Wonderful staff provided personal attention. There is a good selection of quality dresses for all the roles of the wedding party.

Everyone is super helpful, smiles and greets you with a smile and a hello. They have national brands and local stuff too like local raw honey, Coca Cola products and Moxie a local Maine soda. Upstairs there is a gun store, fishing tackle, Men's and womenswear including wedding dresses and downstairs there are guns and, tools, hardware supplies (we got a drill bit to drill into concrete) and everything else. There is parking in front of the store but if the lot is full there is more space across the street. I think this is the only store.within 20 miles but the prices seem decent and not your typical up charges for convince. There is a customer service department that handles lotto winners and licenses. Truly one of the nicest people ever works there. The wine selection was not great but wines snobs can't always get what they want. The butcher shop was solid. Super nice guys there with big smiles and hellos. Just courteous people there from the staff to the shoppers. I like this store! Oh and I got a homemade blueberry pie!

So I went here for my very first wedding dress experience. I would never recommend this place to…read moreanyone. I walked in and they had suits laying all over the dirty floor. I don't care if you are spraying them for dry cleaning or just hitting them with fabreeze before hanging them back up again, it was gross and no one should have to step over clothes on the floor to go try on dresses. The girl I had was nice enough but very new so I heard more about her wedding then I told her about mine. Next the heat in there was outrageous! They wouldn't turn it down and couldn't offer a fan due to no plugs.... Anywhere. It's fun trying on dresses while sweating. . Also what's this no water while in a dress and you have to drink it in the front lobby? ITS WATER!! And half the dresses and stained and ripped anyway. My friends were the biggest help fluffing the dress and doing all the things I thought the employee was supposed to do. After I tried on all my dresses I wanted to go thru a few of my faves and even a few I didn't like because one of my bridesmaids showed up late. The girl told me she put them back because she didn't like them on me.... Not her decision it's mine, give me the dress. The only good thing here is the selection. Tons of dresses. I'd recommend Lady Js in Hollowell! AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! The whole 9 yards. Fan, nipple covers, sweat shields, wipes, deodorant, perfume, lotion, and a mimosa that you can drink in the dress and have it with you in the dressing room! You wanna feel like a princess? Talk to Lady J!

After having such an amazing initial visit at Henry's, I feel like an update is needed now that the…read moredust has settled on the wedding. I had my dress altered with Lai, their in-house alterations person. Though Lai is clearly very knowledgable and talented, she had a large task having to take in my dress that was initially 1-2 sizes too large and then had to be taken in even more after I lost 30 lbs. During the first fitting, we had the dress pinned and discussed our options. As I mentioned, I live in Boston so getting a fitting done takes me 8 hours of travel time round trip. Our second fitting came a month before the wedding and i thought would be the last fitting thanks to a busy schedule heading in to the last month. Unfortunately there were a few issues that still needed to be resolved so Lai asked me to come back a third time. Given the timing, there was just no way to do that so I had my mother pick up the dress and bring it down the weekend of my shower, two weeks before the wedding. When I tried it on the third time I realized not only was the top so tight I could not take in a full breath, but one of the front seams had been cut crooked. The dress was satin and paneled, so there was no way for this to be fixed. A gap in the attached belt was also left hanging and only one hook held the too-stressed zipper together, which made the buttons running down the back flap open instead of laying flat. Given the fact that the dress had to be taken in 6 inches, I had no idea how it had gotten to be so tight across my chest and ribs. It was a disappointment to say the least, and I ended up having to take it to my local tailor to have hooks added to the top and front of the zipper so the buttons would lay flat in the back and the dress wouldn't burst open with how stressed the zipper was. While I admit that some of these issues could have been resolved with a third fitting (and that is totally my fault I couldn't swing it) the tightness and cooked seam could not have been fixed. My mom ended up writing a letter to Henry's to let them know that perhaps Lai is a little busy and the response was to ask me to come in the weekend of my wedding for them to fix it. Why even bother responding at all? No one in their right mind would ask someone to travel another 4 hours for a repair the weekend of their wedding, so I was a little disappointed in the response in general. Overall, a great place to get a dress, but after dropping that kind of money on a dress, perhaps paying $350 for alterations which ultimately made me hate a dress I loved is not worth it and brides should go else-where.

I wish I could give this place the lowest rating possible. Holy shit. The FEW things me and my…read morefriend actually liked were for some reason not available for purchase. It was very tight and cluttered. It made me feel claustrophobic. It was hard to breathe and see, all of my sense were being used for all the wrong reasons. She starts off by telling you how good you would look in a piece and then once she says the price your face turns cold. She makes you think you're getting it for a good deal, you're not. The "dressing rooms" were just toilet stalls and they were not clean. Again, it was a very tight space and very overwhelming. She keeps giving you piles of clothes to try on, none of which is actually your style, but she keeps giving them anyways. She offered my friend, who is black, an African style muumuu and told her it was EXACTLY her style. Mind you, my friend is very grungy and isn't necessarily into that style whatsoever. It felt like a micro aggression and was very weird in our opinion. She also told my friend that I looked like I couldn't afford a designer dress, classist. At the end of the day, after trying basically everything in the store on, I decided to purchase a single garment, a shirt supposedly from the 90s. I tell her I want the shirt and that we didnt want to buy anything else and she starts lecturing us about how she has better things to do than put up with our mockery, we never mocked her. She thought the fact that we are giggly teenage girls meant we were bullying her in the stall, that obviously wasnt the case. She then says to me "Are you gonna buy the shirt or what" to which I say yes. We were very confused by all the hostility all of a sudden. We went to check out and she went on another tangent about how she has better things to do and we shouldnt waste her time trying things on, taking pictures, and making fun of this place. We didnt do anything of the sort. She was extremely rude, hostile, and pushy. I hated my experience here and will never be showing up again in the future.
