I was originally not going to even go in the store let alone buy so chocolate but the lady handy out samples was so lovely and charismatic that I was convinced to do some shopping. If you really want to ruin chocolate for you, visit any Swiss storefront. I made my way to Laderach and all the chocolate in the states just doesn't taste right anymore. They offer an assortment of beautiful chocolates such as pralines and truffles. I went straight for the tablets and of course the dark chocolate type. I brought a big stack home of Madagascar 64%, Grand Cru Ecuador 70%, and Trinidad 80%. They were the most I've spent on a chocolate bar, but I wanted great Swiss chocolate. Next time I'm in Switzerland, I'm going to make one of my days a chocolate crawl. read more

Chocolate- 5 stars Service- 2/3 I've never been a chocolate lover but then I tried their chocolate and wow! Mouth-gasm!!! The two I ALWAYS eat are the dark chocolate with almonds and the other is a dark chocolate with strawberries and red pepper. Interesting combo for the second one, yeah? But absolutely delicious!!! I always take the same thing and my hubby gets milk chocolate... he claims it is too good to be true! Unfortunately, I am unable to second his opinion because I don't like milk chocolate! But if I had to guess myself, I'd say mouth watering ;-) Service here isn't the best... they're rude. They kind of just stand there and give you this look like "wtf do you want?" Someone left a review about how all she did in Switzerland was eat all of the chocolate, and I'm quite certain I'm doing the exact same thing. It's my first time in Geneva and a number of my colleagues said Laderach is the best chocolatier here. The slabs of chocolate are truly mesmerizing. Apparently you can try samples - I should have done that as the choc with biscuits sounds amazing. I got the milk chocolate with hazelnuts, the white chocolate, and the dark choc with orange. They are all amazing! The nuts are roasted and caramelized, which is a game changer. Turns out all the ones with nuts are like that. I easily dropped $50 on maybe 3/4 of a slab of chocolate in total but honestly...but no regrets. Turns out, a bunch of my friends who have visited Switzerland before love this spot too. read more

I wasn't in there Long enough to comment on the service because I saw the reviews that said this was the best chocolate in Geneva and I had to get a gift for my brother-in-law per his request. So I'm rating them a 5 on how amazing the chocolates are ! The chocolate is pricey but OMIGOD, it truly is a mouthgasm. My husband and I nibbles on a few samples and the few we tried was so good. But we ended up purchasing a pack of there chocolate block color mix and left. Now I didn't get to try the chocolate block until we got home and delivered the gift and WOW. The one block I had me wishing my husband and I got a box for ourselves ! This is a must try !!! read more

Swiss chocolate, yes pricey but good. Get the 100 grams for 6,50 chf or 7usd instead of pre packed ones. Love the white chocolate and almond chocolate. Black pepper chocolate if you love spicy, great place in shopping district in old town. Hot chocolate guy behind the counter too. read more

I first went to a Laderach in Lucerne and loved the chocolate and the gracious service. I made a point to go out of my way when in Geneva to get the raspberry/blackberry white chocolate which I love. The staff in this shop were incredibly rude - I asked for what I wanted in my rudimentary French and one of the sales staff remarked on the price for 100g (I was asking for 500g). She kept repeating the amount (as if I couldn't afford it) and I kept saying yes, this is ok. Then she said, it is very expensive (which it really isn't compared to a boutique Swiss chocolatier), and I said ok again. I was convinced that they were not going to sell it to me. Then both chocolates that I purchased were packaged together and melted into one another in the 90 degree heat (we were outside for about 20 minutes after the purchase). I wish I had noticed the packaging before I left the store. Will not return! Will try the one in Lucerne again on my next business trip. 4 stars for the chocolate, zero stars for the service read more

I was in Geneva for a few days and let's just say I ate all the chocolate. Before bed? Chocolate. With my morning coffee? Chocolate. Waiting to cross the street? You guessed it, chocolate. My husband and I visited a bunch of chocolate shops but Läderach was our favorite. On our first visit we purchased some of their slab chocolate, our favorite being one with little biscuit cookies in it. We also tried their milk chocolate and white chocolate, and it was all creamy and delicious. We also tried some of their truffles, which were also wonderful. The shop is really cute and had all kinds of holiday chocolates while we were there as well. We ended up coming back a second time for more of the slab biscuit chocolate, and also tried the cranberry slab, which was perfect in the cold weather. I also bought some chocolate Santas, and some kind of thin chocolate disks for myself, all of which have been amazing. The staff are very friendly and even gave us a small chocolate to eat on our way out after our first visit. I'd highly recommend stopping in if you're looking for chocolate in Geneva (and you know you are). read more
