If you find yourself in the area on the hunt for a coffee, or just with a little time, stop in. My friend that lives in the area was raving about this cafe, so we of course had to pay it a visit while I was in town. The cafe portion is adorable, cozy and has plenty of room for the casual gab over coffees and plenty of tables to sit and get some work done (I hear they have good wifi). The menu of specialty lattes looked very tempting but I stuck to my classic oat milk latte. So good! The gift shop/plant section was filled with cute little (and big) plants, gifts for mostly anyone, a small but packed kids section, a wall filled with unique greeting cards and so much more. The aisles are tiny, and we tried with much difficulty making our way through with a stroller, but I wouldn't recommend if you can avoid it. Drop in for a coffee or tea and maybe a new plant!

They had a friends & family event over the weekend before opening to the public I stopped by Maddie's Brookside for breakfast on their official opening day (May 25, 2026). The tight parking lot was almost full and the place was very busy with a short wait to be seated at a table. The counter is open seating and I sat down at the counter. The server arrived promptly with a two sided menu and offered a drink. I got an ice water and went with the Western Omelet ($12.49 plus tax) with Hash Browns & Cinnamon Raisin Toast. My breakfast plate was served in 10 minutes after ordering. The omelet was comprised of a folded egg sheet with open fillings of diced baked ham pieces, green peppers, onions, & melted cheddar cheese. The hash browns was a thin grilled shredded potato patty. The standard cinnamon raisin toast was buttered. After I was all set, I was given the check with toast QR code which was $13.55 with tax and before tip. I scanned the receipt and paid online, quick & easy. As I was leaving, there were a few parties waiting to be seated. Overall, the western omelet was decent and the hash browns very good.
