While I've not shopped in any of the little stores between Dollar Tree and Chinese Restaurant (mentioned momentarily), I've visited the Dollar Tree and Stop and Shop locations on occasion, but here and there I stop in at the Chinese restaurant (almost right next to the S&S). The Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union bank location nearby is also addressed to this mall, although it is unattached and easiest to get to via Kessler Dr just to this malls' north, across from Farm Ln across US-9/Albany Post Rd.) However, although I've been to the drive-up, it's not an everyday occurrence that I use it now. Careful of the Dunkin Donuts and small strip mall, it's addressed to this mall in spots, but it has not the same branding as it was redone not too very long ago, and I've stepped in there more often than most of the others. I rarely see anyone who tends to manage this mall, but the parking lot isn't problematic often. People come and people go over time, and there's little in terms of trash in the parking lot, but what about all the stop&shop and confusing lanes within the parking lot there that makes many (including myself and my brother) turn in circles trying to find the quickest ways out from a given point while avoiding the median. With the traffic light at the corner now, and the traffic flow from the former Shop & Save/Hannaford/ShopRite non-existent across the street, and the cross-traffic from St Andrew Rd and even the tiny mall and Dunkin Donuts in what seems like another area of the parking lot, things seem to flow really well now...Just hope that pattern isn't going to change as soon as this review is seen.

The entrance/exit is located on Route 9 SB, and at the stoplight just south. Turn in the driveway while exiting to the right. The parking lot is small, allowing enough space to move around. Take caution of your surroundings. Many businesses have come and gone, including Bugaboo Creek Steak House (my favorite back in the day) and a CD store, Strawberries, that was there for a long time. Oh, the memories shall be cherished. On the bright side, this plaza is filled with many stores, some of which have been there for a long time.

The most recent closures have been Kmart, Burlington, and Silver Cinemas (which all had a long run for many years) along with smaller space stores at the new strip mall. There have been some opening of stores in series, but I do know for a fact that some spaces haven't even opened up yet since The Shoppes at South Hills existed. The costs are probably really high, making it challenging for these businesses to open. I believe the location off Route 9 doesn't have the best visibility since it's up on a hill to make it a success. There are not that many stores to offer, but with enough open now, it can still be the potential to last for many years, just in a slow process. The opening of At Home Furniture Decor is set to open soon in the former Kmart space. It's fairly significant, offering plenty of parking and room to move around. The parking lot has two rows, one closest to the main building and the other behind (to the right of) it. Many businesses exist, including Pizza Express, Landmark Grill, China Wok, Mid Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, and among others. Right now, its best options are food and drink, as it includes Hung Far Chinese food, and the extra-special Lady K's Southern Comfort. There's plenty of parking, and during rush hours, don't forget about the "secret batcave exit" behind the 9G Grill onto Haviland Road, to avoid 9G traffic.

Its seen its share of troubles - its lost lots of good businesses such as Borders, Caldor, and BabysRUs (all went bankrupt) but what made it more nerve-racking was the parking lot quality which has degraded over time and not been replaced. Though there were no weeds, you could tell from the cement ruts near Aldi that there needs to be a fix so motorized carts travel better and once you back into them you wont feel stuck - like I had gotten several times yesterday. Instead, you get more local businesses with a smattering of big-names such as the Buffalo Wold Wings at the southern end of the parking lot, and a Kohls (which Ive yet to visit here), but not too much else in big names. But when all is said and done, prices can be mediocre and depend on the place you visit.
