I was also told that pre-employment UA's end at 11:45 then start again at 1:30. I had to pee so bad that I could t hold it any longer. So I went at their lunch break as I had nothing else to do in this area. I came back at 1:30 was promptly take back but I could only provide 1/2 enough required for the sample. So I chugged 4 glasses of water. I went outside to wait in my truck since the waiting room was full. I walked back in stating I could fill the cup now then was told I couldn't submit the sample BC I went outside. No one ever told me I couldn't leave the lobby! If I was going to inject myself with someone else's urine or fake urine I would have done it initially not after the first try! So to make things better I go there the next day and a lady in a Subaru SUV sideswiped my truck then drove off and wouldn't pull over. This could have been avoided if the dirty blonde haired lady would have done her job!

The good thing about Northwest Laboratories is that they're part of MultiCare and the results is uploaded on MyChart. Another good thing is that you dont need appointment to get your labs done. Here is the downside, and this is not just for this location but most of Northwest Laboratories. Be prepared to wait like you're at the DMV. Everyone comes here for lab, on top of the patients that come out of this clinic after their appointment (this one houses Mary Bridge Children's hospital clinic and Multicare Family Practice in same building). So just pack your patience. First things first: like all other Northwest Laboratories, you gotta fill out one of those Blue slips upon arrival, no questions asked. The faster you fill that out, the quicker you will be seen. Its actually crowded in early morning because people want to get their blood drawn and break their fasting asap, but afternoons are just as crowded. The staff are kind and the lab staff are very knowledgeable and professional. Some labs can take a while to get your results but this one is very quick in my experience, coming from a person who has lab tests every 2 months for past 20 years. This location is smaller than the Pearl street (Tacoma) location but they are located in less busier commercial mall so I like it here for that, and quicker results. Lab staff probably are some of best I've experienced with! Lastly if you're Overlake Medical Center (Bellevue) patient, its also a plus because Overlake is now owned by Multicare and everything on MyChart is easy peasy.

This is a walk-in lab and they do all kinds of testing. I come here to get my thyroid levels checked every few months. They're always quick and helpful, kind and personable at the front desk. They get you checked in and then you wait... they'll call your name and once you go back into the lab area they are quick about their business but do a good job. I get my blood drawn a LOT and it's always nice when you're phlebotomist actually knows what they're doing. If you come early (7:30-8), the wait can be longer because everyone who is waiting on fasting blood work tends to check in first thing. Other busy times are lunchtime, and around 4 right before they close. I've see the wait shortest in the late morning or early afternoon. Can't say I have a ton of choices because this is where my doctor sends my lab request but I'm glad it's here. :)

The "waiting area" is too small, crowded and uncomfortable, and people were standing around in the hallway. They have an automatic check in machine and say they'll text you when your turn comes, but they don't. They just yell your name when you're hopefully in earshot. The appearance of everything is crummy and makes me doubt the cleanliness and professionalism of the facility. They must have contracts with the Department of Corrections for drug tests that sustain them so they can treat patients poorly and still have lots of business.

They then get to deal with crabby people who are upset about having to wait so long after making an appt. Also, the check in process is great if you are tech savy. If you are older or aren't tech savy, there are no options to speak to a person to check you in. It is all done digitally with a check in kiosk. The lobby is very bland and univiting. The back area was cluttered and there is only one bathroom for everyone needing to give urine samples, which created a line for the use of the bathroom. Do better, Quest.

Today I came in at 9am, and they couldn't help me because they were just too booked. Crazy, excised, and just horrible customer service overall. But sometimes I find myself having to get poked or prodded, for instance, this trip to LabCorp for blood work. And while it's not something I want to put on my calendar every day, I have to say this experience was about 1,000x better than it might have been, so woohoo for that. First, I love that you can just make an appointment online -- super, super easy. I actually got on the computer at 10 and made an appointment for 1 p.m. same day. Second, if you're in West Seattle (or close by) it's really easy to get to. There's parking on the street and inside, and it's a small place in a quiet neighborhood, so much less hassle than trekking to First Hill if you don't have to. Third, I walked right in and was next; no waiting. In fact, I learned when I got there that I didn't even need an appointment -- apparently it's not a long-lines-of-people kind of thing to get blood drawn, so that was good to know just in case. (I am a nervous type and like making appointments.) The surroundings were honestly just so-so; there's a main lobby that's nice, but I was in the lab lobby, which feels more like a waiting nook at an old hospital, but it's fine. The room where the blood was drawn was a little small, and another guy came in to have his done while we were wrapping up my procedure, and that was just a little weird -- I am by far not the worst person about having to give blood, but I don't particularly want to watch someone else's pool up into a vial or bag, either. But the best part was Kristy who checked me in and drew my blood. She was funny, chatty, supportive ("You can grab my arm if you need to,") and kept me laughing as we talked about terrible self-published ebooks. I also got extremely light headed after they 3rd poke (don't know if it was the heat or my reaction to getting a needle inserted multiple times with no result). They sent me to Lapcorp, and the lady was done drawing my blood in less than 1 minute. I went early in the morning and there was no wait.. thank you Lapcorp!
