We were born and raised in SOUTHEAST LA, where there are taquerias EVERYWHERE. I know a thing or two about authentic , Mexican, real good CARNE ASADA tacos. Unfortunately, this establishment did not meet my expectations. The meat was not carne asada meat. It was like flat milanesa meat. It lacked a little bit of flavor as well. My boyfriend got the 4 beef taquitos plate with rice and beans for $18 and I got the taco, enchilada, and chile relleno plate with rice and beans for $19. The prices are reasonable given that the servings were pretty big. One plate can really be shared by two people. I had leftovers, mostly the rice and beans and half of an enchilada. The crispy beef taco was pretty good, but it wasn't that crispy by the time I got home. The chile relleno and chicken enchilada were really good, but the enchilada was on the dry side and was lacking red sauce. I thought the rice and beans were just okay. I had a few bites and was done with them. I had a bite of my boyfriend's taquitos and thought they were flavorful but needed to be crispier. They gave us complimentary chips that were the size of tostadas and two 2 oz salsas. There's an additional charge for extra salsa. I know because the man in front of me was agitated about having to pay extra for salsa. I have to agree that for each plate or entree, they should at least give two complimentary salsas instead of one. If I come back here, I'll probably order a la carte. The ladies working the front were pleasant.

We also ordered the trio chilaquiles with red, green, and mole sauces which was a great way to experience all the flavors. The real showstopper, though, was the café de olla. It was the perfect blend of warmth, spice, and sweetness. Such a wonderful way to start the morning!! Great food, genuine hospitality, and an experience that keeps us coming back. Highly recommend!

The bartender was super attentive, and she was always there so it was very easy to order! I ordered two short rib tacos, which the tacos were $1 off, and the mole tots, which was probably $4 off? Pretty worth visiting during happy hour! Service was very quick. There were also other few people ordering food besides drinks at the bar. Starting off with the tacos, the short rib was very nice! Very soft, tender, and flavorful. You can taste that they put amount of hours to preparing the meat for it. I just wished they added more condiments to the taco cause it was just cilantro and onion. I wish there was like salsa, radish, etc. It's kind of pricey compared to a street taco, but the quality of the meat was definitely higher. Also the mole tots, this was pretty good, although I wish there was more cheese. First few bites were pretty good, but the more you eat it, it does taste quite overwhelming from the black salsa. I wish there was also more toppings to it too. Overall, dining at the bar during happy hour was very chill! The bartender was also very nice and welcoming. Saw a DJ was setting up, but didn't get to see him play when I was dining around 6:30pm.
