If Yelp had the option of rating a review in decimals, it would be appropriate in this case…read more A major renovation took place a couple of years back, most importantly with the move of TJMaxx and HomeGoods that demolished part of the hallway. A bit of it still remains from Marshalls until Des Jewelers. There are some stores that are still open that have been there for many years but don't seem to be as busy compared to back then. Also, some stores and restaurants have made changes throughout time, and seem to be successful. A big issue is the parking lot and moving around, not too pleasant, especially on the weekends. Usually, there isn't enough room to move because of traffic and people crossing the street and lot. I find it time-consuming and can be a hassle especially if someone is an inexperienced driver. Pavement can also be improved in most areas as well. Good businesses to check out, but take caution in the parking lot. 2.6/5

Wow. http://www.poughkeepsieplaza.com This is the mall your mom dragged you to. . . when she wanted to torture you! With exciting stores like " Jo-Ann Fabrics" "Sew N' Vac" and who can resist "EmbroidMe" you can see why it's such a "Destination"! Full of moms and barely conscious children. If Hollywood ever needs to set a film in the early 80's, this is the place. No need to hire extras, local shoppers will do. (I still see people wearing t-shirts from "Bob's" stores around town, how long ago did they go out of business?!") There is a nice Marshall's at one end and "The Dragon's Den" to care for all your fantasy figurine needs. Great people watching at this mini mall meets time travel. The next time you need to pick up some new vacuum bags, put on your big hair, parachute pants and head down to the Plaza!

Although I still don't come into this mall every day, every so often I do come in. It's still got…read moreits entrances outside, but now it's got a lot more choices I tend to use, so now I do tend to visit maybe once a month (although I've missed the last month and a half). While I've not shopped in any of the little stores between Dollar Tree and Chinese Restaurant (mentioned momentarily), I've visited the Dollar Tree and Stop and Shop locations on occasion, but here and there I stop in at the Chinese restaurant (almost right next to the S&S). The Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union bank location nearby is also addressed to this mall, although it is unattached and easiest to get to via Kessler Dr just to this malls' north, across from Farm Ln across US-9/Albany Post Rd.) However, although I've been to the drive-up, it's not an everyday occurrence that I use it now. Careful of the Dunkin Donuts and small strip mall, it's addressed to this mall in spots, but it has not the same branding as it was redone not too very long ago, and I've stepped in there more often than most of the others. I rarely see anyone who tends to manage this mall, but the parking lot isn't problematic often. People come and people go over time, and there's little in terms of trash in the parking lot, but what about all the stop&shop and confusing lanes within the parking lot there that makes many (including myself and my brother) turn in circles trying to find the quickest ways out from a given point while avoiding the median. With the traffic light at the corner now, and the traffic flow from the former Shop & Save/Hannaford/ShopRite non-existent across the street, and the cross-traffic from St Andrew Rd and even the tiny mall and Dunkin Donuts in what seems like another area of the parking lot, things seem to flow really well now...Just hope that pattern isn't going to change as soon as this review is seen.

Ever since 2009, the name has changed to The Shoppes at South Hills and some of the stores you'll…read morefind are from the South Hills Mall. The most recent closures have been Kmart, Burlington, and Silver Cinemas (which all had a long run for many years) along with smaller space stores at the new strip mall. There have been some opening of stores in series, but I do know for a fact that some spaces haven't even opened up yet since The Shoppes at South Hills existed. The costs are probably really high, making it challenging for these businesses to open. I believe the location off Route 9 doesn't have the best visibility since it's up on a hill to make it a success. There are not that many stores to offer, but with enough open now, it can still be the potential to last for many years, just in a slow process. The opening of At Home Furniture Decor is set to open soon in the former Kmart space. There are approximately 45 stores and restaurants; there were plenty of parking and even a playground. I find myself here quite often so I figured I'd give it an update. It's a beautifully maintained shopping plaza that reminds me of Garden City in Cranston, RI. On a beautiful day, it's a great place to walk around. They also hosts special events throughout the year. I enjoy dining at Mercato, 110 Grill, Flatbread Pizza, Panera Bread, and Jefferson Fry Company. My kids love Barnes and Noble and Walter's Boundless Playground. If you need to do your grocery shopping, there is a Shop Rite. There are plenty of shopping that can be done at Kohl's, Old Navy, Dick's Sporting Goods and more. There is a new candy shop called The Nutmeg Sweet Shoppe. If you want to attend a cooking class, book a spot at Sur La Table. There are a variety of businesses and many more businesses are being added. It's located on Route 44 and going in and out of the place can be chaotic sometimes, but there are traffic lights. Overall, it's a great place to shop and dine.

Once you pull in, there's an immediate four way stop sign intersection that can require the most patience of all, because taking turns is an unknown concept to some people. But once you're in, there's a good distribution of restaurants to stores. Shop Rite, Panera Bread, Barnes and Noble, Ben & Jerry's, Kohls, Chipotle, the Paper Store.... A lot of these places have been around for years. When a shop does go out, a new one comes in pretty quickly. There is a lot of parking available, although some is further than others. Kohl's has a large lot to itself entering on the second floor. The holidays can get chaotic in all parking areas, so if you must join the fray be kind.

During the holidays it is beautifully lit up. Depending on the store and their sakes, you could get great deals. I can't wait for The Gap Factory to come here! The stores also do a nice trick or treating event for the kids so it's a safe community for the children.
