I gave them my small area rug for cleaning and it came back dirtier than before. They kindly redid it, but it was still dirty. They thought it was enough that they didn't charge me for the redo. But they did charge me to ruin my rug. Businesses like this are based on trust. They blew that and I will not use them again, nor will I recommend them. After 15 years as a customer, I am done. I dropped off a rug for cleaning on 11/5 and didn't get it back until 12/23, nearly seven weeks later. I was told it would be ready for pick up in 2 weeks. I called repeatedly in that time asking when it would be ready and was told it was "in the drying room" and I should call back to see when it would be ready. I called again and each time was told it was being "cleaned again" or in the drying room. Upon pick up I was told it was cleaned five separate times, which caused irreversible damage. It was not dirty enough to be cleaned twice, never mind 5 separate times. The rug was returned with unraveling edges, failed binding, and curling corners. It was in good condition when dropped off. It is now ruined. Completely unusable. This is not normal wear; it is the result of improper cleaning practices. I called to speak to the owner to see what could be done about destroying my rug. The new owner told me he "Planned to do NOTHING about it" and to come pick it up. The business is under new ownership and whatever standards existed before are clearly gone. If you were a long-term customer like I was, be warned: the quality and care are no longer there. I regret trusting them with something I can't replace. read more

Lacey's was great Back in the day. My wife and I had gotten a quote for new carpets from Kevin who is awesome! Got the carpet we wanted fine on pricing and the date was picked one shot! Install day I called and confirmed the night before they would arrive in the morning. Now when we say morning we think 8-9am..... the installers showed up at 11:00am-11:30am for the install, mind you I have 3 bedrooms and an office getting done with carpet and padding. So they show up and get done around 6:30ish close to 7. We had two installers, Dakota was great! His rooms were perfect and the baseboards were not scratched or marked! But the other rooms that Dakota did not do were terrible, all the baseboards were marked up after my wife and I had paint them all the two days prior. So the fun begins, we called for them to fix's it, they would call last minute saying hey we can fix's it but it wouldn't line up with out schedule. We took days off and scheduled it and they would no call no show. Finally talked with the owner Glenn who is also nice and said we would get it taken care of and still almost a A year and a half now still have not taken care of it. Overall I wouldn't not recommend this business to anyone :(. I tried and waited before writing this review to see if they could turn it around for me but unfortunately here I am. read more

I dropped off a small shag-style throw rug for cleaning. I specifically brought it in because it was covered in short, black dog hairs & asked if they thought they could remove them. They said probably & that they'd give it a try. Upon picking the carpet up, I didn't see the slightest sign that it was actually cleaned - there is zero smell that indicates it's been cleaned. There is *always* some kind of smell when something is professionally cleaned, and it smells exactly the same as when I dropped it off. It is still full of dog hair, and another thing that tells me there was no effort here, is that the back of the carpet, which is smooth/no shag, has a ton of loose hairs on it. They would surely have come off had this been put in some sort of industrial cleaning machine. The worst part is there is a new dirty/crispy spot in the middle of the carpet, as if they had tried to remove a stain or something here, and only made it worse, which by the way, I didn't ask them to do. Now I have to rewash the carpet myself to remove their newly created damage, and pluck out all of the hairs myself. A total waste of my time & money. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. When I pointed this all out to the young woman at the counter, she said "that could have happened during cleaning, there's no guarantee" - which is exactly the same thing someone else wrote in a Yelp review. I will never use this company EVER again. I had them come out and measure for a carpet for my entire upstairs. after they did I went into the show room to pick out what kind of carpet I wanted. this was in Sept of 2022 and I paid close to $4,000 for it. weeks went buy and I wouldn't hear from anyone. I kept calling in and spoke with Kevin. he kept making excuses saying it is the manufacturer. after calling in every week and getting the same answer they finally came and installed the carpet in March of 2023. I forgot to have them measure and install carpet for one of my closets, so I called again only to be told that they no longer carry that carpeting anymore. they did say they would try and find a carpet that would match up somewhat and call me back. that was a year ago, and I haven't heard anything back. unless you walk in and want to spend money right then and there, or you keep calling them, they don't want anything to do with customers. I have had friends and family who wanted to buy carpeting and I advised them not to go to Lacey's. PLEASE who ever is reading this...stay away from Lacey's Carpeting store...I give this place less than one star. read more

My oriental carpet was damaged after I dropped it off to be cleaned. I noticed it immediately after returning home. I called and they said to bring it back in. Upon seeing it, their only response was, "that couldn't have happened with our cleaning". How convenient. But it DID get damaged while in their possession. They refused to address it at all. Absolutely abysmal customer service. And they damage carpets. Do not use this company. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service! I went in to the showroom, picked out the carpet, and they came a few days later and measured. They gave me a quote and I said to order. I specifically asked if they wanted me to pay a deposit. I was told NO, we don't take deposits. You just pay when it is delivered and installed. I was pleasantly surprised, but said OK. They said it would take 2 months to get the carpet. OK, sounds good. Two months came and went with no word. I called to get a status. The sales guy said he'd check and would call me back. Never did. I called again. He wasn't available. They'd give him a message. No call back. I called again. He's busy. I ask the guy on the phone for a status of my order. He checks. It's never even been ordered!!! Why, I ask? We require a deposit to order!!! I SPECIFICALLY asked to pay back when I originally asked them to order and they refused to take money. I have now wasted more than two months only to find out I was waiting for nothing since they haven't even ordered! And to top it off, no apology or anything. They acted like I was the one who screwed up. I agree with the other reviews...just awful service. I will never do business with this company, which is too bad for them because my whole house needs new carpet so they will lose out on a big sale. read more

Great experience with our sales, estimate, and installation. We had the carpet on our stairs and hallway replaced and stairs are no easy feat. I had upstairs carpeting and bathroom floor tiles installed by Lacey's. I found them easy to work with and efficient. They cleaned up each day before leaving. The new bathroom tiles were thicker than the previous tiles causing a minor issue with the toilet. Lacey's brought in a plumber to fix the issue at no expense to me. I'm excited that I'm the first person to be leaving a review for Lacey's. I used them for the first time in May at the recommendation of a friend who is a landlord. Looking back, I realize how lucky I am to know him because he's help me select some wonderful services around my apartment and new house and saved me a lot of hassle. Booking an appointment with Lacey's was easy. The service person arrived on time and was extremely professional. He measured my area, told me how much it would cost and was quick and efficient with the cleaning. He was a nice guy and I enjoyed dealing with him. I believe Lacey's has a very good reputation in the area for carpet cleaning and I felt that to be true in my interaction and experience with them. I need a rug cleaned in the next few weeks and I will definitely reach out to them to do the work (assuming they do rug, as well as carpet cleaning). read more

I had a great experience with Lacey's a few weeks ago with a new stair runner so I arranged to have another one installed on my basement stairs. It got installed and within 24 hours I became very ill from the chemical off gasing and attempted to have Lacey's rectify the problem by removing it and arranging for a refund/replacement of some kind. Glenn, from Lacey's, informed me that the carpet was certified "eco friendly" and therefore, would not refund nor replace the carpet runner. He did not have any concern for the level of chemical oder and it's effect on my health and others in the house. Furthermore, he informed me that he would charge me to have it removed. This is not a good business practice. I am shocked at the lack of concern in general. I will never do business with Lacey's again. The sales people, especially Diane, are wonderful to work with. You can tell it's a local business as they work hard for you as if it were their own home. I've had carpet, vinyl planking, and vinyl tile installed. The salesmen are great, they focus on your needs. Lacey's installed carpet about seven years ago. We have developed some buckling and contacted Lacey's over four months ago to repair what they installed. We have not heard anything so I recently contacted them in their store. Bottom line is that they cannot do the repair of the carpet they installed. They said they were giving preference to recently purchased and installed carpet That needed stretching. I wish they had told me this when I first contacted them. I was recommend Lacey's by several people, and they install a lot of flooring at my place of work as well. So when we went in, greeted warmly and showed several options, it was a no brainer to get our floor done. Fast forward and they show up to do the floors. The floor itself was installed super fast and efficient, it looks amazingly beautiful and I love the colors. Here is where the problem begins. All the pre and post work is terrible. There are hammer marks in most of the trim, scratches in the paint, giant gouges and chunks taken out. There are pieces of trim shattered, the pantry doors weren't reinstalled. There are even a few dents in the walls. When emailing our concerns, I received no reply from their online website and my wife did from Jim. But when he came to look at it, he said there can be some mild damage from install. SOME maybe. Not where it looks like someone took a sledgehammer to a small piece of trim. No apology or anything. And after reading some of these other reviews, I doubt going to the owner would make any difference either. So I guess all I can say is thank you for the beautiful floor that my wife is miserable about because everything else is trashed. read more

I called Laceys last February about a problem we had with two strips of vinyl flooring between our hallway and our kitchen curling up on the ends. Kevin told me he would order them and call when they came in. Almost a year later and we still do not have the strips and we had another issue with flooring chipping and splitting. A man came out to look at both issues and said it could be taken care of. That was at the beginning of November. Have not heard back from since he came. Also I called at least 4 times over the last year about the strips and got no answer except he would call when they came in. I stopped in one day to ask Kevin about the strips and all he said was slow boat to China. That to me is an insult to some one who spent a ton of money on carpeting and flooring. I sent a text to the company about these issues and have not heard back anything from them. Will not be going back to this business. Totally unacceptable. read more

We purchased a new rug this summer. Our dog got sick on the new rug; she both vomited and had diarrhea on it. I took it outside onto a deck and went over the areas repeatedly with carpet cleaner and pet urine/feces enzyme cleaner. The rug looked good as new, but I could still smell the spots when I sniffed close to the rug. So we rolled up the rug and placed it in our sunroom because of impending rain. The smell was worse in the small enclosed space so we wrapped the rug in plastic to contain the smell until we could take the rug into a rug cleaner the next day. We took the rug to Lacey's, explained the problem, and left the rug there; we were told it may not be ready to pick up for about a week. We got a call about 11 days later from the owner. He was very belligerent, said one of his employees had opened the plastic on the rug and that it was like a "bomb" with such an awful smell that he recommended throwing it away. He stated he would not touch the rug. On the phone we asked why they had not opened the plastic on a a damp rug until 11 days after it was dropped off. The man did not answer the question, he just said it wasn't his problem, and asked for permission to throw out the rug. We drove to Lacey's to talk to the owner, and he was even more belligerent in person than he had been on the telephone, and even inferred that we allowed our dog to defecate and urinate on the rug regularly and that we were generally filthy people. We took the rug home, unwrapped it and hung it up in the barn for about a month or more, thinking it was already a loss, and we had nothing to lose. When we did take it down, we sprinkled about half a Costco sized bag of baking soda on the rug, rubbed the powder in, and vacuumed the rug until all the powder was gone. The rug is now back in the living room with no smell whatsoever. We both still find it hard to believe that Lacey's would not even open the bag, let alone try to clean it. They felt zero responsibility for leaving it in plastic in mid summer for 11 days. The volatile, angry attitude of the owner indicated to me that he realized he screwed up and did not want to be held responsible. read more
