Giving two stars because staff were friendly, apologetic and offered to mail them back to me since I won't be home to pick up for three weeks. UPDATE 9/13: I'm home. The clips were not shipped as I was told they would be on 8/26. I had to drive to the store - 30 minutes - to check status. They were still just sitting here. I waited weeks for engraving that never happened. I waited weeks more for shipping that never happened. Not once did the store contact me. Not once did they do what they committed to doing. I will not, again, work with this jeweler.

We called here to see if we could have a brass bell engraved. They were confident in their answer…read morein being able to engrave it so we dropped the bell off with them. We called to check on the bell and first were told the girl who could work on it didn't come in until 10 one morning and they would call us with an update. I'm sure there was some confusion with myself calling and my husband being the person they called back however, after we called to check again on the bell, we were told that they engraved it, didn't like how it came out, buffed it, and would be re-engraving it. Once again, when we called to check on it, we were told that the girl that did engraving didn't work on Mondays. Then, next thing we know, they are telling us they can no longer engrave it. I understand that unpredictable situations occur and perhaps my perception of the experience is a bit different, but we were told they could do something and then after apparently doing work, could no longer perform the service requested. It just felt a bit off... everyone was friendly when we would call so nothing against the employees, just ended up being a situation that set us back on this project (a gift) a few weeks longer than we would have liked and just seemed like we were being given false information.

But I especially appreciated the time his took with us as my wife went through and built a silver charm bracelet with her Maine memories. Not only did he wait for her to decide between items, he was quick to point out unique differences and provide details as to why she might like one charm over another of the same type. Some shop owners might have walked away in frustration when she was trying to decide which scallop shell charm to select, but he merely showed her more and helped her see what went best with the other charms she was selecting. Even at the end, as he was adding the charms one by one to the bracelet and she last minute decided she wanted a map of the State of Maine added, he merely grabbed another loop and put it on.
