We also told him we would take the $10,000 of insurance for $100...a no brainer as I said to him. The movers called him the day of the move, and he stuck cardboard between the glass. They moved it without disassembling it and damaged it. I filed a claim only to be told I did not have insurance. Turned out I did not realize it was not included in my quote...yes, my fault but the salesman apparently did not own up to his error. They should have disassembled the table as agreed. Had they taken time to look at it, they would have found that it was easy to do so. The table was worth well over $2,000. The offered me $120 and agreed to come up to $200. Not good business and I do not recommend them!

We originally booked Leaders to move furniture only. The day before our scheduled move, John, the…read moreOperations Manager, called to confirm everything for the following day. During that conversation, I asked what it would cost to add approximately 70 boxes to the move. John told me the cost would be "anywhere from $2 to $5 per box, depending on how big each box is." I told him I would discuss it with my husband and get back to him. Less than an hour later, I called back and spoke with Kevin, the General Manager, to let him know that we wanted to add the boxes. Kevin gave me a price that was above the $5-per-box range John had just quoted, with no consideration for the size of the boxes. I explained to Kevin exactly what John had told me only moments earlier. Instead of acknowledging the discrepancy or trying to find a reasonable solution, Kevin repeatedly told me that "the system doesn't quote like that," that John must have been giving me an average, or that perhaps I had misunderstood John. That was extremely frustrating. I was simply trying to resolve a pricing discrepancy between two people within the same company. Rather than taking ownership of the situation and working with me to find a reasonable solution, I felt as though the responsibility was being placed on me. At that point, I told Kevin that I was so frustrated with the sudden change in pricing and the way the situation was being handled that I wanted to cancel the entire move. Kevin did not attempt to resolve the issue or retain our business--he immediately took us off the schedule. Fortunately, we had enough flexibility with our move to take our business elsewhere. But I was genuinely surprised that a General Manager would handle a customer situation this way, particularly the day before a scheduled move. For a company with such high ratings, I expected much better customer service, communication, and transparency. My experience left me feeling that Leaders was not "leading" in those areas. I also have to question the company's "no hidden fees" claim based on this experience. From my perspective, the price changed after we had already committed to the company, and when I questioned the discrepancy, I did not feel that my concerns were taken seriously. This review is based solely on my personal experience, but I would strongly recommend getting every price and every potential additional charge in writing before committing to a move with this company.
