I've been communicating with the staff by text for a while. Recently, I got a text about an opening…read moreposition, which I've never worked in that field before, but I was still open to it. So, I asked for a job description. I then got a job description for another position, mistakenly sent by another staff member. To clarify, I called the office to go over the position and got scheduled for a meeting the next day to go over the new job description. The phone call lasted about 15-20 minutes; no job description was provided. Instead, it was an interview, sounding directly from the script. During the conversation, I kept asking the staff member to repeat her questions many times due to the voices in the background overlapping her voice. At the end of the conversation, I was told that there is no position matching my skills at the moment. Indeed, I specifically asked about the positon was mistakenly emailed to me yesterday because I thought today's meeting is about that new position. She then said they required Spanish speaker. Hello... yesterday, over the phone, I clearly mentioned to the other staff member that I don't speak Spanish and she said it's just a plus, not a requirement. I felt that they were not sticking to their ground, and I would no longer accepting an invite from this agency.

At first I thought it was some kind of scam as the name of the recruiting agency in the job ad was not Randstad. But that wasn't the case. I got in contact with Desiree. She did some looking around to see if she can find something for me that matched what I had on my resume. We then did a small interview over a video call & after she got to know me better she went above and beyond to try to find me a job. She actually found me a temporary assignment until she could find something long term. This gal was constantly updating me with whatever was going on via phone calls, emails, texts. She also helped me get set up in their system as everything is done online with them. She's very easy to work with & was able to get me a temp job, get me paid for my hours worked & I never had to go through the trouble of having to go to the office in person, though I wouldn't have minded meeting her officially. I eventually ended up finding a job on my own, but kudos to her and the team for trying to land me somewhere. The leads and interviews they were setting me up with were pretty good paying positions.
