This is a way-below average so called medical facility. Let me assure you, my visit was one of the worst experience I have encountered in a medical related facility. The service, the format, the procedures, the ambiance, is all simply hideous and dreadful. This understaffed facility is so bad, that I will never visit it again, nor will I allow any family member or a friend, or a complete stranger, for that matter, to visit it, if I had my way.
I entered the facility at 7:15 Am and exited it at 9:35 AM. The insane length of waiting time is only part of the problem. Upon entering the facility I was stunned to see an army of people occupying every single seat and another smaller crowd standing around attempting to lean on anything and everything. When my name was finally called, I was given a container to collect a urine sample, as I proceeded to the restroom I was shocked to see about ten people with little cups in their hands standing in humiliating and pathetic manner in a long line waiting for the only bathroom (men and women combined bathroom). Are you for real? After 25 minutes of waiting in line to urinate, I had to walk with warm cup in hand to find out what I needed to do with the sample, I was told to leave it on the table in an adjacent room, next to the other cups already on the table. This is not a hygienic medical environment.
There were only two medical technicians in charge of taking blood sample to this army of unsatisfied and displeased group of waiting people. To my horrifying shock, one of the technicians decided to take a break and was seen eating in a small adjacent room, next to a microwave. I was about to pick up a used needle and just inject myself to ease my pain and surrender to death.
The receptionist herself, a young lady who appears to be pregnant, was heard saying to the other receptionist that she needs to go across the street to Starbucks to use the bathroom herself, since the line for the lone bathroom in her own facility was about ten people deep.
After numerous inquiries about my turn, my name was finally called for the blood collecting part of the test, I sat in chair number 4, with chair 1, 2 and 3 already occupied with other people, never mind that only two medical technicians are available. And my first question to the technician was: "Is the other LabCorp location on Grove is just as lousy?", she said with a smile upon her face: "Yes! They also have only two technicians".
The people of LabCorp have a problem on their hands and it needs to be fixed. This is not a way to run any business. read more
