well! Plenty of parking and convenient location not far from a bunch of restaurants. Great breakfast in the morning. My only complaint was a nearby gas station that plays opera music to keep from loitering, but if you keep your window closed you can't hear it. The hot tub was great but the jets didn't work for us. We'll definitely be back in the future!! read more

Freeway side is ridiculously loud. Might as well be sleeping under the overpass. Wish I had paid more attention to where I booked, but since it's a Marriott I assumed for almost $300 a night (including tax) that there would at least be better sound proofing. I will say I picked the highest floor (3rd) because it's a sports tournament weekend and didn't want little feet running over head. I chose wrong. Parking spots are very tight, but there are nice big ev charging station spots. Front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. read more

We travel quite a bit for work so we're always looking for affordable options at our destinations. Fairfield Inn is always really solid so when we had a recent trip out to Elk Grove, we decided to stay here. The price was very reasonable and check-in was super smooth and fast. We were exhausted after nearly a 2 hour drive to get here so just wanted to get some sleep. When we got to the room, it looked pretty standard, except the bathroom was noticeably in need of a refresh (lots of old, stained caulk, stained bath pan, etc)... but this was only the beginning of our troubles. The room (203) has a bright flood light just outside the window - we have no idea what it's for and why it stayed on well into the night, but we had to draw the blackout curtains and even still, could see bits of light spilling through. It seems pretty ridiculous to have a light positioned like this that's obviously going to be inconvenient for guests staying in certain rooms. In addition to the flood light, there was some type of music playing well past the posted "quiet hours" of 10pm. We had no idea where it was coming from, but again, not super ideal. The walls/ceilings are also pretty thin - we could hear a tv on from another room as well as the traffic from the 99 freeway, which is quite busy. I'm sure we could've requested a different room, but again, after a 2 hour drive and arriving late, we just exhausted and settled for earplugs and eye masks. The next morning and quite early (maybe around 7:30 or 8am), we could hear a bunch of commotion in the hallway near the elevator and realized half the floor was under construction, so the workers were out doing work. Hopefully they're refreshing the rooms and simply have not yet gotten to the half of the floor where we were staying. The breakfast is pretty standard, which is to say it's not great, but it "does the job". Thankfully, there are plenty of options nearby, including a Starbucks that is easily walking distance. Across the freeway, you can get an awesome breakfast burrito at "The Mexican Taco Shop" and I'm pretty sure I saw a McDonalds as well, so if the included breakfast isn't for you, you'll have other options. On the plus side, the parking near the entrance was plentiful and felt reasonably secure. Next time we're in town, we would likely look for other options, perhaps newer properties that are a bit farther from the freeway. read more

We booked this hotel the day before our arrival. In town for a wedding and were able to get a suite to be comfortable. Room was ready to check in early when we arrived. Clean and spacious. Cheap nickel and dime types that shouldn't be in hospitality business. For the price you pay, don't expect this to be same as better and nicer ones. It is clearly a poorly ran franchise of this chain owned by cheap, inhospitable people with no sense of taking care of their paying guests. You may as well stay somewhere else with this rate as it's not as if this area is particularly special either with loud freeway noise and unhoused people all around the parking lot. So disappointed in the property, it's a great convenient location, however we weren't told that property was under construction, lots of dust throughout the building, and most amenities closed , and really no one wants a complimentary breakfast in a dust storm, the worst part was the white sheets on the beds had lots of black lint all over them which at first glance looked like bed bugs, ( the might need to clean the dust trap on the dryers ) the property was very accommodating by offering to comp the stay , which we really appreciated , but unfortunately they have yet to reverse the charges after I have contacted the property a few times, each time they claimed they have reversed the charges but I have yet to receive the funds , I will be contacting Marriott's corporate office very soon ! read more

A first timer to this hotel and upon arriving at the room on the 3rd floor, started smelling Marijuana! I don't know who the heck was smoking it, but seemed like for hours since the whole hallway stunk of weed. Not the expectation you get when staying at a Fairfield, especially a Marriott hotel property. Some people may not mind, but there are some people who do care and are also allergic to that kind of smell! Requested for extra lotion and body wash more than 5 times! Once on the App, 2 times at the front desk when checking in, once by phone and again at the check-in desk in the late evening after we got back from getting dinner. Each time they said housekeeping would bring them up, but never came. I don't know what happened... Anyway, the outlets do not work on the lamps in the room on one side of the room. Cannot charge the phone unless you use your USB on the radio. And then there is only 1 Elevator at the hotel property which is SUPER SLOW! The slowest, EVER!!! Dunno how it hasn't been upgraded, yet. The only pluses for this property are: Parking, restaurants and stores nearby. About a 3.0 mile radius. FREE WiFi. Dunno if I would stay at this property again after just a 1-nighter. Everything previous Yelpers have written about this place is correct. I will just give you some highlights/top notes. 1. SUPER LOUD location right off the freeway. This does however make it easy to access from all surrounding areas. 2. Useless elevator due to size and slowness. We took the stairs every time except checkin and check out when we had luggage. 3. The rooms are old but clean and the bathrooms are clean also. 4. I didn't do breakfast there but it is across the street from coffee and many food options. 5. Parking is risky (notes to remove all items and that the hotel is not responsible for theft or damage are all over) and the lot has very small spaces. Average sized vehicles parked next to each other make it hard to open doors easily. 6. More than what we paid per night (group rate due to an event in town) would not have been ok with me. This was $100 a night hotel and not a penny more. I appreciate it for what it was for this trip but I would not choose it again. read more

"I'll carry your bags for you" offered the young lady working at the reception desk. I had asked her about the elevator not working, and she was very apologetic and even offered to carry my bags for me. Wow! First time at this facility, and it was a pretty decent experience. The breakfast buffet was very good, with the usual hot eggs, bacon, yogurt, oatmeal, and of course the requisite waffle maker. At 6 a.m. in the morning, there was only one other patron in the dining room. My room was clean, orderly, and fairly modern. The beds appear to be nearly new. The bathroom had a cheap feel to it. All the appliances and AC worked great. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi, and free newspapers in the lobby. The lobby is very bright and cheerful. There is a small business area with computer and printer as well. Whatever you do, do not give them your email address! I have now received three email spams from them, the last one after I explicitly unsubscribed. I booked my room through Travelocity, and did not have any special discount or deal. I thought the value was just okay. After checkout, I see that they had automatically added me to their email list for surveys. Of course, I unsubscribed, but I found this annoying. read more

After finding myself without power for more than 24 hours and my kind brother using his Marriott Bonvoy points we spent the night at this Fairfield Inn and Suites. We checked in late, about 10:30 pm and were helped by a very kind employee. On the way to the elevator I spotted a small but nice looking indoor pool and fitness room. I don't think it's open right now due to Covid but working out wasn't on my mind at the time anyway, lol. Our room was pretty basic but it was clean and WARM and the beds were very comfy. In the morning we had our choice of bacon and eggs, muffins and cereal. If I needed a place to stay in the Elk Grove/South Sac area again, I would not hesitate to use this place! P.S. Sorry, but I was waaaay too tired and stressed to take pics. Haha read more

Let's just say when we saw this sign in parking lot and broken car glass all over in the back we did not feel safe with leaving anything in the car. My family and I had to stay here for a week due to a repair going on in my apartment. What I most appreciated was how friendly all the staff was, from the front desk, to the kitchen staff, to housekeeping. The room and bathroom were clean. All staff was attentive and responsive the few times I needed something. Breakfast was okay, it could be better. Convenient location with lots of surrounding stores and restaurants. Some people may be concerned about the homeless nearby, but it didn't bother us. I never saw them close to or on the property. Overall, I was satisfied with our stay but there's definitely room for small improvements. I'd give it 3.5 stars. read more

I love Marriott properties, their rewards program is quite generous so I tend to stay at that chain. This property? Another reviewer called it the Marriott version of Motel 6 and I think they were too kind. Let's start off with the things I dislike: The rooms are extremely small, think jail cells. The elevator is the slowest one I have every used in a motel (and whatever the name is, this is a motel, not a hotel). It's noisy, you're right off the freeway - but only by proximity. You actually need to navigate your car through a maze to get in and out of the road that connects to the freeway and it's very congested in the morning, it can take ten minutes to cross your first street. The wifi is abysmally slow and it disconnects at regular intervals - this will frustrate you to the point of shutting it off and using your data. The furniture is dated, the TV doesn't fit in the media center, so they put the fridge in it. TV sits on top, a weird angle to watch unless you're standing up. None of these things occur at other Marriott Fairfields. It's just a terrible property, there are so many better 15 minutes away in Sacramento. Oh, what about the things I like about this property? Nothing comes to mind. I'll update it if ever something comes up. read more

We have stayed here twice when visiting my family that still reside in Elk Grove. Anyway over the phone we were quoted the Military rate so we booked our stay but upon checkout the rate was slightly so my wife inquired as to why. They stated that was the Military rate upon looking online we discovered it was the regular rate. We ask to speak with the manager whom had a disgusted look on her face refused to change the rate to the rate we were quoted. We've disputed this with our bank and with SPG Fairfield Inn and Suites parent company. Always check your receipt when staying here. read more

Me and my girlfriend decided to stay here since we were in town visiting for a Christmas party for my current employer. This is one of the nicer hotels we have stayed at. The area around this hotel is very nice, we saw little foxes running around on the street when exploring around the town. Not use to being charged for parking but I guess its good to experience it once in a lifetime. We spent a few minutes trying to get out of the parking lot because we thought we had to pay, but we figured out later that all we had to do was put our room card near the sensor and the arm raised so we could drive out. Our room was very nice and had a television in the living room and the room we slept in. The bathroom was big and had a tub that my girlfriend wanted to use with one of the bath bombs. We had a very nice view outside of the window as we could view an area that had a pool and spa as well as an area where people can get married. I did like the clock that was in the room because it was an iHome radio clock and I was able to just set my iPhone on it and charge it and play music. The coffee machine was probably decent but I didn't bother trying to figure it out because im use to using the Keurig machine that seems to be more common. Staff here seemed decent. Came from Bakersfield for the weekend and after checking in to doubletree by Hilton the room was disgustingly dirty! We bailed from there then we called here and they had a room available so we took it. This place was 100 times better and cleaner! They accommodate it us with a nice, clean suite and a rollaway bed right away! Staff was very friendly and professional! Definitely made our stay well worth it after the bad experience at doubletree in Sacramento! Breakfast and coffee was also very good! Very nice and relaxing stay overall! read more

It's been a while since I've stayed at this location and let me stay... it's the best FFI I've stayed at in a while. I've stayed at many before & during COVID in California, Arizona, Utah, Oregon, ect. Andrew was still there! They are always pleasure to see, very kind and helpful. This location still has a lot of small amenities for free that other FFI do not (shoe polish, tooth paste, 2 types of shampoo and conditioner, lotion ect). I peeked into the closet and they even have an extra blanket and pillow (I did not need or use). Many locations do not have those already placed in the room. You have to call the front desk to ask. Like any hotel and or resort if you travel you know, lock you car, take your keys, take your belongings. I appreciate the signs posted. It's extra reminder now that I have a toddler. Someone might think they are gonna score and it's just a diaper bag. My toddler son and I use the pool one night and we had so much fun together. Not that he would remember it, but I get to take photos, see his smiles, and hear his laughs. We made great memories and had an amazing stay. read more

Yes, stay here. My husband stays here often for business travel. We brought our family up for a quick overnight trip and we were pleased. It is an affordable hotel with breakfast included. The rooms are no-frills but they are exceptionally clean and the air conditioner works well. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast has a wide variety of items including a waffle iron that makes three mini waffles, hearty coffee and options for vegans and omnivores. There is an steakhouse located nearby. It's a little tricky to get to the hotel at night as the streets are dark. We didn't use the pool but it was well chlorinated. read more

Disappointed given the Marriott name. Traveling for work. Stayed for 5 nights, went back home for 2 nights, then came back for 5 more nights. I had two different rooms during this time. Staff were friendly. Both rooms were clean. No funky smells or stains. Several tv channels including HBO. Small fridge and microwave. WiFi too! Easy, electronic thermostat. Range of food at the continental breakfast. I was really excited about the indoor, heated swimming pool. The first day I went in it was soooo warm - it was great! Since then, the water has became colder and colder. The staff didn't seem to know why, some staff didn't even know it was supposed to be heated. The jets in the jacuzzi weren't working one day either. The television and phone in my second room were not working well. Staff looked at it a few days after I informed them and they wrote if off to a "power outage" but the problems persisted. Seems like a decent place to stay for sleep and not much more than that. In the second room that I was in, the label on the shower was backward - hot was cold and cold was hot. The phone wasn't working either. The staff told me it would be changed out but wasn't ever fixed. read more

The entertainment center does not fit the room.. the TVs are small. They don't even leave water in the room for guest.. for $184.00 a night they should at least provide water. Also they don't disinfect remotest etc.. with the health scare now that should be a no brained.. the owner puts no love into the hotel..last thing.. the comforters are so thin they don't provide any warmth. read more

If you're traveling and your means of income depend on internet connectivity, do not stay here. Clean, decent reasonably priced pet-friendly hotel. Starting around $89/night for guest rooms & $149/night for suites. Pet free is $35/night per dog. Free wi-fi. Easy parking. Guestrooms had two queen beds, fridge, your normal works. When I booked the executive suite, I asked if the living room was separated from the bedroom in which the lady answered yes. To my surprise when checking in, no. Only semi separated by a half wall. King sized bed was nice. Sofa in living room pulled out to a full sized bed. Microwave, fridge. The front desk said they had very limited rooms that were actually separated by a door.. and they are more pricey. So.. I have no idea what kind of room that is called, maybe presidential suite!? :/ You would think that being a pet-friendly hotel they would provide doggy bags for waste around the property. But again, no. Only signs to remind you to pick it up. So don't forget to bring bags! And the closest grass area is across the parking lot at Tire-O. Continental breakfast is served 6 - 10 am. Waffles, cereals, varieties of bread, yogurt, fruit cups, microwavable Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, juices, coffee, eggs, sausage. Make sure you go before 10 am though because they really do clean up exactly on the dot. She drains out the juice and all. Never got to use the pool, spa or gym. Never seemed crowded though. I like how Sam's club is across the street for an easy fill 'er up. Great deal considering the price they charge. Will be my go-to hotel next time I'm in the area. read more

As a Marriott Platinum member, I've stayed in over 80 distinct Marriott properties within the past year. With over 90 nights this year alone, I see a wide range of Marriott properties. THIS IS THE WORST MARRIOTT PROPERTY I HAVE EVER STAYED AT. My advice is to avoid this property at all cost. The general manager (Pratik Patel) refused my requests to call me back, was absolutely inflexible, would not work with or honor the Platinum Customer Service line requests that were sent to him, and cared ONLY about collecting money for the stay. Another woman, Hung Luu, was the most obnoxiously rude and disrespectful person I have ever encountered in my years of patronage at Marriott hotels. 10/27/2014: I called the Platinum Reservation Line at Marriott from my car. I needed to cancel my reservation at the Elk Grove Fairmont property. I requested that the two nights reserved at that hotel (10/27; 10/28/2014) be cancelled, and that they rebook me at a hotel in Tracy, CA for the night of the 27th. As always, the online folks offered to provide a cancellation #, but I was driving and asked that it be emailed to me. I checked in at the Tracy Marriott Courtyard that night and take full ownership for not checking to see if the room at the Elk Grove Fairmont had been cancelled as the phone agent had promised. It had not. 11/8/2014: I noticed a charge for $150+ for a one-night stay at the Elk Grove Marriott. I called the hotel to let them know that there had been a communication error with the online reservation service and that I had, in fact, cancelled my reservation on the previous day. At this time, Ms. Luu told me that, because I could not provide a cancellation #, I would be billed for the room. Period. No flexibility. Then she had the gaul to suggest that I should be "ashamed of myself" for complaining when they were fully booked that night and my "selfishness" resulted in people being turned away. Seriously?!?! More disappointing, I felt I was calm, kind, and tried to thoughtfully convey the issue to Ms. Luu. She said she would discuss my request for a room refund with the manager and send me an email that day. 11/9/2014: The email arrived stating that, because I did not have a cancellation number, per Marriott policy, I would be billed for the room. I called back and, despite my initial attempts to be nice and explain the situation again, was treated disrespectfully by Ms. Luu. I requested the name of the general manager (which she said she was not comfortable in providing me) and a call from the general manager (which I never received). I phoned the hotel again later that day and left a second message for the manager to call me. He never called. 11/13/2014: I called the Marriott Platinum customer service center to discuss the situation with them. I spoke with a very nice gentleman who said he would "elevate the situation," and send an email to the hotel manager requesting that the charges be removed from my card. I asked what I should do if I receive another email denying my request. He said, "That would be unlikely, but if that occurs we can request to elevate the issue with my manager." 11/15/2014: Pratik Patel send an email again declining my request. He never did take the time to call and speak with me. He was absolutely inflexible and refused to work with the Marriott phone center folks to get to the bottom of the issue. It was simply a NO. And no calls, no follow up, no options for resolution. I called the Platinum customer service line again and was told that, if the general manager of a property refused to cooperate, there was nothing more they could do. Pay the bill and move on. We can't help anymore. They suggested I call another toll free number to speak with someone in the corporate offices in Utah. Looking at other reviews, it seems I'm not the first to have issues with the management at this property. "Horrible place..." "...customer service is horrible" "...never will I go here again."
