This restaurant really needs a new chef. The view is beautiful and the service was friendly, but unfortunately the food quality was far below expectations. I ordered a chicken burger, and it was honestly worse than a fast-food burger. The bun wasn't toasted, the chicken was dry and tough, and the sweet potato fries were overcooked. We walked here from Ocean Tower (that was a lot of walking with my parents who have some mobility issues) only to find out it was closed because of the rain. Then we did come the next day for lunch and it was open. It was pretty average. The best part was my son's hot dog. Fish and chips were fine, but somewhat bland. The tartar sauce, however, was pretty good. The take-away stand that offers Dole Whips was the best part of this experience. It is kind of separate from the restaurant, but connected to it. Right next to the Dolphin Quest. Lovely location. Been coming here since 2019 and love the poke nachos. Sadly the prices (as everywhere) have gone up and the portions have gone way down. In 2019 the poke nachos were 3 times the size they are now. Other down side we came at 4:30 pm they close at 5pm, so I think what we got was old. The poke was no longer a dark pink color but almost a brownish color. The guys got the bowl and $27 for 2 cups of rice and 5 pieces of ahi. We came here during our day spent at the Hilton using our Resort Pass. We stopped by for lunch around 1:30 pm and were able to easily put in our order and pay for it at the bar. The menu selection is pretty extensive and offers a lot for a lot of people. We ended up ordering a plain kids burger, the fish and chips and the ahi tuna burger. For the three items it came to over $80 which feels like highway robbery. Despite the price, our food came out fresh and fast in less than 10 minutes and all of it was quite tasty. The fried fish was delicious and the ahi tuna were were not expecting to be flaked tuna into a patty but it was so good with the sauce, avocado and slaw. The fries were tasty and the burger was good and a good size. It was nice being able to sit and enjoy our food while watching the dolphins swim and play. Ahi Tuna Sandwich was disappointing as it was more of a patty with fillers instead of a fillet. Loco moco came with a single egg, whereas most other places will give you two. Fish and chip was pretty good. They used to serve in the upper area, but now service is limited to the lower and back decks. The entire time we enjoyed drinks and bites, we watched the Dolphins swimming, jumping and performing fun Dolphin tricks. The kids absolutely loved this lunch outing. What a cool if not unintended experience. This open air restaurant is a great experience. Not only great lunch menu but being surrounded by the lagoons with water activities and then the lagoon encapsulating the Dolphins. Definitely the best place to eat at the Hilton Waikoloa. Prices are only "normal" expensive resort food, and not obscenely crazy expensive resort food! Sadly they are only open for lunch. But they are very speedy and the food is good! We have eaten here in the past and the view and ambience are nice. But this time we have been ordering takeout to take back to our balconies. Speedy, "reasonable" (again, by resort standards) and with lots of choices. My favorite has been the beyond burger. They have other meat, Poké, and vegetarian choices. As a part of the Waikoloa village, this place is one of the few choices available to Hilton's guests for lunch. Similar to other places in the village, it is very overpriced. They give you 4-5 crummy pieces of cut up carrot/celery/cucumber (total, not each) and a packet of shelf stable packaged ranch. Homemade ranch is so cheap to make, come on. I'm not one to go to poolside bars and restaurants as the food is overpriced and average. However, Lagoon Grill was definitely worth every penny spent and super tasty. I went here with a friend and can say we finished our plates and left with a full stomach. The portions are generous and the staff are friendly. The only downside is that the food is a little pricey but you have to think it's at a hotel. I'm still impressed at how good the food was and will definitely be back if I'm at the Hilton. read more

Sure it's cool that there's dolphins but it's also sad and depressing to see that many dolphins stuck in that tiny "lagoon" waiting to work their next shift. After finishing our Dolphin encounter in the nearby lagoon (for which I'm sure this restaurant is named), we were famished, and not in the mood to shop around. We were immediately seated at a table overlooking our newfound dolphin friends, and ordered between us the Lagoon Burger, the tuna melt (dolphin-free, I hope! Hahaha!), and a couple of drinks. The portions were absolutely massive, thankfully, considering the rather basic burger runs $25, and the tuna melt $19. Both were excellent tasting and high quality, if not particularly awe-inspiring. They did the job well, that's for sure. However, they appeared tableside in an absolutely absurd three minutes after ordering, each hot and fresh. I'm not sure how they did it, but they earned an extra star just for that! I'm not sure I'd eat here again on purpose, just based on the price. The food was good, but not enough to warrant the sticker shock. Still, we left happy and content, although I'm sure some of that was the residual glow from having spent an afternoon with a pod of dolphins. Came here after swallowing a quart of seawater while snorkeling in the next door Lagoon. Lagoon Grill was one of only two restaurants open in the vast Hilton Waikoloa Village. Limited menu during the pandemic, all outdoor seating, tables 6 feet apart. Friendly staff, prompt service, metal utensils, cloth napkins, solid dishware not made of paper nor cheap plastic, something you don't see at most hamburger joints. I ordered the $21 Korean burger, and the wife got the $16 Lagoon salad. Pricey but not unusual for a high end Timeshare/hotel resort in Hawaii. Both of us ordered free water. At least one restaurant we went to before, charged for water. Wife wasted no time eating the generous portion of curl fries that came with the burger, supplemented with ketchup packets. Preferred curly fries, but they didn't offer them. 8 ounce angus beef tasted good, as it should have, as the last burger I had was in September. The mild aioli sauce on the burger tasted a bit like thousand island dressing. Would have preferred lots of raw sliced onions, instead of the tiny amount of pickled onions . Lettuce and tomato tasteless. Brioche bun not as sweet as I would have liked. Wife' salad came with mixed greens, beets, avocado, cucumber, tomato, carrot, garbanzo beans, fried chicken bites, papaya seed dressing. Generous amount of chicken bites, and the dressing was an extremely mild vinaigrette dressing. I ended up finishing the last quarter of her very large salad. Most of the rooms in the Hilton Waikoloa Village are hotel rooms with no microwaves. So no use saving cooked leftovers. Got to eat it on the spot. Includes take out from restaurants. Got leftover fish? Toss it overboard, as the captive dolphins will eat any fish you don't like. read more

The menu has an assortment of choices from burgers, salads, and even some local favorites . Today I went with the Kalbi Bowl and my wife got the Lagoon Burger. We also tried a mango smoothie and tried the coconut shrimp appetizer. Kalbi Bowl: Tender and flavorful. Comes with 2 scoops of rice, Mac salad, mixed slaw and 2 pieces of short rib Kalbi. If you aren't in the mood for a burger or sandwhich go with this cuz it was ono! Burger: Pattie was cooked exactly how my wife wanted and when that's fine Ofc the burger is good! Coconut Shrimp: although a smaller portion than desired.. the shrimp was crispy and cooked nicely. Pairs well with the sweet Chilli sauce they give with it! Mango Smoothie: creamy. Reminded me more of a shake and more vanilla than mango. Service: Fast and Prompt. Waters always filled and the food came out quick! Couldn't have asked for more. Went here for lunch a few times as easy place to eat. They were only open a few hours each day, so it was never a breakfast or dinner. Tried a couple of times for a medium cooked hamburger, but it was always well done. The staff were always friendly. It was a nice view of the lagoon. Super over-priced, but not surprising at a resort in Hawaii. Server made it seem like they don't grant many, if any, special requests. I got the chicken katsu sandwich with curly fries. Tried to do 50/50 with normal fries, but got rejected. Meal was great and filling. Wife got poke bowl. I got to try some of that as well and also enjoyed that. Got some of their signature drinks and was also rejected for a slight change request there, too. The Lagoon Grill is a solid option for lunch at the Hilton Waikoloa. The menu is very small, but they have some nice starters like coconut shrimp and summer rolls, and they have poke bowls, veggie burgers, and fish tacos. They make a great Lava Flow! It's a little pricey, but they offer counter service that you can carry to the beach chairs in the lagoon. Came here for some food today. SERVICE - We sat down a at a table to start because it said to find a table and a server would be with you. I made eye contact with three of them. The last one slowly walked up the little stairs and gave me the side eye. They were all congregated at their register and was not doing anything so that was terrible. We went up to the bar to order and there were two bartenders. It took about 5min for one to acknowledge us even though there were no other guests and he was not doing anything. He was facing our direction though so it was not like he did not know we were there. FOOD Wings - Poorly coated and salty. Short Ribs Bowl - The portion was decent on this, though it was $26 for something you can get elsewhere that would cost maybe half the price. The meat was overly salty. Tropical Fruit Salad - This measly bowl of fruit was all of the cheap fruits that you find in those plastic containers at the grocery store. It was also supposed to have lilikoi syrup but they said they don't do syrup anymore. They charged $15! Overall, I wish I listened to other reviews when they said food wasn't that great. read more
