Went in for a check up due to sore throat, at check in receptionist informed me that there's about…read more1:30 wait ti to be seem. The waiting room has 4 people currently waiting. I ended up waiting 2:15mins, for an urgent care that is not busy this is ridiculous. Can you imagine the wait if the place is packed? As far as the care, doctor spent about 8 mins with me. Nothing was prescribed for my sore throat. A Covid and strep throat test was performed and it was negative. I guarantee those tests aren't coved by insurance and I'll need to pay out of pocket. This office needs to be more efficient.

Almost an hour early and I was told they cannot take in any new patients.The lady at the front desk was white American and there was a Hispanic person also sitting at the front desk next to her . She was the person I went to and she refused to register my son. I told her that urgent care is supposed to close at 8 pm and that I am an hour early ,she said to me the doctor is running behind. we have too many people waiting and it will be a 2 hour wait time and that she has no intention of staying here past the time the urgent care closes. She also said to me they have already seen 40 patients that day and it was a busy day. I explained to her that its the nature of the job. some days are busy and some days not so much. YOu cannot close the door on a patient an hour early. No business does that,no grocery store,no coffee shop ,not even a doctors office does that. I asked her what the policy was and to show me the policy. I also asked her to get me her supervisor or the doctor and that I need to speak to them. She told me I can stand there and speak whatever ,she will not take me in. she even said she will call 911 while I talked to her in an extremely non threatening way and told her patiently I came driving 20 miles to this palce hoping that the urgent care will take me and an hour early at that ! SHe said to me I had to register in advance . What is the point of the urgent care if I have to register before coming in? I found someone sitting inside not sure if MA or nurse ,listening to me and yet not doing anything. she did not even seem busy or helping anyone else. so many patients sitting outside agreed with me and yet this lady did not register my son. One kind man by the name Alvin,who had also got his son there helped me and gave me another number to a different urgent care called Medirite at Rocelle ,NJ not too far from there . when I drove there they took me in rightaway and my son was taken care of. I asked them at Medirite what time do they shut the door on people and they told me they will entertain people even 5 min before closing time if they need to be seen. NOw thats what I call an urgent care. Hats off to Medirite and shame on Watchung Atlantic health urgent care for having lazy employees who would rather go home and sleep ! They should be worried about losing their job soon and urgent care closing down. The lasy at ATlantic health urgent care watchung had the gall to tell me "go drive to the ED at overlook" she said its 17 min from here and its open all night ,you can go and wait there! I have to say the medirite urgent care was also about to close an hour after I came but they still took me in and my son got his care . The PA that saw him was several weeks pregnant looked like 3rd trimester already and yet she was patient and kind and doing her job ,the front desk person sweetly registered us while urgent care Atlantic at watchung was rude and sending people away! Those people do not deserve their jobs for treating patients like that ! I would never recommend for anybody to go there! If you do go there register in advance as they cannot deal with walk in's . The staff there need to get home on time to have dinner and go to bed ! They could be racists too! (Possible) I am an Indian American and its possible they felt confident treating me that way and would not have dared do the same thing to a white person! especially a white person who gets there an hour early -------
