Most recently I came here after I had an incident on my foot and the staff was able to attend to me. Although I was a bit scared, and in so much pain they managed to calm be down, and take care of me in such a peaceful way. They let me take my time and never made me feel rushed, which was so helpful considering the fact that I was afraid of the pain. It was packed but the man working the front desk kept his cool. We would have liked to see somone spray the counter down but masks and hand sanitizer were readily available. Didn't wait too long before a nurse (or maybe student) took me back- super sweet, professional and caring. The physician who treated me- was the same. They were busy but he took time to answer all my questions. I felt confident in his analysis and reccomendations. I guess this is a training facility but It's like a mini hospital here- you go back into a room w/ separate bays (looks like an ER). You actually pay from your bed which I thought was weird but convient. Any who as far as urgent cares go- I highly reccomend. It was very efficient.

So, what was the point of this appointment? Their next available appointment to see the doctor and have the ultrasound done is in 6 weeks. That's just unacceptable. Nice staff and no doubt the nurse practitioner was knowledgeable but wasted my time.

Being…read moreactive, thankfully, those appointments have been only sports injury related such as a tennis elbow from some weight lifting mishap. Thus I found my way to OrthoNow. I picked the Doral location because it's close to work. Having recently started at a new position and being in my probationary period, I had to deal with a super basic insurance before my employer's policy kicks in. Karla, the office manager, was really helpful in calling and dealing with the company thus saving me that "headache". After previous home & alternative remedies weren't working, I called this office. It's located in a Doral office building and next to another orthopedic practice. From what I understand, the other office is OrthoNow's "home base" where I would go if my condition doesn't ger better. It's also where OrthoNow does their imaging. When I visited, Melissa who does double duty as an xray tech & medical assistant, took my vitals and took me downstairs for xrays. After the x-rays, I was checked out by William the nurse practitioner, who reviewed and said that basically I have tennis elbow, so I have to take it easy for at least a little bit on the weights.

On the positive side, I had very good experiences at this facility from a medical perspective for…read moretwo surgeries. On the downside, they overcharged me for the first procedure. This was due to a miscalculation on their part of what total reimbursement they were entitled to under the contract that have with my insurance carrier, and how much my portion of the insurance would be. When I pointed this out at the time of advance payment for the second, identical procedure, they insisted I had to make the same payment as the first time. This similarly resulted in an overpayment. This occurred 2-3 months ago. I have written them a letter and gotten no response. I called them and was routed by their phone system to an outside billing firm, only to learn that this company no longer handles South Florida Surgery Center. They have acknowledged that my account has a credit balance but have still not issued me with a refund. This is indicative of a facility with cash flow problems.

When I asked if they only had 1 person working they said yes . Its Friday , they shouldnt book so many appointments if they cant handle it .
