By far the worse inspection company. Steve has no sense of integrity or ownership on his lack of…read moredetail. No sense of pride in his work due to his incompetence. He is not a thorough with his inspection. All kinds of things he missed with his inspection. The biggest thing he missed is that the tank that was installed outside is an inside tank. There's a label that clearly states it's an inside tank. Turns out that it is all kinds of violations. His recommendation was to repaint the tank. It took over a month a half to get anyone from his office to call back. I filled a claim with his insurance company and they are equally unprofessional and incompetent. They have a disclaimer that their inspection is only valid for a year. True, if someone else wants to buy the property, it's been "inspected" within a year. They are full of excuses and apologizes. That is used as a cop out excuse and they say some bs how it's my responsibility to ensure things are done correctly. I'm not an inspector so why is it my responsibility to ensure the inspection company does their job. Their insurance company offered me a refund for how much they charged to do their garbage inspection. They then offered me not even 20% of the cost to fix his incompetency. They also say that I have delete or remove all negative reviews so they only show positive reviews. I did not accept such bs offer and let them keep scamming other people. Do not recommend Pilar to post to anyone. Please stay away from them As a result, I need to replace the tank to an outside tank. It has to be moved further away from the door and a concrete slab needs to be put down. No oil company will do the job unless I am a customer. My oil company is charging me $5,800 to fix it. Pilar to post insurance company offered $1,150. Not even half of the cost and they want all negative comments removed. It makes sense that the 5 star reviews are 5, 3 years old. Clearly they are not a consistent 5 star rating. I refuse to be bribed with their low ball offer. As if they're doing me a favor to pay for their incompetence. No thank you.

I am very disappointed with this company. I feel I was taken advantage of in a scary situation…read more I was charged over $1300 to have my house inspected for mold by Gordon Mycology. They came in and only checked the three areas where I suspected mold. Three swab test were taken and that was it. Nothing else was inspected nor any air samples or surface test were performed. Even the allergy doctor who recommended this company was very disappointed to hear how the inspection went and agreed I was way over charged for what they did. Do your home work and don't go with the first recommendation. I found a company who came in and inspected the house from attic to basement for $400. Big difference

Dealing with a potential mold issue can be incredibly stressful. The only ray of light in this…read moreotherwise miserable experience has been working with Deb Gordon of Gordon Mycology. She is a microbiologist and incrediby knowledgable, as well as caring and responsive to client concerns. She went above and beyond to provide us withe information we needed to remediate our mold problem and personal belongings and help connect us to service providers that could do the work well. There are unfortunately a lot of businesss that are operating in mold remediation that do sub-par work, as we learned through this process, and so you want to be really careful who you hire to inspect and do testing, as well as who you hire to do mold remediation. While she can provide recommendations of good mold remediation companies who do good work, she is not tied to a specific remediation company, so she can provide independent unbiased results, as she does not personally gain anything based on her recommendations. If you think you have a mold problem and need someone to inspect, you won't go wrong if you hire Deb Gordon. She is first and foremost a scientist, but also a pleasure to work with. She will give you guidance so that you can proceed cautiously, while also taking real world concerns into account so that you have a realistic plan.

My smoke/carbon monoxide detector is in the hallway so I have no idea if there was any dangerous levels of carbon monoxide there or in my 4 year old daughter's room directly above. Can you imaging what I'm feeling right now!?! Pillar to Post missed this missing cap during my home inspection. I have already complained to them regarding several big issues I had within weeks of the inspection. I was angry but Nelson responded cordially and told me that everything was done according to standard. I let it go then. I don't think not identifying this hazard is a standard miss. I feel I have to let people know not to feel like everything is ok after being inspected by Pillar to Post.

BEWARE THE PROBLEMS YOU'LL FIND LATER!…read more The customer service and ability to schedule (and reschedule in the setting of power outages) was excellent, and our inspector went over everything with us at the end which was really appreciated because it is our first house and we were truly ignorant to the whole process. The less than ideal review comes AFTER we have moved into our home. Our first week, we were barely moved in and had mice. We found so many points of entry to be patched that were never identified during inspection and when we reached out with or disappointment after the fact, we were told that since the basement is finished and the homeowners were still living there it limited inspection. We were able to resolve the issue fairly quickly and move on, but since then I've found further reason to give less than 5 stars. We bought the house knowing the front stairs needed work but our inspector only verbalized to us that it needed "patch work" from a mason. Given numerous close calls with tripping and falling, we had started reaching out to masons for price quotes and we have been told by every single person that has come out (5 professionals now) that the stairs are not up to code and will need extensive work- getting quotes between $10-15,000. I am fully aware that masonry is expensive but this is requiring a total tear down and rebuild- something that could have very likely played into negotiations prior to closing. The fact that that the stairs are not even up to code should have been picked up on at inspection- we are now new, young homeowners with an impending significant cost that for the sake of safety needs to be repaired quickly and it has added a new burden of stress to an already hectic time in our lives. For these reasons, I would not recommend using Pillar to Post to my family and friends and have learned my lesson on which questions to ask for future inspections!
