I went to Goldworks in January for a few LR 41 lithium batteries. I was charged 10 dollars for each one. The following day I did online searching and found I had been majorly ripped off. One can purchase two or three of these for less than $6.00 in many places. So, I unwittingly paid $30.00 for a product that should have been less than $10. I will never recommend this place in Auburn to anyone. I certainly would not recommend that anyone purchase jewelry, a watch, or deal with their gold there. Bill V. read more

Back again to sing the praise of my favorite ladies over at Goldworks! It wasn't before long that visiting the store started to feel more like a visit with friends. Anytime I'm in the area, (I live about 25 minutes away) I stop into the store to check out the inventory, have my ring cleaned, and chat. I never leave without feeling as though my day was better for stopping in. My favorite necklace is a custom piece from Goldworks! A small, thin white-gold chain with a white-gold disc that includes my daughter's initial. This year my husband got me a second gold disc with my son's initial. Ashley and Kelsey are truly exceptional at their craft and I absolutely love that it is a one of a kind piece. If we are ever unsure of what we may be looking for, Sarah, Ally, or Mandy always point us in the right direction. Any time I visit the store, they clean my wedding and engagement ring for me and even provide coloring books and crayons to keep my 3 year old entertained while I look around! I wear jewelry that was either crafted/purchased or repaired at gold works every day and it stands the test of time! Was so happy to stumble on Goldworks! I put off getting my engagement ring resized not knowing where to get it done. After a bit of research I found Goldworks. Super convenient location and quick service. I paid $10 extra to have them resize same day! All work is done in house so no waiting for your jewelry to be shipped and worked on elsewhere. This business should be closed, the customer service and jewelry repairs are all horrible. I wanted them to size a ring, they charged top dollar for the "repairs" I picked the ring up 2 weeks later to discover that they never did any of the repair that I was charged for, then when I questioned the service, I was yelled at and told to never come back. they then threw my ring at me and said they would call the cops on ME for trying to RIP THEM OFF! Luckily I paid with a credit card and was able to reverse the charges. I would NOT recommend this jewelry store. I had another jeweler do the ring size repair and they checked my diamond to make certain they had not switched the diamond. I ONLY go to the Jeweler that originally made the ring in another state, rather drive the 6 hours than take a chance of being ripped off by nasty people. read more

I have gone to Goldworks for the past five years for my anniversary jewelry. I had been very satisfied with them up til now. I had an oval tanzanite that my mom gave me years ago that I wanted to have set for my 15th wedding anniversary. Everything went well with picking out my setting, making sure the stone would fit, etc. I was very happy with the finished product. The source of my dissatisfaction came when I would try to come in to pay/pick up my ring. I live over 20 miles away and I am not in Auburn very often. One Saturday I drove in to pay on my ring and they were shut down for an employee wedding. That is understandable. I don't fault them for that at all. I do fault them when I came in on another Saturday after checking their hours online. I arrived at 5 minutes past 3 to find one of the girls standing at the door. She informed me that they were closed. When I told her that their hours said that they are open til 5 online, she said that in the summer they close early and that "google always does that to them." When I reminded her that I lived far away and had already made one wasted trip due to a wedding, she just said "sorry." When I told her that this would be my last purchase with them as their inconsistent hours are too inconvenient, she didn't respond. A few days later I got a voice message stating that they could ship my ring to me as a courtesy. I'd rather not risk losing my mother's stone in the mail. It was not an acceptable offer. I work in dentistry. I have come in on weekends, I have stayed late to help patients, at great inconvenience to myself. Obviously jewelry is not a medical field, but if the girls at Goldworks actually valued their customers they would have been willing to inconvenience themselves for 5 minutes in order to accommodate my 60 minute round-trip inconvenience x's 2 for their unreliable hours and advertising. This is why jewelry chain stores are beating out the little guys. read more

This business is as good as it gets! I can't recommend them highly enough. The girls there were sweet as could be, and so helpful! They have the best selection, I was shopping for my wife for our anniversary and they had the most beautiful jewelry. I found the perfect bracelet for her. She loved it so much, she wanted me to bring in some broken family jewelry she had and they fixed it all for so much less than we were quoted at Day's and for a better job than when we have had work at Day's done in the past! If I could put negative 0 stars I definitely would ! Absolutely without a doubt the worst experience I have ever had at a retail store in my entire lifetime! I cannot stress that point enough! I brought a ring that belonged to my grandmother.. a large Diamond ring. The sales associate didn't even look at the ring for more than 2 seconds and told me it was worth $1!!!! I was shocked at the complete disrespect and unprofessionalism. I picked my ring up and walked out. I called the owner to tell him about my experience at his store.. and the way i was treated by his associate. He couldn't have cared less and was equally as rude to me as his associate. I am completely appalled at the treatment i received. I have read many other scathing reviews about this business and i implore you.. do not buy anything from this business as they don't respect their customers. I came here to get my engagement ring re-sized. After getting it done here, I have to get the shank replaced elsewhere because they did such a shoddy job. The shank is unbalanced and completely thinned out, compromising the integrity of the entire ring. Normally I would go back and ask them to fix it, but I do not trust them with my ring and won't trust them with anything EVER AGAIN!! read more

I went in there to get my battery replaced and I had a pin loose in my band so they put one in which I thought was great customer service. That was, until, she started grinding the pin down AGAINST the outside of my band and scratched it up. Very unprofessional and lazy!! read more

I bought a ring for my girlfriend months ago and had it resized here. They said if we paid an extra $10 we could have it back in 3-5 days so we did it, we didn't get it back for 1.5 weeks. When we got the ring it looked like the cheapest most awful ring ever. It was Sterling silver and had a diamond in it and it was so tarnished it looked like the ring was SUPPOSED to be black. It made the diamond look so fake we brought it to Days to have it tested and cleaned and even after they cleaned it we used silver cleaner and tarnish wipes for OVER AN HOUR and 35% of the towel is black. I would never recommend this place to anyone that even wants jewerly advice. read more

A terrible place to shop for jewelry or get any repairs done. I brought a gold and diamond watch in to get repaired and was given a hard time by the sales associate. She demanded that I pay up front for a repair and then the owner told me"we don't want your watch" when I explained that I wouldn't pay up front for the repair. So they then stated they wouldn't work on the watch and gave it back. But then when I examined it, there was a small diamond actually MISSING. The young lady there provided excellent service and took care of me because she knew I was upset due to republic.
