Literally it had been assessed by family members who decided to toss it and I was within an hour of it going to the dump when I met Aaron at Vermont Rug Cleaning. I really had always loved the rug which was in my childhood home in our living room. I remember crawling on the ever so soft high piled pale and beautiful rug as a toddler. With such sentimental attachment as it reflected my Mothers personality which was vibrant but also soft and classic..I asked Aaron what could he possibly do to save it. He said he would try and treat it with kid gloves in the several step process of trying to restore and resurrect it. He promised he would communicate as time went on as it was so fragile and old and taking a risk. I am so happy to give this Company my 5 out of 5 star recommendation for the superior job they did at using their wisdom of many years on dealing with rugs as well as some out of the box ideas as to preserve its textile authenticity and age. It came back to me with very few imperfections that I thought could never be repaired and bright and beautiful and most importantly intact. His Dad and team all worked with bringing me the best possible result that no one in my family thought possible. They also went out of their way to transport it and lay it perfectly in my home where I wanted it. As I grieve the loss of my mother who was very dear to me.. I am so blessed to enjoy a lot of memories of many holidays and parties in our NJ living room on that very carpet that brought me so much joy then and continues to live in doing the same right now. Within a half hour of calling late last Saturday evening, the PuroClean technician was at the door. Before leaving that night, he gave us his personal cell number and said to call him if we had any questions the next day - Sunday. We called; he returned our calls twice and answered all of our questions. And the same technician returned Monday morning and the next several mornings as well to check on the dryness. It wasn't clear early on whether there would be insurance coverage, so we appreciated that PuroClean was thoughtful in determining which sections of drywall, built-in cabinetry and flooring needed to be removed to expedite drying. We spoke several times with the PuroClean office personnel in the following days, and they, too, were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. If we ever have another mishap, we would absolutely call PuroClean. Just very nice people providing remarkable, competent service.
